When Jill went, word for word, into JB's spiel: "Nice to meet you. And here's my history..." with her hand out to shake, I knew this interview was doomed. As someone else said, four people can NOT have the same experience. Even if was "over the clothes" or whatever. They neglected to mention the times it was not. I actually liveblogged this and the times I heard, word for word, a catchphrase from the interview the other night, I pseudo-drank. It was eerie. I have sympathy for the victims' plight. however, at this time, but I no longer have any sympathy for Jessa or Jill as people. They were playing parts to get their TV show - ie. their livelihood - back. Jessa flat out lied when she said that she wouldn't be affected either way. So says the girl who got a European honeymoon and much of her wedding comped. Now more than ever, I think Jill is using jargon ("re-victimization") when her tears are really more about the fact that her future has been put in flux. If they weren't really victimized, as they claim, why cry about it now? Oh wait, that's not what the girls told the police....THEY KNEW!!!!! Even the five year old knew! Stop lying to us, Duggars. The parents never had any credibility with me because they had countless kids and raised them in a cult, but I could sympathize with the kids. Every adult Duggar spawn who continues to spew party line loses credibility with me. The truth would be nice, but they're obviously afraid of it. I don't know why, but that's really the story. Why lie, especially when people have read the police report (have to have read it to know about how the names were redacted. DUH!). I don't think the girls read it. If they are so "over it," it shouldn't trigger anything, right? I don't think any Duggar has read it, tbh. I also never heard what counseling the girls got, despite Megyn saying this would be revealed. I wonder if the answer was edited out because it turned out to be JTTH? That certainly wouldn't fly, given how people are reacting to Josh's "counseling."

What rings false is that they both have the EXACT SAME STORY! I think people internalize abuse differently, even if you're raised in a cult. As Jessa said in an old episode, Jill is the "emotional" one. I'd think that she and Jessa would have had vastly DIFFERENT experiences and responses to what happened based on their personalities alone.

FWIW, my guide says tonight's interview is with JB/M; the girls aren't mentioned. It goes on to say that they will discuss the future of the show. That should be interesting, given that Boob said they can't discuss what TLC knew and when. THAT sounds like there was a morals clause in place, and that it may well have been violated. We'll see.

Yup. They're upset that their potential livelihood may be taking a powder. They now think they're "victims" of the evil, librul media, far more than they ever apparently thought they were victims of their brother's abuse. Apparently.

Exactly. That's why I am very skeptical about what we're going to see tonight. And why I say "very skeptical," I mean, it's going to be almost impossible to convince me that this was the girls' idea. Even the way Jill said it sounded like she'd been practicing it with the crisis manager and/or her father. No way they go off-script. I hope there's some truth in there somewhere, but I won't be holding my breath.

Which means we won't hear anything from them until Monday, at the earliest. They have to gauge response to that interview.

Megyn showed another preview clip tonight. Jill claims that no one coerced them into doing the interview; it was their idea. Also, no one told them what to say. I want to believe her, but we're awash in Duggar Lies of late, and let's face it, those girls were raised in an insular culture by two hucksters. Ugh.

Josh & Anna Smuggar: A Series of Unfortunate Events
Sew Sumi replied to maraleia's topic in Counting On
While Clark Wilson is ATI, I believe he is based out of Alabama, not Little Rock. -
She's totally Stockholm Syndromed. AND she's pissed that the gravy train may be coming to an end. Sad.

I guess you missed when I posted a couple of days ago that I'd forego drinking to look for logical fallacies. OMFG. Megyn was also guilty with leading questions. Dear Boob/Mechelle, Education, even a real high school one, teaches aspects of critical thinking/debating principles. I guess their lemmings are really so blind that they cannot see?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but pastors/priests (oh, irony) are mandated reporters. Goes to show that they were homechruching at the time. I know some people have been curious about that timeline, but this is pretty clear evidence that they no longer attended even an IFB church. However, it's clear that whoever leaked to Oprah was a member of that church and was probably excommunicated. I imagine the By Invitation Only church began in, oh, late 2006. See Boob, that's how you put together a timeline. I was disappointed that Megan took the show narrative all the way out to 2008, when the fucking debut special was taped barely 6 months after Smuggar came home from Little Rock. No "counseling" for the girls, no nothing. If it happened at all, it was out of context of the timelines that Boob was trying to feed us, like it was all done by 2003. I'm still so angry; it's going to take me some time to unpack all the bullshit. That said, some credit to Megyn for the robocall question; Mechelle hung herself with the response. I'm shocked that the editors let that through, but cut her and Boob off quite abruptly when they seemed to veer off course, probably into religion. I forgive them the lame black sheep story; that one is told to five year olds. It shouldn't be an allegory to represent the Duggar Family Dynamics. Ugh. eta: Mechelle, you are not "at peace." If you were, you would have let Josh speak for himself and let the show go. Period.

Ugh, Michelle, whatever your kids supposedly ";poured out their hearts" to in counseling is NOT revealed. Do they even know that? I think they believe that what the girls said to counselors is "out there." Well, that's easy to assume, since you can lie about it, since there was likely no professional counseling, the records of which ARE SEALED. Again, I don't think they know what's really in the public domain and are obviously operating off of more paranoid pretenses.

So, according to JB, the "last step, " right after Smuggar got back from Little Rock, was taking him to the Kiddie Porn Cop. But they all had therapy. Which is the last step again? I'm calling False Dichotomy. Both can't be true. Same goes for over/under touching. They know. They're just coached.

Mechelle, staring gape-mouthed at JB, then whispering "under the clothes" was one of the creepiest things I've ever seen in a TV interview.

How do we really know the kids were seen there? THOSE records would be confidential. They were fed a LOT of detailed information ie. "mandated reporters?" How did they know what one was since they don't live in the world? I think someone has been coaching them for this over the past few days.

Having just seen a picture of toddler Jordyn sitting on the lap of Joe Maxwell, who would have been about 19 at the time, I'd say that the Duggars aren't watching out for their girls like they claim to be. I'm still ragey; it may take me a day to get my thoughts together to post, aside from the fact that there were multiple logical fallacies. You could have pretty much put the list on a dartboard, blindfolded yourself, thrown the dart, and landed on one that was abused by either Megyn or the Duggars. Michelle needs to stop it with the crocodile tears. That was pathetic. Liberal "agenda" in the form of nebulous "people" blamed? Check. False outrage as they continue to protect the Golden Son? Check. I'll go back and read everyone else'e thoughts, rewatch while not liveblogging, and come back with some cogent thoughts not formed in a haze or rage.

With the new report out, TMZ Live showed no mercy. They went for the jugular, big time, and that was before Jessa and Jill were outed.
-
The girls are just that brainwashed. And they like their lifestyle. They'll suppress whatever they have to in order to live the way they have, even if it means they still have unresolved issues. This still has Boob written all over it. You KNOW he's getting a cut of whatever action goes down with TLC.
