  1. I watched the first few early episodes of Silent Witness but decided it was too violent. I've heard that the show is pretty good. Perhaps I will skip forward a few seasons to when the new lead actress takes over?
  2. I've never seen Josh Thomas before so I actually had to turn on closed captioning to make sure that I understood everything he was saying. Not sure yet how I feel about this show but I'm willing to watch a few more episodes. I really like Matilda - excellent performance from an actress actually on the spectrum. I thought that her eulogy was wonderful as is her budding friendship with the basketball player.
  3. David lip syncing to Tina Turner as his big gesture to Patrick was wonderful! I teared up again. I could swear that the actor who plays Patrick was trying not to crack up. Dan Levy's eyes water so much at times that I think he is going to start crying. Wonderful episode.
  4. I'm not sure if it is my new contacts -- or this episode -- but my eyes are tearing. Loved the David/Ted scene and adored David saying "I Love You" to Patrick! Alexis rising to the occasion and knocking it out of the park with the singles event -- and then Ted showing up at the musical chairs. Just wonderful! Alexis has really been the biggest revelation. So glad that she and Moira had their moment - even if it was brief. Loved Jocelyn opening Moira's eyes to how much Alexis has grown. Great episode - one of the best.
  5. I thought that Jeremy Davies did a nice job as Sentinel.
  6. Just finished binge-watching Season 2. Adore the Blouse Barn lady and loved how David (and Alexis the Lawyer) won her the big check. Loved how David handled the step-daughter getting her period all over his high thread count sheets. Loved Johnny sticking up for Roland and Jocelyn when their old friends dumped all over them and the town. Loved Moira winning over the town ladies - and then learning that "winning" the election meant that she had to work with Roland on a daily basis. Loved Ray the realtor trying to lease the apartment to Alexis. Love David period.
  7. Just watched Season 1 and loved it. Cannot stand Roland but even he has improved over the course of the season. The actress playing Stevie looks so much like Holly Marie Combs from Charmed that it really threw me off.
  8. I think that Nic Sampson wrote or co-wrote a few of the previous episodes too. Completely agree with you @roseha regarding the recurring characters. Waiting to spot Frodo or one of the others is a highlight; I literally squealed when Mrs. Mahler (or however it is actually written) showed up. Brokenwood is one of my top foreign shows. I think that starting at the beginning is definitely advised. I believe that it is an Acorn original. I hope that they keep ordering more seasons. I have never watched Murdoch Mysteries but my friend has and enjoyed it. No Offence is an excellent series - and it unfortunately only went for 3 seasons. Tremendous characters and writing.
  9. I watched the first episode of Series 6 of Brokenwood Mysteries last night and loved it. The show has not lost a beat. New episodes drop every Monday throughout January.
  10. I think that Zoey mentioned that her dad could not swallow anymore (in connection with the granola). Did they actually mention the name of his disease?
  11. That is how I felt when I started Midsomer Murders Season 1 a few months ago. 🙂
  12. I thought this was pretty bad. I'll give it another week but not feeling it so far. I did like the plot of the drug-dealing doctor but did not love most of the supporting cast.
  13. So coincidental for me that you mentioned this show. I started watching Season 1, Episode 1 last night. I thought it was a bit overly violent but I really like the lead character and actress.
  14. I am a huge fan of the Lincoln Rhyme series by Deaver. I am often disappointed by movies/tv shows based on my favorite books so I was definitely wary here. Given that it was the Pilot, I'm willing to stick around for a bit. I was particularly eager to see the differences from the books: Amelia having a sister (not a mother), a female assistant instead of Thom, Lincoln being able to move a bit. I'm very curious to see what changes will be made, if any, for the next few episodes from the Pilot. Will Lincoln ever be in a high-tech wheelchair, for example?
  15. Finally watched the finale and the cast episode. Teared up through most of it. Loved seeing all of the characters get happy endings. Particularly loved the Jane and Petra relationship. I was thrilled to see so many returning guest stars so that all of the people who played such key roles in Jane's life (except Michael) were at the ceremony. Adored the family photos with the giant extended family. I will miss this show and its terrific cast.
  16. Agatha Raisin comes back in February. Vera has 4 new episodes starting on January 21.
  17. New Vera episodes (Season 10) begin on Britbox on January 21. 4 new episodes in this season.
  18. I finally watched the Halloween movie and didn't love it as much as some of the earlier episodes. It seemed to be a bit too long. Also - Agatha bothered me with all of the screaming in the "haunted house". Was she always this much of a shrinking violet? I did appreciate how Sarah finally mentioned her missing husband (at the end while hoping for some of the treasure). Toni was an interesting addition to the team - with an actual skill! Not enough Wilkes bumbling around.
  19. Season 6 of Brokenwood Mysteries starts on Monday, January 6 on Acorn.
  20. I don't watch Good Trouble but I was thrilled to see the entire Adams-Foster family again! Can't stand Jude's hair. I could easily watch a spinoff of Lena and Stef; too bad that Freeform doesn't cater to that age demographic. What is Callie doing for a job now that she quit the clerkship?
  21. Finally catching up. Loved Susie staying the Weissman apartment and Zelda leaving her sandwiches. Giving Joel a purpose outside of Midge was a smart idea. He instantly became someone to root for. Loved the accountant and Joel's mother's explanation of the books.
  22. I don't think that they will kill their only agent of color.
  23. Just watched the first episode of Season 21 - the ballroom dancing one. What happened to Winter's hair? I thought the dancing was great but the overall ending was a miss. Fleur is still wonderful. ETA: Watched the second episode with the miniature dollhouses. Fleur and her motorcycle! I think she is the best pathologist of all.
  24. I really did not like this episode. Not big on gang violence.
  25. Wherever Joyce went, murder followed. I miss that about Sarah; I half expect to see her in the crowd at an event - followed by a dead body. ETA: Season 21 drops on Acorn on December 1. ETA again: Watched Winter's first episode tonight. Not thrilled. I really liked Nelson, who seemed competent. Also - RIP Sykes!
