  1. I'll admit that I felt Candiace's questioning Ashley about her desire to have a baby seemed petty and disingenuous. We live in a politically correct society now, but I'm willing to bet that even in our modern age, a substantial amount of pregnancies BEGIN with the help of few dranks. Come on now.
  2. The bolded section made me holler out loud. So many damn excuses.
  3. Girl, this is where I am too. I'm sitting here with my mouth open trying to figure out Monique's issue. I get it; she don't eff with Candi now. Cool. But for Mo to attempt to rewrite the history that played out on our screens is some straight bullshit. Monique really is a mess. I don't understand Mo's deep hatred of Candi, a woman who went out of her way to NOT argue with Mo on a couple of occasions. Meanwhile, Gizelle, a woman who shaded, insulted, and dismissed Monique FOR YEARS, got NONE of that smoke. NONE.
  4. I'm not surprised about Ashley being Darby's Barbie. What's understood doesn't need to be said. Mia trying to explain her vaginal surgeries was fun. I like that she doesn't shake easily. If she's being truthful about how she got her start, then Mia may be a boss. Shit. Who am I kidding? This woman didn't even know her own age, what part of her lady bits got rejuvenated or whether she was a bartender or a stripper. She also makes up stories (telling Wendy that Gizelle said Wendy is a "weak bitch" is just one we caught). I don't believe Mia's doing anything at those chiropractic places except picking out the decor. She definitely ain't looking at balance sheets and quarterly reports. Nice try, Mia. I find it interesting that Robyn had no idea about Gizelle dating someone. I've seen others who believe Giz totally made it up. I don't know. I just see that she plays her cards close. If something were to become steady than Robyn would probably learn about it then. Ain't nothing wrong with taking time for yourself, so hopefully, Gizelle would just say that rather than inventing someone. It's funny that the ladies are so concerned about Gizelle's brief reunion with Jamal. I think they're more concerned than she ever was. I never believed that Gizelle was invested on a personal level. This felt like a storyline -- plain and simple. A terrible storyline, IMO, that made her look stupid and desperate, but a storyline nonetheless. Giz and Jamal always looked like brother and sister sitting next to each other. Any chemistry they had dissipated in the early aughts.
  5. So different franchise producers have different ideas of how to run the show? That makes sense. Each show has its down vibe. I'm not surprised that the producers love Ashley. I figured that a lot of behind-the-scenes issues influence the shows more than we know. Smart housewives befriend production, which undoubtedly makes it easier for them to keep their spot, even if the viewers don't much care for them. That's why I think Ash is safe despite doing nothing but leak milk this season. Ashley grew up rough. People like that learn to quickly identify those who can help them. So while she may knife up every last relationship with the other howives, she ain't falling out with production if she can help it. If she fostered a good relationship, the producers will fight for her even if the cast turns their back on her. What a damn shame! ATL acting like there can only be one show featuring a black cast? Please. They're totally different. So different in fact that I haven't watched ATL in nearly a decade. I don't miss it either.
  6. I believe Katie. Ashley's known to be nasty despite not being called out on it as much as others. Robyn is absolutely right about the producers setting her up. They used Ashley to bypass Robyn's mandate. It's well known that reality show production staff uses all kinds of tricks to tell the storyline they want told. They knew early on that they had a live one in Ashley. Here's a woman willing to do anything for a check. She don't mind getting dirty with her mouth or anything else to hold on to that champagne flute.
  7. First @dosodog thank you for taking the time to provide us with this information. We appreciate it. When the show first started I always called Karen Potomac's LVP, lol. She was married to an older man, but in my opinion, I never really saw the huge age difference. That's probably due to manner and vibe more than anything. I feel the same about Lisa and Ken. These men are old enough to be their fathers, but something about the women's manner makes them look comparable. I'm sure the age difference was more apparent during their younger days, though. Regarding Karen's plastic surgery, I'll admit that I was surprised to learn she is a decade younger than my mother. She's usually put together well (especially since she's upped her wig game) but between the marriage to an much older man, the way she carries herself, and the obvious face work, she can come across older than her age. Just my own personal opinion: I believe plastic surgery can sometimes age people instead of prolonging youth. Especially for women of color. Most don't need it. Eat right. Get rest. Moisturize. Go easy on the liquor so you don't get puffy. Something about the entertainment business can make even beautiful people resort to procedures they don't need.
  8. Ooh, this makes sense! I have to remember that we've not returned to normal. I hope you're right and that soon the CSI floor will be bustling with activity again.
  9. I liked this episode a lot. It felt closer to the old show than the previous eps had so far. The airplane storyline was well done. When Grissom and Sara's suspect went out of his way to "press the flesh" I believed, at first, that he was attempting to grab their prints somehow. Something about the way he gripped the hands. But Grissom probably would have noticed... My only issue with the show remains the same one I had during the first episode: the show feels so empty. The CSI floor used to be jumping. It's so quiet and feels like only seven people work there now. There used to be cops running around (Brass practically lived there), various shifts coming and going, prick antagonists like Ecklie roaming the halls starting trouble .... For instance, I didn't much care about Louise Lombard's character, but she had her place, ya know? They need more bodies/activity for it to feel like a real place. Budget constraints? Hopefully enough of us will watch so that next year this can be remedied.
  10. Thanks, hon! Didn't want to assume you'd want to share, but you did such a good job with the BH recaps. I enjoyed them very much.
  11. Anyone read Not All Diamonds and Rosé...? I'm reading some good bits in the Beverly Hills thread posted by @dosodog. I know she reads here too, but she might be burnt out, so I won't beg her to post here 😇. I'd appreciate anything y'all would be willing to spill. Otherwise I'll see if I can hunt down a copy from my library and post later when I have time. UPDATE: Just placed book on hold using my eLibrary. Unfortunately, all 33 copies are checked out.
  12. https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/1866-rhobh-in-the-media/?do=findComment&comment=7078445 Candiace told the truth and shamed the devil Andy (as if he had any shame).
  13. That's what I been telling these chicks! Out here talking reckless about Martha's recipes and decorations. Y'all think she and Snoop just out here cooking together? That's a front! She been down with the set -- clicked up with that crew way back in the 90s. Even Suge don't fuck with her. He knows better. She definitely 'bout that life.
  14. I'll say here that I think Eddie is nice-looking. I also like his vibe. He's no Idris, but Idrises are rare. I like that Wendy is into her husband. I felt her love and passion for him when she was talking about him in that ep.
  15. How you gon be offended by Wendy's tragically poor eyesight and/or delusion? She can't help that she's living in a totally different reality from yours. If you think otherwise just watch her attempts to sell fifty-dollar candles without the proper platform, social media presence, or home goods/decor-maven reputation. Wendy is desperately trying to escape a career she believed would be stable and prestigious (and more importantly, would please her Mommy). She'd rather drop the books and drop it like it's hot out in these streets. That's why she can't see straight.
  16. I totally agree. They kicked each others asses and I really appreciate that they were allowed to go for it. Rita's fight scenes are my favorites of the entire series. She throws a believable punch.
  17. Michael Darby told me to tell you that although he may resemble that remark, if you don't fall back, he'll be looking to bring you up on criminal and civil charges. You'll be served just as soon Mike and Ash finish trumping up some charges on Candiace. You def got next, sis.
  18. I couldn't stop staring at the visible lace sitting at her hairline. It either wasn't cut well enough or there wasn't enough hair to cover the area. I'm used to Karen's tacky wigs going all the way back to Season One, but this was her vow renewal. I wish she'd stepped it up a little bit more.
  19. All this talk about cookies is making me hungry! @Boofish is correct about Michael buying the cookies Juan likes. Except I don't even think he'd bother taking the cookies home to Ashley. Robyn's gonna be rubbing sleep out her eyes at midnight wondering what Papa Croc is doing at her door. Robyn and Juan's relationship has such a dude/bro vibe. Seriously, Juan is softer and more open with Michael Darby than he is with the mother of his children. I keep expecting Juan to slap Robyn on the back and tell her to "Buck up. Get over it. Be a man!" I'll be so shocked if a re-marriage takes place. I definitely don't see another child being born of their union. Juan's counting down the hours until their youngest won't need child support. Then he'll truly be free. After that, he may decide to continue their roommate situation or move on. I wish Chris would crawl all the way out of Michael's ass. That old pervert can do whatever he wants and get away with it. Chris should be smart enough to see that and support his wife. What's Chris's end game? To keep him and Candiace on the show? They don't need to pretend to make up with the Darbys for that to happen. Ain't barely a show without Candiace anyway (as many of y'all have pointed out). I hate how much I love to hate Dot. She stays doing too much. OF COURSE people mistake her and Candiace for sisters all the time. Yep. That sounds about right. DOT should be holding a champagne glass -- not her daughter.
  20. I watched until the end hoping to learn that Ruby is secretly Rita's daughter she had when very young. The actor's chemistry and relationship felt more mother-daughter than sister-sister, IMO. Guess I'm wrong, but if I were to ever write Wentworth fanfiction, that would be my first reveal. I enjoyed this show from the first season until the last. Great casting and storylines kept it going. Many shows lose me after the characters I first grew to love leave, but Wentworth managed to keep me on board season after season -- even after The Joan Ferguson Show started becoming absolutely ridiculous I hung in there because the actors sold it. I'll miss this show and plan to do a re-watch soon.
  21. When they went outside I noticed how dressed down Gizelle was compared to everyone else. I realized she was in the best position to really enjoy her food. She wouldn't have cared if a lil bit of butter got on them jeans. She could pull and twist and lick and suck out that crab meat to her heart's content without worrying about silk or sequins getting messed up.
  22. Shut up, Ashley! So proud of your struggle situationship and trying to shade others when your husband's heart belongs to Juan Dixon. Adolescent rebellion is so real. If you want your children to do something, model the opposite. I loved seeing how pretty and put-together Gizelle's girls looked while standing next to their mother who was wearing ripped jeans that make her legs look like sausages and an ill-fitting top (and the too-small bra beneath it). I salute whoever taught those babies how to put themselves together. "It's been fifty years of struggle." Whoa. I don't need Karen to come for Gizelle anymore. Just send Giz's daughters. Everything they say is true and she'd receive it better. I'm starting to root for that vampire, though. I hate that EveryHue appears to have been permanently shelved.
  23. Everything you said. Additionally, I find the two field techs to be charisma-free. If they're pushing for a love story with this pair, I know I'll be fast-forwarding their scenes. I like Maxine and Dr. Ramirez. I've always loved Grissom. I can take/leave Sarah but she feels like home, so I'm happy to see her. This show needs more employees with interesting backstories, IMO. I loved Catherine and Warrick's unexplored chemistry and Greg's goofy self. Nick could be an ass sometimes, but we all know guys like that. This team needs a burst of personality. Today's writers are so busy trying to not offend anyone that writing for character has really suffered.
  24. My first thought when reading this was that Heather was being hyperbolic. I mean, as messed up as Sonja is, I just don't like to imagine her being this damaged. And yet ... Sonja's thirsty as hell ass has not filed a lawsuit yet. This detail is making me think that Heather could be telling the truth. Ugh. Remember the Joanna Krupa/Brandi Glanville mess? This would not be the first Howife-vagina lawsuit on the books. I'm waiting, girls...
  25. "Oh, fuck. I'm gonna need more tarps." Joe's internal dialogue after hearing Sherry shoot Cary. I also noticed that the show must have heard my complaint from a few episodes ago. The bakery was packed this episode! Re-watching this finale again because I wasn't sure how I felt about it the first time around. Personally, I kinda wanted You to become almost like American Horror Story -- sort of an anthology show, whose star and subject matter could change each year, though the underlying issue of creepy stalking would always remain. I wanted Love to either kill Joe and move on, or to take Henry and go on the run. She and Joe could have spent the next season running around the country playing Spy vs. Spy. I knew that wouldn't happen, though. Producers rarely fuck with stuff that works. Also, Penn Badgley's fans would totally lose it all over the interwebs. So Joe dosed himself with adrenaline. Okay. Fabulous that he was smart enough to do that. Also great that he lucked out with Cary's stash ... just in time, huh? I mean, what would Joe have done if he didn't have any on hand? I get that he could have purchased some to defeat the aconite, but this coincidence bugged. Also, upon re-watch, Joe's internal dialogue is all, "No no no. What the fuck am I gonna do now." I know. I know. Can't give too much away to the audience. But I wouldn't have minded hearing Joe think something along the lines of, "Thank goodness I always have a backup plan, otherwise, I'd be fucked..." I loved Crazy Caged Couple and knew they would work things out despite their gunshot wounds. They are the same. They need each other. They make the other better. They want the same things. They're weird and fakey, but they work through their problems. They are forgiving and kind to each other, even after seeing the monster lurking inside the other. Wow. Not my style, but definitely healthier than a lot of relationships. Letting someone bait you into doing something your antennae is saying is bad usually doesn't go well. Marienne should have said she had no self respect and walked away. I don't sleep on anyone -- not even smiling, petite women. True Crime binges have taught me that anyone can dish it! . I'll admit that I liked Marienne better when she was just Joe's bitchy boss. Once she and Joe started their relationship, her personality was stripped down to Victim -- always in despair/danger/damage and I didn't really care about her anymore. I am, however, really happy that she and her kid got away from Love AND Joe's crazy ass. She's alive somewhere. Good for her. What can I say about Love? I'll miss her. I grew to like her more than I like Joe. I like her sort of crazy much more, I guess, as she seems more impulsive and whimsical. Personally, I believed what she said to Joe at the end about them being perfect for each other. Yet she needed to die because Joe is far too damaged to ever see that. He'll always be on the hunt for new love. He's searching for something impossible, therefore, he'll never find it. Matthew leaving Joe on the floor was fine. Yet I questioned him not calling the police. I don't really care that he left Joe to be tortured by Love. My issue was that he believed Love killed his wife. Wouldn't he want her to pay for that? Joe leaving Henry with Dante was a stroke of genius. He knew Dante and his partner wanted to adopt. I'm surprised Dottie wasn't able to wrangle Forty Jr. away from them, however. Guess she isn't as powerful now that she's divorced? Or she became such a drunken shell she couldn't be trusted with her grandson. Joe's got a little brother! Uh-oh. The toes! There's so much to digest. Done for now. Will definitely be back after more You STANS weigh in.
