    MSNBC

I also agree about the awful hair extensions. Katy's short hair is cute and refreshing. Because of the repetition of commentary on MSNBC, we only watched part of MJ in the morning and about half of Deadline WH later in the day on weekdays. Though that is more than enough time watching TV. Are they combining the Katie Phang and Jonathan Capehart shows on the weekend? I like them together but the show only ran one hour today. They could do 2 hours together, cover more topics and not be so serious all the time. Ali Velshi has started to irritate me with his short almost only one comment from each guest at times. Read an article about Claire McCaskill. She bakes so the desserts behind her are made by her.
  2. It has been months since I've watched this show. Every once in awhile I check in here to see if I'm missing anything. Thanks to the updates I made the right decision. Lol. The only thing I'm probably missing is watching Hope stand up for herself. I would have enjoyed her pushing back. I also saw TN on the Liberty commercials. He comes across as more relaxed and actually looks like he's having fun with the commercial. I think he has potential as an actor.
  3. I agree. The weather reporter needs to slow down. She talks too fast.
  4. I was watching Morning Joe at that time, and I don't recall that Chris was that way. I seem to recall that he appeared occasionally in the control room like Alex. He had a cerebral hemorrhage in 2010. I recall Mika saying something about how much they used to fight about what to put on the show, and she felt terrible that he almost died. He left within a couple of years and went to CBS for a few years. I thought the show went downhill a little after he left. It took some time for them to get going again, and then the pandemic hit. Maybe someone else can remember the details. Seems to me he had a presence that was more in the background, but I was aware of his role.
  5. I enjoy watching Li. She even went back into Sheila's hospital room after Sheila was saved by Finn to make sure Sheila was secure and the guard was actually guarding. Cannot watch another second of most of the other women in the current story lines. They are constantly portrayed in a so unlikable and unrealistic way.
  6. UGH! I wear makeup occasionally, and did the minimum when I worked to look more professional. So while I am not against makeup, my opinion is to put it mildly not very high on the focus on it in our society. This week, I commented to my husband that while I appreciate most of the changes to the show, I was happy that there were no segments on makeup, fashion, or the latest deals for products you can order. So what is presented today? Something about a regular segment on airmail health and beauty. I may have missed the point as I was put off by the topic. Joe mentioned there are many famous people who make a lot of money selling these products. A short while later they were back to Alex Murdaugh. Sigh! Turned off the show at that point though it was almost over.
  7. We used to watch CNN. After too many unnecessary morning host and program format changes, we switched to MJ. I am getting a little tired of the know your value push. It seems more like an elitist way to gain attention. Where is the focus on regular people? Maybe it is there and I am not paying enough attention.
  8. I caught the last half of Joe's special. I agree he did a good job. Maybe it should have been a 2-hour show because the interviews were too short and controlled. The guests were interesting, and I wanted to hear more from them.
  9. Great comments by everyone here. I watched this week. Hate the B- S story line, but so nice to have new dialogue, and more of the cast on the screen. My main complaints are still about the poor writing. Steffy's reactions and support of Hope were refreshing. During the last fashion show, she was pretty nasty to Hope and kept saying (not exact words) this better be successful or else! The writing is all over the place. I can't help but wonder if consistency has no meaning to the writers. Characters don't need to be completely predictable and can be flawed, but I would prefer better stories over extreme personality changes.
  10. Except for a few minutes here and there, I haven't watched the show much lately. It wasn't something I thought about. Watching the show had become a habit. It was nice to see Taylor and Brooke stand up to Ridge recently. I often enjoy Liam's and Wyatt's scenes as brothers. I admit I had expectations of the show improving. It didn't. RuntheTable said it well.
  11. In my initial viewing of the episode, I thought Brooke and Taylor were over the top. I've changed my mind. I can see how two women in this situation were feeling relieved and giddy about what they had done and should have done years ago. Yes, I watched the episode a second time. The actresses were probably happy to finally have new dialogue. They have great chemistry. The last couple of episodes are the first where I can see that Krista can be a good actress, and understand why they hired her. We don't have a window into the direction the show's going. I will treat this as a Christmas gift. The writers have been in a rut. Can they get past it and come up with some new ideas, that don't completely change the characterization of their characters like they are doing with Bill! I agree with CountryGirl because I want to see more shows like this and less fighting over a worthless idiot. Somehow this show fell in a hole by focusing almost exclusively on TODs.
  12. Most times, I barely watch this show. I may actually watch this episode again. It's past time for Brooke and Taylor to stand up for themselves. I just hope the writers don't mess this up going forward. I could have done without Steffy, Finn, Hope and Liam but I guess their conversation served the purpose. I would have loved for them to have opened the door to see their Mom's high-fiving. Looking at Ridge smirking makes you wonder if he believes their decision won't last.
  13. Really liked this part of CRASHCOURSE's post. I couldn't think of the right words for why I was disgusted with the start of Brooke's and Taylor's conversation. Saying Brooke had a lot of nerve to give Taylor a dressing down was perfect. The rest of the conversation when they actually listened to each other was fine. If TK is on sabbatical. I can't help but speculate if Ridge will return married to someone else. Seems like an idea the lack-of-vision writers would come up with.
  14. Most of the show today was an improvement over the norm. It was a wonder that Hope finally told Liam about Thomas trying to kiss her. While I'm neutral towards Brooke and Taylor, perhaps because I don't have a consistent history with either one, the one off putting scene was when Brooke first confronted Taylor. I could understand Brooke being upset that Taylor didn't tell the truth right away, but she should have been more angry at Ridge and not Taylor. As someone said in a post above, Ridge got off easy. It was also good when they actually talked and Taylor said she ran away from Ridge at first but he followed her and said his feelings had nothing to do with Brooke. Does the show have new writers? The last couple of months there's been more truth-telling more quickly than in the last several years. I first noticed it when Donna had to tell Brooke something. She said it right away instead of the audience having to wait through several commercials while she was getting interrupted a few times. The cast is small, but I hope the writers can come up with some new ideas for interesting story lines without the constant breakups.
  15. Finally, Brooke told Ridge to stop with the back and forth. I wish she had been more angry and disgusted with him. Instead, I expect she'll take her anger out on Taylor for not telling Ridge the truth. There is a lot of bad history between the women, and the writers are going down the age old path once again of blaming the other woman. Brooke and Taylor are both at fault, but I bet they will still pine over that loser Ridge hoping he will pick one of them.
  16. While I don't care for Taylor's character, I understand her response after everything Ridge said to her. He lied to her. She was adamant that's she didn't want him, if she was once again second choice because he was upset with Brooke. Instead of being angry with him, it looks like she's going to almost beg him to go through with the marriage. Ugh! As others have said in so many recent posts, honesty looks very good on Steffy. I liked both Li's and Finn's reactions in taking care of the children. Didn't see any mentions, but it was a good scene when Li took Kelly's hand and left the room. Now she's supposed to be in the kitchen baking cupcakes with them. The frank discussion about Bill going after Brooke and then Katie was more true to life and spot on. Now we need a more realistic reaction to Ridge by Taylor and Brooke.
  17. The last few years, I have grown to hate long hair with extensions on actresses. Actresses who have long hair and wear it without extensions look so much better. There are many cute short hairstyles. It depends on the face structure of women as to whether they should wear their hair long or short. Long hair on some women sometimes make their faces look longer and less attractive. I agree that Brooke looks lots better in short hair. I actually watched yesterday's (on demand)and today's show, which I haven't done in a while given the repetition. I don't get emotionally involved in shows, but when Thomas came in the room and Douglas shifted behind Steffy seeking protection, it bothered me to see him so afraid. As an off and on watcher, Katie has always been a favorite of mine. Some people don't like her character, but I don't have that history since I missed so much of the show. Isn't it great that one woman on the show it's not allowing herself to be pushed back and forth over a man. What's going on with Brooke, Taylor and Ridge is crazy especially in this day and age. Though I doubt many self-respecting women would have put up with it in past generations either. Society today is different and there's more emphasis on women being independent and valuing themselves. You wouldn't get that from watching this show. From the stories I've heard about my great grandmother, someone like Ridge wouldn't have lasted long in her life or that of any of her female relatives. Lol.
  18. Did they forget about the audience again this morning? I got nothing out of segment with Andy Cohen. Joe and Mika over talked Andy and each other the entire time. I still enjoy many interviews but am tired of this annoying habit.
  19. Agree. I couldn't watch. Put TV on mute. Didn't care if I missed other segments too because I wasn't paying enough attention. What I caught was Steffy's snoty attitude towards the line with constant negative comments like Hope better pull this out which I guess implied HFTF was done completely if preview show was not a success. I disliked the clothes. They looked old fashioned more like 1980s. I didn't think they were classy or elegant.
  20. Today's show was more enjoyable than I expected. Did not mind seeing the old scenes since I had not seen them before, and to my surprise enjoyed the Sheila / Deacon parts of the episode. Towards the end I was thinking yay because no Steffy, Thomas, Ridge, Taylor, Brooke, or Hope. Then prior scenes with Steffy showed up. I agree with posts about Liam either staying at Eric's or keeping Beth with him. Maybe stupid (have to call her that one more time because of her actions lately) Hope needs to worry a little bit more about a custody suit for Beth. I really like the suggested idea in this forum that Liam and Hope are pushing to find out Thomas's true intentions, but I don't think the writers are that creative.
  21. OMG after what happened today with stupid Hope, I think I've gone over the edge. Why doesn't Liam keep Beth home with him? Are these women really part of this era? I'm going to stop because I think I'm about to rant. Lol. I have always liked Katie though I missed many years of the show as I stopped watching at times. Katie at least told Bill no and it's not putting up with any of his nonsense. Looking forward to reading many comments here on today's show that will voice my outrage.
  22. Brand up/down segment was on this morning. Now that there is an explanation (unlike when it was introduced with only up or down but no comments) I like to hear what is said. Today, Mika and Willie talked over Donny. It might as well be dropped if you can't hear the reasons!
  23. I was put off by most of what happened in today's episode, and the Ridge / Taylor scenes at the end of last week. Have to admit I enjoyed Katie and Carter. I was ready to drop the show completely after the scene with Hope and Thomas. If it is a dream sequence, I'll give the show a few more days. I thought it was fine when Liam left but then he came back and poor poor Brooke ended up in his arms. UGH! I'll see what happens to both those couples, but this time I'm ready to drop the show completely. I have to admit that the only thing I'm interested now is how Thomas gets caught. I can't even describe how disgusted I am if they are moving in the direction of Hope / Thomas and Liam/ Brooke. Like somebody said recently, one foot is out the door. I've tried not to express that here, but I am appalled by the awful writing!
  24. I can relate to what RUNTHETABLE says in her post above. I watched Friday's episode to catch some of the other characters that don't get much screen time. Didn't pay attention when Ridge, Taylor, or Brooke were on. Liked Katie telling Bill she wasn't interested in getting back together. IMO this should be the last time they have that discussion. There have been several posts suggesting other SLs, which could bring people together in different, interesting ways. I can't understand the narrow focus of this show.
  25. I realize your text is close to mine but this is worth repeating. This is one repeat I won't get tired of. Based on the spoilers, I decided to watch today's show after missing a few weeks of episodes. After the first few minutes, I turned off the tv. 🤮 I couldn't do it.
