Not to mention that she can't possibly trust Littlefinger. Only way he gains back her trust is by bringing Sansa, to Kings landing and everybody knows that's not going to happen.

And after a long wait we are back: So the showrunners just had to do it. Apparently Arya has morphing abilities and is capable of creating faces at a moment's notice. That's a thing now. So with seven shows in the whole season, they thought showing us the trials and tribulations of Sam was a good thing to do apparently. At least Sam has show some growth. I'm officially over Lyanna Mormont. Someone needs to tell her to sit her little ass down and stop acting so damn tough all the time. It's getting tedious. I tend to agree with Sansa, just not the way that she chose to do it. Do that stuff in private, you do it in public, you sow seeds. Also they literally just set the table for a sansa vs Cersei endgame. Littlefinger is a wise man but Sansa is such a blind spot for him. It's clear she wants nothing to do with him yet he keeps trying to force himself on her. Nice little story arc for the hound. Coming face to face with his previous crimes was easily the most touching moment of the show. Jorah citing. Glad to see that Cersei's a bit more cerebral. Still arrogant as all hell, but still. How would she know that Tyrion is a queens hand? I don't imagine qyburn's birds reach that far. But I guess I'll have to accept that. I wonder if part of the reason for her hatred of tyrion is the fact that Jamie loves Tyrion more then her. I imagine Dany's arrival at her ancestral home was quite satisfying for everybody. Next week, the fun begins. Wasn't that Joffrey?

This show is not an adaptation it's an Elizabeth Cooper fanfic written by a Betty fanboy. It's getting to be hilarious how inept the writing is. Is their gathering at the beginning of the show and expositing stuff we already seen going to be a thing? That needs to not be a thing. So Jughead is the only boyfriend/husband required to be at that baby shower. Was that so we could get Archie jealousy face or was that huge Archie-Jughead confrontation so important that the writers felt they had to neuter Jughead for it? I'm team Archie in that current argument. Regardless of what stupidity that Archie did once he got to the bar, it wouldn't have even been necessary for him to be there if Jughead would've pulled Archie to the side and told him that his dad was a serpent and he'd asked his dad about it. But no let Archie put himself in danger. Archie should've done more then call him out. Also nice to see he was more worried about what his girl thought about him as opposed to his "brother." Needless father/son scenes, nice! So this season which has thirteen episodes and is supposed to be concentrating on a murder mystery spends half an episode on a pointless baby shower. Priorities! Has this show given up on even trying to produce red Herrings or are we supposed to go "hi killer" everytime Hal is on the screen? Hermonia, if you want to keep your relationship with Fred a secret, maybe don't parade it around town. I have a feeling she's going to blame Veronica even though I'm fairly certain it's Betty's mom. Archie trying to start shit and getting his ass kicked needs to become a recurring theme just because. Finally, something positive. Kevin's love of all things Veronica is actually funny.

This relationship has an interesting dynamic. I think that Mickey is wrong she's not the one who would destroy Gus, he's the one who could destroy her. Just looking at this past episode, when he thought they were broken up, he was fine with it. A little sad, perhaps even a little needy, but he eventually got over it. Now look at what happened in season one, she practically fell apart once he put her on ignore. I was a bit disappointed in the lack of character movement for Gus. He's had two huge opportunities to move on in his career and he's blown both of them, he's basically at the mercy of a teenage girl who doesn't even want to be in the business. He's still passive as shit, manipulative ( or at least as manipulative as Mickey lets him be), and likely gets off a bit too much on building up Mickey. That being said, at least he knows what Mickey is and he basically recognizes the relationship for what it is. Mickey on the other hand is pretty successful career wise and spent the majority of the second season building herself back up/ in control of the relationship. Even going so far as to get off on the fact that she had Gus at her Beck and call. I wouldn't fault her for going back to her ex boyfriend, if she had stayed in that relationship. She pretty much called off her relationship to Gus and he got to the point that he wasn't even bothering with her anymore. Yet she went back to Gus, and she'll deserve everything she gets in season three for being dumb. I imagine that Bertie and Randy got back together to set up the inevitable Randy-Bertie-Chris triangle that nobody's been asking for. Other season three predictions, Gus finds out about Dustin fairly quick, I'd guess end of episode one, Gus's friends know about him they can only delay that for so long. I'm going to guess that at some point Gus will screw up at his job ( what else is new) tutoring Arya on the set of her independent film by sleeping with the mother and getting himself fired by Arya in the process, likely as a way for the writers to jump start Gus's floundering writing career, Mickey will likely regress shortly after getting dumped. Not a great show by any means, but it's a decent time waster.

Dispatches from K'un L'un: Iron Fist In The Press
Oscirus replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Iron Fist [V]
I'm not feeling good about the lack of standout villain. Even Cage had Ali for half it's run. On the plus side, Colleen Wing seems to be getting rave reviews. I guess she might be able to save this show if it's as boring as the critics are saying, but I doubt it. -
It's an adaptation, the triangle was an important part of the story. If they didn't want to do the triangle, they wouldn't have called it Riverdale. It's not like this story had to be set in Riverdale.
-
This show barely can barely maintain the murder mystery now. The show will live or die off how the show develops it's characters. Besides, Jugheads narrations hints at darker days ahead for Riverdale even after the murder is solved. Add to that the arrival of a clearly evil Hiram and there should be enough storyline wise. As for homoerotic vibes, you put two characters in a room for long enough, some people are bound to get vibes. There were some who got the same vibes off Betty veronica. It probably doesn't help that at the moment that Archie Jughead relationship is similar to the ultimate homoerotic broship, Sean-Corey. In terms of the Jughead-Betty relationship, when it dissolves it will likely be Jughead doing the breaking up. That's the easiest way to do it without there being negative audience consequences for Betty.
-
You mean the kidnapping and waterboarding portion of their revenge? Because I'm pretty sure that's not the appropriate level of response for what Chuck did. Besides, as far as the sheriff knew, Jug had nothing to do with that so the authorities would have no reason to bother with him in those regards. Can we also talk about the fact that said night club gave Veronica back her card after it was reported stolen? At least have him keep the card throw them out and get Hermonia to get the card back off screen. I just realized that in terms of the main cast the best mother is either a crooked mayor stage mom type or a mother who's forging her daughter's signature to help the man who she's having an affair with. How is the suicide rate not higher in Riverdale?

S12.E10: Dennis' Double Life
Oscirus replied to Lantern7's topic in It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia
Didn't Fishburn have two shows at the same time? I know Lawson had Psych and whatever that crappy new show of hers was and she was allowed to be on Pych twice. All that being said, I think this is more about Glenn. He's likely trying to expand his portfolio beyond this show. As of right now, he's not very marketable to kids which is where the real money's at. -
So they finally start developing Archie Jughead and then for some ungodly reason they shoehorn in a Betty Jughead prison sorta kinda "romantic" scene. Priorities, writers. I assume that scene at the beginning was some sort of wink to comic book fans since there's no scenario under which Jughead would think that he stabbed Archie in the back. I like that the characters are starting to separate more into their comic book personas. Cheryl is literally a plot point at this juncture, she basically aligns with either the "good" side or the "evil" side based on what's needed to move the plot forward. Can Jughead be anymore friend zoned at this point? He's pretty much the guy in the romantic movie who the female starts off with because he's safe and really nice. The Veronica actress fucked up and threw some good acting in that "stole my name" scene. It's alright, just don't let it happen again. Hermonia does realize that regardless of whether or not she admitted to forging her daughter's signature that it would be blatantly obvious that she voted against Hiram's interests. Right? It seems that our Ronnie is a daddy's girl. Oh hi Reggie, great to see they're still wasting you. Bye Reggie. I love that Archie's idolized his dead and now he's realizing his dad isn't perfect. I also love that his father's mistakes are bleeding into his relationships. Apparently Polly and Betty are the only two people in town with any hide and seek skills. So did the sheriff think that Jughead set the car on fire and then bought the sheriff's attention to it to throw the cops off his track? I guess we're supposed to be acknowledging that obvious red herring they left at the end of the episode. If you want me to actually think that dad did something, try harder. So moms leaving their sons in Riverdale is apparently a thing.
-
As of right now, Hal, he's telling too many unnecessary lies, he never did answer Betty's question and he's unaccounted for during the break in to the Sheriff's house and the burning of Jason's car. Also I'm pretty sure it was implied that Betty learned how to break into stuff from him.

S01.E06: Chapter Six: Faster, Pussycats! Kill! Kill!
Oscirus replied to Tara Ariano's topic in Riverdale
I put too much thought into this crapfest, but I think I figured out what the showrunners were going for in regards to Archie and Jughead and Jughead's secret. Basically what likely happened is that Archie's dad fired Jug's dad which pissed Jughead off enough to cause tension in his relationship with Archie. Archie either didn't want to deal with Jughead or was his usual oblivious self and blew off their supposed meeting which was the last straw. I suppose Jug's father losing the job likely made them unable to make ends meet and they recently became homeless. Jughead being a loner likely made his predicament easy to hide. -

Let's not forget the best callback of all Honey and Vinegar! The more I think about this season the more it looks like this season has been telling us that Dennis is leaving. You could pretty much see Dennis growing up throughout the season. I mean he still participated in the hi jinks, but ultimately, he almost seemed to be becoming one of those normal people that the gang despises. Charlie actually got to bang the waitress and it stuck this time. Hopefully it's a scheme for the apartment, but it's actually likely a real thing. Imagine if he actually got the waitress pregnant? Not sure how to feel about this finale. -
S01.E06: Chapter Six: Faster, Pussycats! Kill! Kill!
Oscirus replied to Tara Ariano's topic in Riverdale
Is he great at everything? Because for all the gruff he gets for being great at everything, he's been shown to be good at two things football and singing and he's been shown working on both. He suffered the embarrassment of stage fright and repeated rejection for his singing and suffered broken bones for his football. Not to mention on this show, he's suffered heartbreak, gotten his ass whipped and has even gotten unwarranted hate from Mrs. Cooper. If you compare his accomplishments to others on this show, I'd say his has been comparable. I suspect a lot of the Archie hate comes from the fact that people fear that he will ultimately come between Betty and Veronica or other such relationships which he didn't even do in the comics. -

Oscirus replied to Tara Ariano's topic in Riverdale
While the show hasn't put it in the forefront, they have acknowledged it repeatedly. I'd argue that it's developing fairly well. Archie and Betty already have history so there's no reason to develop those two further just yet. Now that Archie and Veronica are finally starting to develop, it'll start to pick up. With Archie and Veronica clearly liking each other and Betty clearly pining for Archie, the only factor left is for Archie to see Betty in a romantic way. Which will likely happen once Archie gets involved into the main story line, if the beginning of the episode and next week's previews are any indication, I suspect that should be happening fairly soon. I think it'll be ronnie-archie-val and archie-betty-jughead turning into the main triangle. I predict his curiosity about what Jug and Betty was talking about foreshadows his near future involvement into the investigations. Especially now that he's managed to conquer the demon that was his music. I don't see it. I don't really think that Veronica brings anything new to the pussycats. Her being out there was just a case of Josie not being as oblivious/rude as Archie was. -

Oscirus replied to Tara Ariano's topic in Riverdale
I do think Archie's presence is underrated, he keeps this show balanced and allows for the other characters to shine. I complained in the last episode about there being two different shows, but I get it now. That murder plotline is so razor thing that they're struggling to carry it to a full thirteen episodes. If the shows were just centered on that, it wouldn't last three. The more time Archie and Veronica spend together, the more I think those two work as a couple. She calls him out on his shit and he seems to bring out a certain fire in her. I'm sorry but I'm LMAO at the fact that Jughead just got friendzoned. I guess Betty will go out on a few dates with him just to be nice but she clearly wasn't into him . Hermonia, I get that you're holding all the cards in your marriage to Hiram at the moment, but it's probably not a good time to start antagonizing your daughter. I have a feeling that last maneuver's going to come back to bite her right in the ass. Who was responsible for that lineup? Why would you put someone who just bombed his audition in the pimp spot after the headlining band? I get that it's needed for dramatic purposes, but at least provide a reasonable explanation story line wise. Why would Josie just accept Veronica as a replacement for Valerie without even hearing an audition? Also, why was Valerie the one to apologize when she clearly wasn't the one in the wrong? So basically the murderer is someone that's following Betty who wasn't at the contest. Unless we get a new character reveal, there's only two people who would fit the bill. So this show is going to spend the next six episodes convincing us it's not one of the coopers just to "fool us" and reveal it is in the 13th eppy. Archie saying dumb shit and being forced to atone for it never gets old. I wonder what was with the werewolf thing. Jughead speaking in tv show/ literary references is starting to get old. If the Coopers pay the nuns at that house well, why the hell wouldn't they just make themselves the only two allowed visitors and why wouldn't they make sure to let the nuns know that Betty wasn't allowed a second time? -
Archie perfect? Am I missing something. Archie's constantly shown fucking up and making bad decisions yet Betty's a cheerleader, a + student, currently running a newspaper with two people, almost single-handedly ended the male toxic locker room environment vibe of the school, knows how to pick locks and repair cars and has people currently begging to be her best friend. Just saying. That being said, they really need to pick a show. Either go with the cooper investigation show/twin peaks thing or go with the Archie teen drama show. These friggin tonal shifts are jarring and it's not doing any favors to the characters ( namely the main character stuck in a show that barely any of the other characters seem to be on). Hell, they couldn't even have these characters on the same page at the funeral in terms of how they chose to dress. Also, this show needs not to condemn Grundy for lusting after young boys when the show continually finds way to sexualize one of the young boys she was lusting after, can't have it both ways. On a weird note, Scary Movie ruined Betty's dad for me, I can't look at him and not think about micro penis. Prick Reggie is awesome and he needs more time. Veronica is bringing alot of energy to this show, even if she's not as front and center as I expected. Blossoms are almost too cartoonish. I get that this show is a train wreck and all, but pull it back a little. If the Coopers turn out to be anything other then a red herring, I'm going to be very disappointed at the laziness of this show. I might be more interested in the Fred Hermonia Hiram love triangle if you didn't show us who she picked the week before.
-
This is starting to feel like they took off this season to work on other projects. They're getting quite creative with these episodes. Not much a fan of cricket so this episode held nothing for me.
-
Archie isn't supposed to have heat with either girl. According to the story presented, he's not into Betty and he doesn't want to do anything with Veronica because he doesn't want to hurt Betty. Of course those B and V would have more chemistry with each other then anybody else, they're in more scenes together. We have to at least go through a couple of episodes of letting the triangle play out before determining who has heat with who.

S01.E04: Chapter Four: The Last Picture Show
Oscirus replied to The Crazed Spruce's topic in Riverdale
This is definitely the last time we're going to see Grundy. She served her purpose. If anything, that last scene was a way of showing us that Betty was right without bringing her back. Ironically I think the biggest problem with the Archie-Grundy is something that's not being addressed. It's that we're supposed to dislike Grundy for sexualizing/ taking advantage of a teenage boy, yet the show does it repeatedly. I guess that last ogling scene was supposed to be disgusting but what does one call all of these shirtless Archie shots where the camera's basically showing off Archie and his "great abs," and yes, I get that the actor is of age but what's being presented to us is a 15/16 year old boy. -

Dylan knows hormones so he's not going to condemn his son especially in that situation where Alice was making it worse by needlessly attacking Archie. Dylan did agree that Grundy had to go away, he wasn't completely blind to what she did. His cry fest at the end was because he felt like shit for "ruining" Grundy's life. If you recall, Archie was breaking up with Grundy right as the others broke in. -
Doesn't Brian usually sleep in Stewie's room? That subplot made no sense. Other then the flea joke, very uninspired.

More casting news: Andrea Roth (Rescue Me, Blue Bloods) as Melissa Bowen, Tandy's mom. Gloria Reuben (ER, Mr. Robot) as Adina Johnson, Tyrone's mother. Miles Mussenden (Bloodline, Queen Sugar) as Tyrone's father, Michael Johnson. Carl Lundstedt (Grey's Anatomy, Conviction) as Liam, a townie who operates as Tandy's partner in crime while moonlighting as her boyfriend. James Saito (Life of Pi) as Dr. Bernard Sanjo, an emotional cornerstone in Tyrone's life. J.D. Evermore (True Detective, The Walking Dead) as Detective Connors, described as "a contradiction of a man embracing an intimidating persona that overcompensates for a secret he keeps close to the vest."

I wasn't a fan of this episode. Admittedly the finale was awesome, but the rest of the episode felt off. There was no real payoff to the mac/frank, Dennis/Charlie storylines.

S01.E04: Chapter Four: The Last Picture Show
Oscirus replied to The Crazed Spruce's topic in Riverdale
Finally! This is the damn show I've been waiting for for four weeks. Stay away from the after school special social justice nonsense and stick to the mindless cheese that I know you can be. Now onto my ten: 1. Let's start off with some controversial. That Lodge plan has to go into effect and Veronica has to be one of the driving forces behind thereby bringing her closer to her comic book counterpart. If we're going to make this sumbitch dark let's go all the way and bring on dark ronnie. We've established the B and V friendship now let's establish their rivalry as well. On another note, I see Archie choosing between Betty and Veronica as an allegory of old riverdale vs new riverdale. Well played, writers. 2. Did I just see a blonde Midge? Cmon guys, you can do better then that. 3. Alright, I get that Kevin is gay and all that but is he just going to kiss every closet gay student in Riverdale? 4. I think they handled the Grundy situation really well. I like that they actually had Archie break up with her before the craziness started. 5. Alice Cooper is starting to become cartoonish with her Archie hate. I'm all for her being an obstacle, but she's a bit much at the moment. 6. So Jughead is homeless and nobody knows or suspects this tidbit? 7. Could Cheryl have been any more forced into this episode? If you don't have anything for a character to do, don't put them in. 8. So we can concentrate on the murder mystery at any time now. 9. I can see why Betty likes Archie and I can also see why Archie is not as into Betty. That comment about nobody believing in him was very telling. Those two are on entirely different wavelengths. 10. It's weird but I actually like what they're doing with Archie. He comes across as the loneliest kid in the room, but he's not an emo bitch about it. I was glad the writers didn't go cliche once he found out that Betty was snooping around in grundy's life. Also , I think it's fine to have a straight man for all the crazy riverdale personalities to bounce off. That being said, I'm glad that he'll now be forced to interact more with his friends.
