  1. I forgot to mention Alexis Denisof! At least we know what happened to Wesley when he died. I'm guessing the fact that his character is called Adam is no coincidence?
  2. Yeah I thought the episode was pretty dull, but the casting of Veronica Cartwright was inspired.
  3. I loved Dorcas' dress in the dark maypole dance, but she raped Nick - or at least that's what it looked like it was heading towards. Hope it gets addressed. Glad that Hilda and Zelda are both getting some romance.
  4. I am so glad that Salem's okay! Having lots of kitties (real ones) myself, his plaintive meow really got to my poor heart. Glad that Sabrina and Harvey are off again, I much prefer her with Nick, and Harvey has a ton more chemistry with Roz. Loved Miss Wardwell's tears at seeing herself in the play (which by the way had fabulous costumes). There's a lot of history there. Wonder what she's going to do now what I assume is her familiar is back - I always saw her as the corrupter in the first half of the season, so it's going to be interesting seeing her trying to keep Sabrina on the straight and narrow - even if it's self-serving.
  5. That was my first thought too. I mean I get that Sabrina wanted to help her friend, but it's not going to help in the long run (and I suspect we might see that play out). I know next to nothing about basketball but I haven't seen many short people playing competitively, and Susie/Theo is a short person. Principal Wardwell's observing was interesting - she was clearly keen for Theo to try out but whether it was just a gender thing or she had her own nefarious reasons is something I hope we get clarity on. I suspect her watching the tryouts was more about Sabrina than Theo. The trial was interesting - I liked that Sabrina got help from the Weird Sisters and that she and Nick weren't really that competitive and ended up working together. There were some nice scenes in the episode and I'm glad the show is back, but the 'men are oppressing women' thing was laid on far too thick. More subtlety please.
  6. The show had better get renewed for a fourth season so we find out what happens to Joel. Sheila bit him so he should become undead, but the first thing that happens is the 'insane amount of vomit' (thank you Gary) with their own Mr Ball Legs, so does that mean that Joel now has two Mr Ball Legs? Are they fighting for control of Joel? Liked that Gary not only set up the Hammonds' real estate empire using a headset from the basement, but that he also pitched for a new job! Thank you, teleworking. I must admit I didn't even notice the Fillion/Tudyk change which is a testament to how well it was done. Also loved Lisa going all momma bear to protect Eric and clearing out Dan's closet to put the FBI lady off, then chewing Eric and Abby out over their actions.
  7. More absolutely wild fake names from Joel & Sheila: Charles and Helen Darwin. Ray Eastman...Kodak. Sometimes I laugh so hard at these I miss subsequent dialogue. Were there any more?
  8. Some more (semi-spoilery) thoughts on the whole season: Yeah the Ron/Jean/Tommy power walk was awesome, and it was nice that Sheila and Joel have friends who are loyal enough to go and rescue them. Abby/Eric's defeat of the two Serbian henchmen was good too - I mean we know that Abby's a badass but Eric distracting them by offering himself was also brave and funny. Dr Luka and the henchmen were used exactly the right amount - enough to be amusing, but not so much that they outstayed their welcome (Umbrella Academy, take note). At the end of the day I'm here for the Hammonds + Eric. Sheila pulling herself along the pole that had impaled her was the only time I've had to wince and look away in this series.
  9. Well I may have just binged the entire thing and will now have to wait another 12 months! Have to say the trailer wasn't doing it for me and I was a bit worried but I absolutely adored the season. I won't spoil too much as we only have a single thread, but between the flossing kid, the (apparently immortal) Dr Luka and HOLY SHIT THAT ENDING I thought it was hilarious and brilliant.
  10. I probably sound like a prude but I'd be really embarrassed listening to someone reading out all those sex scenes, otherwise I'd get them in a heartbeat.
  11. I agree he wouldn't be much use in fights - but really helpful in murder investigations!
  12. I like this idea if we can't have separate threads for each episode. I had to stop reading the thread until I'd seen the entire season, which meant that I forgot some things that I meant to post about (I have a shocking short-term memory).
  13. Same - I'm okay with Luthor/Allison but not if they're actually biological (half-) siblings. I don't need to see Flowers in the Academy.
  14. The trailer looks absolutely terrible. So much bad acting.
  15. Sorry, should probably have said 'new promo pics'. The 'announcement' ones were months ago. Surely they must have new stuff by now - why aren't they taking advantage of Olivia Colman's Oscar nomination to pimp the show?
  16. That's the problem with a power like Allison's, which is why I suspect we got the whole guilt trip about using her powers on her daughter plot so we only saw her use them in an emergency. Basically the only thing stopping her from ruling the world is her own conscience. It's why I'm glad the writing/acting made Allison a nice/empathic person - because she could easily have been a walking bitch cliché. It's almost the Superman problem - you make him practically invincible, so then you have to invent Kryptonite.
  17. I know! I'd be happy with a teaser trailer, promo pics, anything! It's all been very quiet.
  18. Yeah I got very strong Grace Kelly vibes too and assumed the same. The actress was amazing to pull off all the robotic stuff of seeming almost but not really human (as well as being absolutely stunning in the looks department). Given the flashback we had, which wasn't really explained at all (rockets taking off - so he's an alien/human from another planet or time?), plus the fact that he ages very slowly - he seemed to arrive in the US in the 20s - I'm guessing there's more backstory to get from Reginald. I realised after the show ended that I am a total hypocrite because I was completely "ugh - this is incest" when they clearly intended to shack up Barry and Iris over on The Flash but didn't have an issue with Luthor/Allison here. Maybe it was due to the unconventional upbringing. Also that phone box scene, where Luthor dropped the speech she gave him to read to her daughter and then basically told her daughter all the things he felt about Allison slayed me. Yes it was corny as hell but I was blubbing like a baby.
  19. Because her throat was slit, but despite the amount of blood it didn't include the carotid artery so she was up and about (including sprinting for her life) within 24 hours. Dramatic licence I suppose. It's not realistic but I like Allison so personally I'm hand-waving it. Also I COVET her dress during the dream Luther/Allison dance sequence. It was simple but lovely.
  20. I really liked this show, the pieces came together really well. Yes, it was screamingly obvious that 1) Leonard was a villain, 2) Vanya had secret powers and 3) Vanya was going to be responsible for the apocalypse in some way, but the whole thing was done so well I didn't care. The music was fab, the casting was inspired, and I really need to know how they made Pogo. There were a few things that bugged - the Hazel/Cha-Cha thing got annoying towards the end, Allison's writing speed seemed to be really slow at times and unfeasibly rapid at others, Vanya was IMO too unsympathetic (or maybe Allison was too sympathetic in their confrontations) and the show was a little too "Yah, wait till next year" in setting things up. But these are small quibbles. I hope there's a second season - so many questions to answer, like how do they stop the apocalypse, where (or when) did Hazel and Donut Lady *poof* to, who are the guys in armour and red goggles, and what about all the other children who were born on the same day? Given that they seemed to be resetting to children, this presumably means they're going back in time to fix Vanya. Hopefully it means more Pogo and 'Mom'/Grace.
  21. I don't like him much but Philip would hardly be the only elderly person for whom it took a shock to the system (i.e. accident) before he realised that he probably shouldn't be in charge of a motor vehicle. Thankfully no-one was seriously hurt. I don't understand why he carried on - if I had someone who would drive me around anywhere I wanted at a moment's notice I'd just be slumped in the back seat constantly, asleep or drunk (probably both). The idiocy on the roads has long since destroyed any joy I might have had in driving. Of course my argument is slightly underlined by the fact that he was seen driving again soon afterwards, so maybe he was determined to carry on and it was a family intervention (as is so often the case also). I would have thought someone of his outdated attitudes would be more likely to listen to his sons or his grandsons than his wife, even if she is the Queen!
  22. "Because plot". You might as well ask why Bree and Roger didn't travel together to Fraser's Ridge when they met up, tell Jamie and Claire about the fire, then go and find some gemstones to travel back with if J&C didn't have any. More plot from having them bicker and be separated leading to rape-and-paternity-drama and The Misunderstanding (I don't object to the bicker - Roger had it coming - but what it led to...ugh. Gabaldon does a massive swerve from the first couple of books into full-on melodrama).
