  1. Josh had the crew cut when the family moved out of the Johnson Rd. house to the "rent house" in mid/late 2005. It has been suspected that he had just returned from ALERT then, probably even more legitimately argued now that we've seen Joseph and Josiah get the same buzz cuts before their stints there. He would have been 17. Other than that, I got nuthin'.
  2. Bella, that makes a TON of sense. I do, but I am a very odd duck. :D
  3. LMAO! So true, but I'm glad it's getting out beyond Recovering Grace, Free Jinger, and some Facebook groups who are dedicated to Fundie Watching.
  4. Just about zero. American soccer is pretty much an oxymoron. :)
  5. Duggar Hubris bites JB in the ass yet again. I think the bits about transparency and being willing to take punishment (you know, things regarding INTEGRITY) were too much to deal with. Looks like they're still content to protect Lardass and let the victims twist in the wind. eta: UP won't take the Duggars. The Bateses would be direct competition, and would kill them in the ratings (news is just beginning to trickle out regarding their Gothard ties, but so far no real skeletons in their closets). Maybe CMT? That's about the only network I could see with any interest that would be a ratings fit.
  6. I think the weekly magazines hit the stands tomorrow. We already know the Duggars got the People cover.
  7. Fun with STDs, according to Gothard's "Wisdom" booklets. Don't let the link fool you; they took screenshots of actual widsom booklets. For those of you who are new to Gothardism, may as well start with this stuff. It's unbelievable! http://gawker.com/semen-causes-cancer-bad-science-from-the-duggars-homes-1707107182?utm_campaign=socialflow_gawker_facebook&utm_source=gawker_facebook&utm_medium=socialflow
  8. The timestamp on this article is 9:30 am, I assume Eastern because all US timestamps are Eastern time. At that time, only 8 sponsors had bailed; we have since seen a landslide of sponsors bail out. I'm basically saying that this article is now pretty much obsolete. TLC must REALLY be evaluating its situation, what with this being their highest-rated show and all. Morally, it's a slam dunk, but financially? How much can still be made with 20 sponsors, some HUGE names, out? eta: Add Crayola to the list. A friend of mine received personal communication from them verifying this.
  9. I believe both weddings hit 3MM. The show has consistently run over 2MM since the Nepal episodes. Even those lame Q&A and Digging In episodes reached around the 2MM mark. So yeah, this is TLC's highest-rated show, although I'm sure last night's episode of The Little Couple came close to Duggar numbers (they used to eclipse the Duggars with regularity before Nepal).
  10. I saw a list of advertisers that have bailed is that is almost 20 now. No way the show makes it to the end of the week. All State insurance (ADVERTISEMENTS HAVE BEEN PULLED) Ricola Cough Drops (ADVERTISEMENTS HAVE BEEN PULLED) Party City (ADVERTISEMENTS HAVE BEEN PULLED) Pure Leaf Ice Tea (ADVERTISEMENT HAS BEEN PULLED) David's Bridal (ADVERTISEMENT HAS BEEN PULLED) Haute Look (ADVERTISEMENT HAS BEEN PULLED) Nestle' (ADVERTISEMENT HAS BEEN PULLED) Ace Hardware (ADVERTISEMENT HAS BEEN PULLED) ConAgra Food, Inc. 11. Fundies typically do not believe in therapy; they are strictly "pray it away" types. We saw that with Mechelle and her "bulimia." I imagine any conflict resolution Jill and Derick may experience will be solved by consulting the Bible. Frankly, given their beliefs, I'd be shocked if they did anything else.
  12. The direct quotes are indeed from Michael Seewald's blog post. It's been posted here several times, but can be found at Seewalds.com. The non-quoted information (including stuff you bolded) is from the author of the article, firstly in reference to Gothard, which is acutally only half true. The builder friend was a Gothardite, but Josh was only involved in building an ATI training center in Little Rock; he wasn't in a program run by Gothard. So yeah, that article embellished the facts just a wee bit.
  13. That was from last Wednesday (pictures were all over the internet), after the first article with allegations, but before they got hold of the actual report and posted it the next day. At that time, I guess Josh still may have thought he could skate.
  14. I've figured since the finger-in-the-dam announcement on Friday that the decision wouldn't be announced until Wednesday. They don't want to spoil the season debut of The Little Couple tonight. Again, this theory falls right in with all the other posts that assert this is all about the $$$.
  15. It was a private screening of Fireproof before it was released to the public. No one under 18 allowed. Sorry it wasn't anything more dramatic than that. eta: I looked for the film's actual rating, which I recall to be PG, but I couldn't find it. It was certainly not rated R. Remember, the entire Duggar family saw it at Doug Phillips' old fundie Film Festival, and JB proclaied it something to the effect of "a great family movie."
  16. A friend of mine drove by Chez Smug over the weekend. All was quiet. No media, blinds drawn. There is no evidence that the Kellers were higher-ups in the Gothard organization. Mike Keller ran an independent prison ministry. NOW, IBLP sends down some true believers a couple times a year (with David Waller in charge) for ministry. The first contact we know that they had with Gothard was sending Anna and Prissy to JTTH back in 2007 (pics exist). Duggar daughters and those awful pink polo shirts were also present. t As for What Anna Really Knew, I lean toward her knowing what Josh put out on the website: he had "struggles" and was repentant. Now, saying that is very vague and can mean that he had impure thoughts. No way that Anna knew the full extent of his actual struggles. It's hard to say what Pa Keller knew, but if he knew more, I doubt he even told his (lowly) wife. And if he knowingly married Anna off to a sexual predator, shame the fuck on him. But then again, he married another daughter off to John Shrader and another to David Waller. Josh McDonald is the real keeper out of the bunch; he's the one who posted on TWOP about Josh and Anna's wedding. He's been out of ATI for quite some time now, not long after their marriage 10 or so years ago.
  17. Totally removed from Xfinity's OnDemand (eta: SF Bay Area). They were still up yesterday, with the exception of the "street interview" epsiode, which I think was called "Guide to Love" or some such bullshit. I'm sure Josh was featured prominently, but I didn't have the stomach to watch it (had been on vacation, returning home the evening the news broke).
  18. My post referred to how David would handle Josh in terms of representing the Cult. Being his BIL is actually secondary. The public persona is what he's selling. Period. This has nothing to do with his sexuality.
  19. It will actually be interesting to see what TFDW, as a big "face" of the "new" Gothard, does. Will he embrace Smuggar with open arms or distance himself? Personally, I see Waller as even more sanctimonious than the Duggars, but he may be told to "love the sinner" on behalf of IBLP. I guess this really is a turning point with the Duggars' relationship with the organization. Who knows? They may well pull the video lecture this coming week, and at all future Family Conferences (I know that they were going to Sacramento in July and had the video planned for Minneapolis). Granted, this speaking gig is just Boob/Mechelle, but I imagine they parade the family onstage with requisite screechy violins. If I was Boob, I'd pull the kids offstage for the forseeable future. And of course, Josh better be absent. Period. They canceled the gig in Ohio, right? Or are Jill and Jessa still going without the Smuggars? Have we confirmation one way or another? I found it on Xfinity earlier this evening. It was Episode 21, listed as "new."
  20. No one, not even Amy, posted a birthday tribute for him. :(
  21. Probably always a video deal. Remember, they were originally slated to be at that TLC "Block Party" in Philly next weekend, before TLC pulled the plug on that gig on Friday.
  22. I imagine he is. He just graduated from one of Gothard's "seminaries." I am really curious how they will spin the whole Duggar mess, especially since IBLP and Gothard (complete with his perp record) have hit mainstream media. So yeah, Waller, Keilen, and Robert Staddon are three guys to watch in the coming months.
  23. IIRC, Gothard paid $1 for it. :)
  24. The molestation happened at the old Johnson Rd. home. They didn't move into the TTH until early 2006, years after the incidents in question occurred.
