  1. It's been a couple of weeks since I watched the show. About 3 months ago, I stopped watching y&r because of the story lines, and I've not been tempted to go back. Looks like the same thing is happening with this show. It's the repetition and tired story lines, which are turning me off.
  2. Today the character of Zende interacted with Finn. For the first time I saw potential in the actor. It was a major change. Maybe most of the Forester characters should be dropped and new characters hired with refreshing story lines. He has been mostly working with the Foresters, and seemed dull until now. After the episode today I would like to see him still on the show but with a new direction, that is working with different actors. The show also had lots of repetition from Brooke/Taylor, Deacon/Sheila, and Thomas/ Liam with the same scene of Sheila and Hayes on today for the first time, reshown two more times in the SAME episode.
  3. It was refreshing to see Li and Finn together today. She lit up the room. Finn is much better without Steffy. Tanner Nolan can actually act. This needs to be Finn and Li's last discussion about Sheila. Since they are both doctors, why not have them working on some project together. There could even be another character brought in to cause problems related to their research. There has to be so many, many creative story lines for bringing people together on the show. Instead we get a poorly written show with repetitive dialogue. That is the reason I've not watched the show this week. I checked in today to see the Logan sisters together. I was sorry once I heard the conversation. Should have expected it. Having Finn, Li, and Hayes was a nice surprise. Completely agree with the comments about the Taylor character. What a waste of space! At this point the only reason I'm watching is to see where they take Li's character. I can work around the show by keeping it on mute while I do other things looking up occasionally to catch the parts I want to see.
  4. I have been watching on and off for a few months. It is doubtful after hearing Alyssa this morning if I can continue to tune in at all. She didn't stick to the topic and deflected a couple of times bringing up things that happened several years ago that weren't comparable during the same segment!
  5. I agree with CharlizeCat about Brook's and Donna's dresses being so nice and how awful Taylor's looked. Did not notice Sheila as I was not paying attention to a lot of those scenes. I also thought the dress on Li was classy and elegant. Beside Li and Donna, Taylor looked trashy. Don't remember much about what Steffy or Hope wore the last couple of days. Most of the time I'm not impressed especially with what Steffy wears. There are some really cute outfits available but they don't even seem to be trying. To use an old expression the clothes wear them, instead of them wearing the clothes.
  6. Watched part of the show today. Douglas had an interesting list of activities. That was a lot to do in one day. Wonder if the activities bribe is big enough for him to want a permanent change. Lol. So no homework and no chores. I recognize it was only one day but it was really out of balance especially with Thomas standing around in the living room talking with other people most of the time. Didn't seem like Thomas spent much time with Douglas, as episode was written. Implication was Douglas watched a Dodger's game by himself. I am not a sports fan but I have been known to sit down with various family members to watch, and if my child had not been living with me full time, I would have spent at least an hour watching the game with him and talking about it. How soon are we going to get a storyline with Douglas spending a lot of time on its own and getting into trouble! True there are no signs of that but in real life that would probably happen. Getting in trouble or being sent off to boarding school is what I expect after this storyline.
  7. After Taylor said something about Thomas "finally" getting his son, I turned off the TV. It seemed to me that Thomas got to be with Douglas anytime he wanted, which wasn't all that much. I'm not sure if I will watch today because I suspect I won't miss anything if I skip an episode.
  8. I agree with so many recent posts on this topic. Quoted this one because that's exactly what I've been doing. The last two days, I read a book and made quick calls most of the show. Unmuted the sound only to hear what Bill and Li were saying. I hope we get a nice romance for once where they get to know each other and form a solid relationship. Wondering how families on both sides will react. I am hoping Katie likes Li and we don't get more triangle fights. Aren't there already enough of those? Wouldn't the change be refreshing. On Steffy's side they can all be outraged and kick rocks.
  9. Looks like I'm back to my old habits. Today I muted the most of the show and didn't pay much attention. IMO, it was boring. If this were real life, Brook would be calling the cabin by now before visiting.
  10. This was a fun episode. I especially enjoyed Adrianne Palicki (Kelly). Early in the series she seemed more of a light weight with the "will they / won't they" stupidity. So glad I got to see her act this last season and to appreciate her acting skills. The part where Claire yelled at John was good. Overall the cast is great IMO. There were many laughs this episode. I will watch next season if there is one. Neither of my sons have seen the show. I'm encouraging them to watch the series. I think they will like it. If it comes back I would like to see a little more of John and Tala, not necessarily together. Together or not, I only want good stories. Lysella looks like she would be a welcome addition.
  11. The last couple of weeks the episodes were very well done. I began to look forward to the show each day. After today's episode, I am wondering if it will soon go back to actors sitting around in the same few sets and the repetitive dialogue. Admittedly, I was half way out the door but the SL and changes brought me back. The scenes with Finn Bill, kids and even those in LA were fine. Not looking forward to main focus being back on Forresters or on tired old plots. New: CountryGirl, I loved all of your asides in post before this one. Too many to repeat but I laughed at every one. They were too good not to point out.
  12. I agree about the momentum. When Li left the room as Liam arrived, my thought was a disgusted one of here we go again with a stupid scene of them just missing each other. Do I really want to keep watching this rubbish! What a pleasant surprise when they came face-to-face. The only downers were Ridge and Taylor being in the episode. I don't usually dislike characters so much but I am tired of them and Brook too. This is saying something because over time there have been long periods (years) when I have not watched the show. This means I missed most of the destiny and Ridge switching between Brook and Taylor but still tired of it quickly.
  13. Is the same director directing the scenes with Finn? TN is doing an outstanding job. I have been getting tired of Sheila but think KB upped her game too. With some of her facial expressions this week, she looks demented. Yay, Li is back. Enjoyed Wyatt and Bill today. l'm tired of Ridge. Taylor and their kids. Nice to see other faces and hear different dialogue.
  14. To answer a question from other posters, there was an article about Mark Jackson a couple weeks ago that seemed to be legitimate. It was stated he is actually in the suit. There is so much disinformation, I try to be careful about what I read. However, since it has been a couple weeks, I don't have the reference and can only tell you what I remember reading.
  15. I have become a casual viewer again keeping sound off for most of the episodes until something comes on that I might want to watch. Today, I actually watched a little more. Liked the detective telling Ridge he didn't want to be berated, at least I think that's what he said because I wasn't quick enough to turn the sound back on. It's about time. I wonder if they got a lot of fan mail and negative reaction about how Ridge was treating him. Enjoyed Deacon and Taylor's conversation towards the end. Liking Nolan Tanner as Finn more in his determination to get away from Sheila.
  16. If the timeline splits with Gordon and his family continuing to exist in the alternative timeline, there are a couple of additional issues that could affect that timeline. The writers were too dismissive about that possibility. Charly and Isaac took two cycles and rode them to another location. What is the possible impact on the future of the former owners? Were the cycles dumped or returned? They mined dysonium. Even if they had removed Gordon from that timeline, what are the repercussions on the new timeline because of their actions? Was there an impact in the future because some dysonium was no longer available? If there was an attempt to hide the shuttle, I missed it. At the start they were attempting to retrieve Gordon from 10 years in the future yet there was little care to hide their actions, which left many plot holes. Despite my criticisms, I did enjoy this episode.
  17. Include my name in the list of people who don't much like time travel episodes, but agree this was one of the better ones. It was another well done episode. Two in a row for me. While I like the idea of John and Tallia getting together, it was handled poorly in this episode. That scene should have been cut just for its stupidity. Yes, two officers would act this way in an open area while working to restore the ship. Lol. Not likely!
  18. Normally I watch a show once, but I watched this episode twice. It was very well done and I was drawn into the story, which rarely happens. The first time I watched the episode, the music reminded me of the music in older movies and I didn't pay much attention to it. The second time through, I was caught up in both the story and the music. This season was a slow start for me, but it gained momentum. Now, I hope there is a season 4.
  19. I just finished season 1 of Orville. I watched the original Star Trek when it was first on. Since then I watched a lot of episodes of Star Trek next Generation, Deep Space Nine and Voyager. Last year, I watched the first season of Discovery, which I didn't care for, though I enjoyed the first episode. To me it was boring. This show was not on my radar because I thought it was more like the Family Guy. As I checked it out this week, the potty humor, as someone else called it, was off-putting. I like the friendly jokes between the characters, many of their aside comments, and how they are building their relationships. A lot of the stories are interesting. I actually think it is a better successor to the original Star Trek than many of the shows in between. Other than the minor stupid attempts at humor I'm beginning to dislike that the captain has obsession with his ex-wife. I have always hated will-they-or-won't-they get together teases. Very tired of that aspect of the series and I hope it is dropped in future episodes.
  20. Tanner is very different in real life. He has a fun and lively personality. Wouldn't it be great for Finn to be more like this!
  21. Alyssa Griffin's wording is shady. For example, saying she is a conservative so she supports the police as if others do not. There are several more examples in just first 10 min. I have been watching the show a little more but I think I'm just about done. I really want to hear both sides with actual facts not twisting words like she does.
  22. I have been watching the show again for the resolution of the Ashland Ashley situation. Allie's support of Diane yesterday was too much. I liked her until that point. There aren't any story lines I am interested in other than the one I mentioned. Over the weekend I found out accidentally that FF is only blocked when you watch a recent episode on demand. If you wait a few days, FF is back. Yay! Anyway, I wanted Allie to be strong and confident. I don't want to watch the mess of what they are turning her into.
  23. I wish I still had a DVR because I would FF through all scenes with Taylor and Ridge.
  24. The mix of different news items in 4th hour today was great. I am not a sports fan but the baseball part was good too. The best part is they did not talk over each other. I could actually follow the conversation. No yelling either. There were interesting topics / tidbits discussed that probably won't be mentioned on any other MSNBC show.
  25. Yesterday's show was much better. We actually enjoyed the last hour. Donny's segment on branding could have been better, if they spent just a little more time on each topic and offered solutions. I didn't like only highlights of up and down. It would not take much to improve that segment.
