  1. I was shocked Xander didn't win or even get a vote. I suspect his youth played a part. I don't think they ever took him seriously. To me, it looked like he was very strategic through out the game. He was constantly under threat of being voted out but held onto that idol until the end. what the others may have perceived as lack of social awareness may have just been a generational thing. boy, Ricard looked really angry at FTC. I think when he saw Erica he was really mad because he realized she was a big a threat as he was and Xander might as well have taken him.
  2. it was meant in jest....I was giving Xander credit for being able to come up with witty remarks.... although, I'd be happy with him winning, or Ricard, or Erica....I think arguments could be made for any of them
  3. I wish they would all have similar models again. or, if not, then stop the random draw each week and rotate all the models thru each designer.
  4. I'd vote for Xander for coming up with Truth Kamikaze and Monty Hall Problem..... seriously, hated to see Danny leave. What a true competitor. Put it all out there but graciously accepted the loss.
  5. unfortunately, I suspect this wasn't Bones' first rodeo with white privilege.
  6. I actually liked the cocoon patchwork coat....glad she was saved because Octavio should have gone. What shocked me about Aaron's outbursts were how ugly and personal they seemed to be. Disdain was dripping out of his voice. I was extremely impressed with how Bones tried to keep it from escalating despite Aaron refusing to let it go.....
  7. your comment made me stop and think how Shan differed from Boston Rob. I admit, I'm a Rob fan. But, although he did say and do villainy things, he always kind exhibited an ironic "can you believe they fell for this?" vibe. His confessionals didn't seem as mean spirited as Shan's but I could be wrong. and to me, Rob was a much better player. Shan let her emotions cloud her judgement sometimes and when DeShawn tried to make her understand, it went right over her head. Rob was a master at reading people and made adjustments in how he dealt with different people.
  8. I don't like Ricard that much, but I have to respect his gameplay. I like how, when Shan told him they were targeting him, he told her he needed time to "process it." she wanted some kind of immediate response. he apparently went thru all the possible scenarios and decided getting Shan out now was his best option. he's very strategic. It will be interesting to see who he aligns with now. I expect Shan to be the next Paula White or Joel Osteen...."evangelicals" that bring in tons of money and live in luxury.
  9. I can't understand Katie talking about listening to her voice. the only time she did something the judges liked (though not top 3) was when Christain told her to scrap her idea. her "voice" on every other design was the same--clown collar trimmed out excessively and buttons. I looked at her website and those designs did seem as bad.
  10. I think Ricard is one of the smartest players there. Her obsession with getting rid of Erica or Heather made no sense at all. He was right about who to take out. He may recognize that Shan is a very off putting person and keep her thinking he could win over her. However, if he becomes aware of the Big Brother wannabe alliance, he'd do better to get her out. It seems that despite Deshawn complaining about Shan a lot, they and the others share something that the rest of the tribe does not, and that may prevail in their voting.
  11. I think Liana was still telling Evie, Tiffany, and Xander that she was loyal to them. Evie called her out after she tried to get the idol for the betrayed loyalty and she said she was just playing Survivor re: backstabbing. I think it would have been way more interesting if they didn't allow TC strategizing and they all were forced to vote.
  12. I find it hard to look at Katie sometimes. all the different prints she wears at one time really get to me. It's like she's just trying to be as outrageous with prints as possible instead of them all working together somehow.
  13. I thought so, too. and now knowing that Joe's son has a genetic condition, that may have been the reason the other pregnancies failed. so, she's desperate for a child and may decide to keep it.
  14. this is my favorite network show. I think Scott Foley is brilliant as are the other two principals in the show's production. I really care less about the dancers, just love the interactions among those three. I hope it stays on but my liking something is usually the kiss of death.
  15. I think Erika's best move is to smash it if the other team gets a feast. she would be the hero. they might reward her for that by keeping her. I, too, feel for Xander and do not understand their rabid desire to get him out. they'd be in such far worse shape with out him. I doubt they'd have been able to even get that rock out and forget about the final ladder where he provided the base for all of them.
  16. upon reflection, I think the ones at fault here are the show's producers. they obviously knew about the discussion between Meg and Prajje in the morning. then Christain reignites the situation knowing something happened previously and Prajje was wound up. he's already told poor insecure Meg that her fabric choices basically suck. and Kenneth, who should have known it was too late to ask was encouraged to do so and it was the final straw for Meg. of course, anyone who has watched Unreal or the current show, The Big Leap understands this is how these shows get the drama. I would prefer the drama came from Kenneth and Prajje "making it work" with what they had.
  17. I find I can tolerate Ricard's type of villain more than I can Shan's. Yes, he fed Genie lies and she believed him, but she knew he was devious. Shan seems to really get off on it. she seems to enjoy doing it. yet, she's aghast when someone says something contrary or, in Ricard's case, doesn't do what she wants.
  18. how many times in past seasons have the designers been told they won't have the luxury of having clients that all look like typical models? in fact, what was part of the challenge was making a look that reflected their "esthetic" while working with what they are given, i.e. the model. do they intend to only sell to members of their own race? kind of limiting one's business. I think Meg is a sensitive person trying to do the right thing. did she go over board in her attempts at empathy? definitely. but she's a talkative person as she had admitted to before. I think she got blindsided by the late request for the change but felt boxed in because of what she had said earlier. she should have handled it differently. but who among us hasn't been in a situation where after the fact and upon reflection, wish we had said or acted otherwise. At least twice I heard her describe how tired she was both physically and emotionally. even those that said all she had to say was "no" were over simplifying the situation. the outpouring of support for Kenneth when she was the one doing the favor (albeit with some snark) was what put her over the edge. had someone stepped in to mediate instead of Praije making it worse, it could have been over and done with. Kenneth was no victim. He should have realized it was too late to ask and if Praije hadn't been accommodated, he wouldn't have even thought of it. Christain should have told Praije when he complained about a white model, what Tim would have said: make it work. the joke is that Kenneth got what he wanted and did terrible work. and while I appreciated Praije's outfit, it was hardly the best of the top for me. I feel for Meg...she was not the villain here.
  19. from Parade article about Shan that explains a lot: "There was a time in my life where I was affiliated with a gang. I was homeless; I was living on the streets. When you’re in that environment, you encounter a ton of different people. You face a number of circumstances that most people just probably don’t face in their life. And you really learn how to read people, both cops and people that live on the streets who say that you’re friends. While I am a pastor and have deep empathy and a real compassion gift, I’m also a hustler at my core" Explains a lot....and remember there's a lot of pastors out there making a ton of money off their congregations....i.e. Joel Osteen types who are also hustlers at their core
  20. I could see Roy with the teacher....for awhile. at this point in his life he wants to vacation, eat tapas, etc. which given her profession he could do. whereas Keeley wants to experience success in business. I think Roy will realize that he wants more than the relationship with the teacher provides, he still misses Keeley and her level of excitement in all things, and Keeley will get the success but realize that it lacks without Roy in her life and they will get back together.
  21. agree Nick should get the emmy next year. I really hated him at the end. pity he didn't avail himself of Dr. Sharon's help when he could. you could just see all the frustration with his father spew out at Ted. but he lacks any insight into it. but he wants all the perks without doing what he needs to get respect...he wants the hot girlfriend, so tries to get Roy's, he wants to be coach so undermines Ted.... I forgot about the dog from the first episode so when they showed the puppy with the helmet I laughed out loud. forgot the former dog was named Earl. glad Dani got his joy back.
  22. Tiffany was so annoying last night. how she is still there is beyond me. I hate the whole immunity idol concept this year. I think it inhibits game play. not allowing them to vote until all three tribes find one? as we saw last night, these are not the most observant people to play survivor. either give them an idol or not, but not this 1/3 idol.
  23. I can see the thinking as explained above but.... count me among the people who almost fell off my couch when Tiffany was saying she didn't do "that bad" in the challenge....it was beyond bad, it was excruciating to watch. I'm also up for all girls, but when she said that, it was too much...at least own up to your failings.
  24. actually, I agree.....but I still think X played a better all around game. he didn't become a comp beast until he needed to. he strung along Ky, charmed Azah, propped up DerekF, basically he read each of the other players well and played them all.
  25. I know a lot of you would like to see Azah win but as full of himself as X is, he played a much better game and deserves it over her.
