  1. The number of shootings is already ridiculous. For that reason, I'm on the fence about the show, but will watch a couple more episodes before deciding whether to drop it or not.
  2. I didn't enjoy this episode. There are too many commercials, which are taking away from the show. I switch channels more because of the long interruptions, and sometimes almost forget to switch back.
  3. In the last year, Mika often used this over dramatic voice that I found irritating. Hearing her normal voice this morning, I appreciate the difference, and remember that this is how she used to sound. It is much better and reminds me of when we first started to watch MJ.
  4. Tulsi Gabbard is rather strange. I get her point about understanding the interests of other countries, but she refused to say anything negative about Assad. She could have at least commented on the internal strife of that country and the shame of millions of people being displaced.
  5. I think I found what "free jobs" means. It may be a reference to government-assured jobs. My husband said the same thing. I was hoping someone would ask him how he would fix the country and work together with the two parties running the Senate and House but no one asked that question. I don't expect him to get far, but then, what do I know as I thought the same thing about some other candidate a couple years ago.
  6. Howard Schultz is on MJ. There were a couple of things that I did not understand. What did he mean by Democrats wanting "free jobs" for people, which he objects too? Also, he spoke about the VA having a $200 billion budget. Did he approve of it, or think it was too high?
  7. I can't answer your question because I felt the same way for part of the interview and was shaking my head over it. Some of the interview was hard to understand with Joe interrupting so much and cutting off points Chris was making. Chris said you need to give Trump a range of good people to choose from to get a good choice for a position while seeming not blaming Trump. Was he even listening to what he was saying? Trump selected / approved the people in the lead roles. Trump is responsible. Willie and Nike's questions were shorter, straight to the point and they didn't interrupt Chris. The discussion was better. Yet again, another reference was made by Joe to Trump being a Democrat and contributing to Democrats in the past. Sorry Joe, He ran as a Republican and won as a Republican and has all the Republican Senators and Representatives supporting whatever he does! You can't get rid of him that easily.
  8. You are so right. The last couple of weeks, people seemed so shocked and upset. I keep saying to my husband, didn't we know this already? We already knew that Trump was meeting with Putin on his own without his staff. Over the last couple of weeks, Joe also again worked into the conversation that Trump was a Democrat first. I have commented on this before that Mr Trump Opportunist did not get into office as a Democrat. Perhaps I should ignore his comments but every time he says it, I want to throw something at the TV. Am I missing something? Is there some reason Joe keeps making these statements?
  9. If the show returns, I hope it gets a better time slot. I dislike the show before it and only tolerate the other earlier shows. I prefer to watch it when it first airs and wish it was available on demand around 8pm the same day so I could watch it on my time. It would be great if all shows were on demand at the start of each evening so you could watch in your preferred order. CBS does not put their shows on demand until about a week later. I really like Faith Ford as an actress but never warmed up to her Corky character though it may be due to the writing for the character. Her part in the dog episode was good. I like the way she has called out Murphy on different episodes. This episode, I didn't much care for the Pence story line except for the part that women working for him find it harder to get ahead.
  10. The scenes with Avery in Kabul were well done. The scene I liked the best was when Miles stopped Murphy from going after Diana. The ones with Bennie were fun. He has been a perfect addition to the show. Overall, the episode fell flat for me. I didn't care much for the New Year's and party part of the story line.
  11. Yesterday, Joe once again commented that before he was a Republican, Trump was a Democrat. It seems he is trying to imply that Trump is a Democrat at heart. So, what is the point? The Democrats didn't put Trump in power. Trump is now the head of the REPUBLICAN party! It was annoying when they spoke over the reporter trying to give an update on Trump's foundation. It went on far too long. Joe finally brought them back to the reporter. I had been wanting more details on the alleged misdeeds. We heard that Trump has to sell two pictures of himself and a football helmet he bought with charity money. Apparently he thought it was acceptable since he bought these items from another charity. James Langford seemed to imply that speaker-to-be Pelosi won't negotiate over the wall because she doesn't take office until 2019 as if she was in the wrong. At least that is how I perceived his comments. Did anyone else catch this?
  12. I enjoyed Bennie's new trick and seeing Avery's room. The scene I liked the best was hearing about the old days as they sat around the table in Phil's bar while Avery took it all in. This is the only episodic show I watch and I am really going to miss it. The relationship between Murphy and Avery continues to be the best part of the show. I like how Murphy dresses in a more comfortable style at home, which makes it more realistic. The actor who plays Frank has become more relaxed and is doing a great job with his line delivery. I always liked the actress playing Phyllis but don't care for her role on this show.
  13. Willie, Mike B, and Eugene Robinson did a nice job pushing back on Roger Marshall, Kansas representative. It could have been better but since I haven't seen them do this before I give them credit for the attempt. It is past time for cable hosts to question people who spew out wild statements that have no validity. Kudos to them.
  14. Joe reminded the audience yet once again that while Trump may be a Republican he was once a Democrat. I say he was neither. He is an opportunist.
  15. The show was really good tonight. I don't know when I last laughed so much as I did during this episode. Hoping Benny will be a regular.
  16. The show must have done something right! We are still talking about it.
  17. I agree with RIA, Pat was the "weak spot". I liked his character up until now but he is becoming obnoxious.
  18. Congratulations to Joe and Mika. It looks like they had a nice wedding with friends and family in a special location.
  19. Ivanka knows better than to use private email. How can she not know after the way the Republican party including Trump went after Hillary. I was shocked when I first heard about Hillary's private email server but there is a context that is easy to forget when you consider the timing of when she was in office, at least for those who served prior to Hillary's time in office. I was conflicted by what Hillary did but instead of spending millions of dollars to no purpose investigating her, after the first one, Congress should have instead taken it as a lesson learned and put laws in place for those in office going forward. What happened was a complete waste of our taxpayer money! Regarding the correspondent's dinner and comic host, I saw that segment on MJ. The coarse, vulgar humor of the comics belongs in private clubs and not at a public event such as this. Insult humor has gotten more mean and prevalent. I agree with Joe and Willie on this topic.
  20. That segment on the California fire with Louis Burgdorf was powerful and sad. The video was very well done.
  21. Really Mika! You say Hillary should have shown more sympathy towards Monica! This is bizarre. I never liked Bill or Monica. They had an affair. She was 24 when it ended, not a child as Mika is implying. I might be more sympathetic if Monica hadn't resurfaced during Hillary's run for office. Monica was all over the news for a few weeks in 2016. Now we have this documentary. Is this a last try for more fame and money? I can understand how Monica would be bitter but she wasn't a little girl. What she had to deal with in the aftermath of the affair was extremely difficult. I am sure she suffered especially from being in the spotlight and feeling adrift. However it was a consequence of her poor choices and not Hillary's fault. It looks like Monica wants to be viewed as a victim. I don't plan on watching the documentary.
  22. That commercial has run abut 3 times since I've been watching. It reminds me of bad movie clips I've seen from the 1950's and earlier. Is Frankenstein on it too!
  23. Admittedly I've been getting a little tired of am Joy the last couple of months. It didn't seem as good as it had been initially. It became more like the quick-hit topic shows with four to six panelists who each only speak remotely for a minute or so. Today's show was much better than it has been recently. She's spent more time with the guests. This show was informative. Most guests were on the set with her. MSNBC shows really overuse bringing in people via webcams and splitting the screen into panels to show them all at the same time. I also agree with previous comments about cutting off people who use diversion and talk over other guests even after they have had their say without being interrupted. Joy has always done a really good job of handling those type of guests.
  24. On Murphy Brown this week, one of the characters was having trouble presenting in front of the camera. He knew his election data but froze in front of the camera. Towards the end he overcame and was able to present in front of a map similar to Kornacki. Murphy responded with the Kornacki reference. I am enjoying the show especially the relationship between Murphy and her son and many of the one liners. I finally saw the commercial about voting for kids that was shown earlier on MJ. Danny Deutsch was on Nicole Wallace's Deadline Whitehouse. It was well done.
  25. I'm not surprised Noah Rothman brought up the question of whether a Democrat would vote for Nancy Pelosi. Why don't the Democrats find a way to push back on that question! One response would be to talk about how the Republicans vilify competent women. One thing about the Republicans is that they pick their targets early and keep at it for years.
