I hope you are right this is all just fake and the doctor shopping is for the story line. Because to travel across country for a consultation and come out of it confused is really stupid.

What I want to know is why don't they ask the doctor who said she COULD do a penile inversion HOW she is plans to do it? They keep saying having seen 3 doctors they are "even more confused". 2 doctors said she could not have the traditional vaginoplasty and one doctor said she could have it. Obviously they need to speak with the one who said she could have it again and find out what her method is to achieve this-- IN DETAIL. Perhaps this doctor has developed a new technique. What does this technique entail? Has she done it before and what are the drawbacks? Where does she get the extra skin? She did say the operation had 2 parts so maybe she developed a new way to do this surgery on surpressed youth. But the prospective patient will not be told what it is, just will walk around "confused"? Why wouldn't you ask what the details are and how it is done with the small about of "material" due to suppression. At least don't leave us viewers in the dark. Why are you getting consultations when you are not finding out what the doctor plans to actually do? This is baffling to me!

I also noticed that Jazz and her parents were describing her social anxiety and how it overcomes her. Is this not enough reason to go to therapy? To learn to deal with the anxiety? You would think this would be all the parents would have to point out to her that therapy could help in these situations to alleviate it or give skills to alleviate it (if not medication to take as needed in these situations)

Dating in the Dark screamed fake, fake, fake. There is a TV camera filming, so I would think there is some light. Plus with a TV camera there, would you not ask why am I being filmed? Do they have dating in the dark for teenagers? It just seemed so fake, you know they all had to sign releases etc. The gross dumb guy in the camo was also cast as "guy Jazz won't like" wears camo, high school drop out, has no hobbies. I think it is considered a pejorative. I am a fan of RuPauls Drag race and drag queens are usually gay men and some of them actually do transition to becoming full women. It has happened at least 3 times on the show and Ru Paul totally supports this choice. About a year ago the trans community had demanded that Ru Paul take the title of a segment on the show and change it because they were offended. It was a play on E-Mail called She Mail- because they are men dressing like women (drag queens). They did give in and change it on the show. the trans community found it offensive toward them. I was offended because RuPaul is their biggest supporter and would never do anything to put them down. Then my cousin, who is male to female transgender, wrote this whole post about how horrible Ru Paul is and how he is a disgrace to the trans community for having the play on words on the show.. Meanwhile everything that Ru Paul has done in his career to help LGBTQ causes and bring this all to the forefront. I think it was an example of Empfindlich.

Gingerella I enjoyed your post and you make very good points. Since you say you want to learn, the preferred word to use as adjective and noun and verb is Transgender not Transgendered. Basically never say Transgendered in any part of speech.

As for the drag show, 2 or 3 years ago, Jazz was the special guest on a show on an awards show on Logo network that featured all the drag queens from Ru Paul's drag race. She was shown interacting with all of them and hanging out with all of them. They all are big fans of Jazz. She knows these drag queens and I'm sure she watches Ru Paul's drag race and is a big fan of drag. It is something she enjoys and this is why they took her. It was not like the parents just came up with this idea on her own and it was all too much for a 16 year old. She's been there already and done that. Maybe for other 16 year olds but drag queens are a big part of her fan club. I believe she also marched in a parade in NYC with drag queens.

So basically they like the idea of the traditional vaginoplasty but have no idea what the actual process is going to be on Jazz to achieve that. Jazz said something like "I don't know how she will do it maybe use some of the scrotal skin?" to which this doctor shook his head. Where is doctor number 2 getting the 2-3 inches to create the vaginal canal? Inquiring minds want to know. Her mom was annoying though in the car. She just was beating a dead horse about the therapy. It would have been better to say once: you have issues, you are going to go to therapy, if not, no surgery. End of discussion. But going on and on and on was so annoying.

I don't see a general topic for this show so I am putting my opinion here. I just watched the first 2 seasons and I love the show but the whole insult Jonah thing is really getting on my nerves. Especially when it's the guys going back and forth insulting each other with these clever dick, cock, and shit jabs which no one would come up with on their own ie - a writer spent time coming up with these long-winded insults, like "if a bunch of dicks were shit out of an elephants ass, that would be you". Jazz consults another doctor about bottom surgery I think she should definitely take the testosterone cream! She is SO naive. She has no idea what it is to have sexual feelings or an orgasm. If there is a way to make the parts bigger, she needs to do it! She just is so clueless about sex, which is cute in this day and age, but when trying to make these types of decisions, it's not cute. Her father kept saying he would like her to have a libido, but she didn't even understand what he was saying. Thinking about sex and having the urge to have sex are 2 different things. She is like a 7 year old boy as far as having a sex drive. As some have pointed out above in other threads, a child IS able to experience sexual pleasure. However, I think the urges develop in puberty. The majority of boys her age are jacking off a lot. She has no urge to do this. Then those other ladies told her if you had not had an orgasm before surgery you probably won't have one after. .Jazz has no idea that taking the testosterone cream might give her a chance - maybe not give her those urges but will at least give the doctor more to work with. I don't know why the parents were not urging her to do it.

I think it was news to them that by blocking puberty you had this disadvantage. Seems no one mentioned this at all. Why would he have SSI? Unless he was disabled from birth, which MS isn't diagnosed at birth. I learned on here that you don't qualify for SSI just because you are poor. If he is on disability for his MS, then he would not lose his disability if she got a job. Anyway people on this forum make all sorts of assumptions that all these people are on SSI etc and one of them is getting caretaker money etc etc with absolutely no proof of any of it. No he won't. It is based on does HE not have any money that he owns. If all her money she makes is in her name, he won't lose his SSI. It's not an endocrine disorder, it's not a bad diet, it's nt lack of vitamins. It started when I was around 19. It's very common and it is male pattern baldness in women. I got tested for all sorts of things when it first started, some doctor told me I had lupus which I don't. Another doctor told me it was probably cancer. I tried every vitamin cure known to man. Then it got really bad so I wore hair replacement systems and wigs for 12 years. The really nice human hair that looks real cost me about $1500 for the wig and to maintain about $100 a month and they wore out. So every 18 months or so I had to shell out another $1500. Then I would go in and have it glued down and sewn in at a salon when it started to come loose for $100 plus tip. It looked fantastic but it cost a fortune. Now one could really tell but i was subconcous all the time that it was slipping or showing...or was getting loose and I needed to go in....It is an extremely expensive thing to do...then i started buying my own human hair wigs on line and gluing them on myself, I had all these attachment methods and tapes and glues and all these wigs all over my house - I spent a fortune anyway doing it myself. Then I went to hair extensions but my hair was really too thin for that. One place did it anyway for $650 and the tape showed! I tried another place and they did a great job but it was $1300 and lasted 2 months. I finally gave up and now I go au natural. A shitty wig is cheap and looks like a shitty wig. All wigs, human or synthetic SUCK to wear. You are hot, they sweat, you are always worried someone is noticing. I finally said Fuck It and now I have a big thinning hair problem but I don't care. People who have nice hair don't know how lucky they are. Don't rag on her about this, there is nothing she can do and she can't afford the hair replacement. If she goes to beauty school she may be able to find a decent hair extension method or hair replacement method that she can do herself that would be inexpensive. I feel sorry for her about this. It stinks- there is no really easy solution..wigs are horrible!! I had one custom made in Korea or something it cost $600 I meausured my head they mailed it to me it had like this weird plastic skin and didnt really fit right..I couldnt return it..i have stories!!! The wedding dress was so unflattering. She is half naked. I wonder when these girls look back in 30 years at their wedding photos and wonder how they ever left the house like that. Just got into season 2 and I was wondering when they would bring in lesbianism. Because you can't have a drama in this day and age without 2 women making out with each other. It''s impossible. The writers think they are being so fresh and so innovative and edgy, but it is in EVERY SINGLE SHOW! I might sound anti-gay but that is not it at all (many many of my closest friends and family members are gay- lol lol to be completely cliche) I love Orange is the New Black, Denise on Master of None, Queer as Folk is one of my favorite shows ever. If the character is part of the show or fits the show, it's fine. But I am anti-edgy -but -not -edgy -anymore drama writing. Lesbianism is so 2012. Let's stick a lesbian storyline in! As much as lesbianism appears in every show, you would think one in every four women these days are lesbian. I about died when they had the main character in Upstairs Downstairs become lesbian for ratings. Here I am after Downtown Abbey ended watching a period piece, and they had to go there. Apparently it was to increase ratings because the 2 actresses were favorites in the UK, so why not have them make-out with each other? It's just so damn cliche'. Come up with something new already. Your progress isnt just naturally going to start. The daughter has no clue and is not dieting at all. So you are not suddenly going to naturally start losing weight. The daughter does need another program. This "lose weight on your own and come back and show me you can control your eating habit" is not working for her AT ALL. She can't control her eating habit, she has not the first clue about it. Maybe she needs a fat farm or something I don't know but this isn't helping her. I know they get advice and support but she is not in the right mental space to start a diet.
