  1. The watch case would have been justified if Bulgari had just replaced the screw for $300+ but they did a whole lot of other stuff besides--as someone pointed out it is kind of like going in for a headlight, have them loose a screw and then expecting the person to pay for a whole front end. We actually do call our dog, 'the dog' and he doesn't seem to mind. He actually gives us kissies because he knows we have two kids but he is THE dog or so he tells us. We used to live next to someone who would let their Pom wander. It may have been their sweet pocket puppy but everyone else called him the Cuisinart. He was a flying furry missile with teeth, not a pleasant dog--and yes he did take on very large dogs.
  2. I may have been the person who published the links. 3. Tonight's episode sent me to http://www.mcmansionhell.com/ to see how many McMansion points they accumulated. I get so annoyed at people who say for our budget we want XY and Z but insist on a neighborhood that they can only buy X. In the end those huge houses are often more of a boat anchor than a home.
  4. Since Lady Fancybottoms had delusions of being suppliers to the Queen, I checked the list of Royal warrants to see who provides the Queen with her bowl cleaners--answer Procter and Gamble.. And from her comment about how rough they are living in LA I was expecting a hovel-here is a piece about her home http://thegracetales.com/at-home-in-la-with-murchison-humes-max-kater/
  5. I am confused on the van case, since the Judge gave the plaintiffs what they paid for the van, does the now defendant get to keep the van?
  6. The winning look reminded me too much of my daughter's Kaylee Frye (Firefly) cosplay costume.. I guess if you want to get an idea how it would look on all body times just look for pictures from SciFi conventions.
  7. I too have moved a number of times. Every move we have made required a ream of paperwork with all sorts of waivers, rate explanations and restrictions. The last move I hired it was a nationally known brand name mover after several moving estimates. Unfortunately, they subcontracted it out to a cut rate juggling troupe because they dropped at least a dozen items, smoked inside of the truck and even sat on a box marked fragile. The shocking thing only one item was broke. It was a piece of particle board kids dresser that I bought when my kids were toddlers. It wasn't even worth turning into insurance. I find that particle board items will possibly survive one move but two is kind of pushing it, this was that dressers third move. Hint to anyone moving, take pictures often, of them packing, loading the truck, the truck loaded, so on. I know of a certain subcontractor mover who is no longer going to get another contract thanks to all the pictures we sent the name company.
  8. I believe they were on cupcake wars.
  9. The mechanic should have given her back the car then filed a mechanic's lien for the repairs. I was more annoyed that JJ gave the woman back all she had paid them for 2 separate repairs. I have been watching really old JJ shows and I am shocked by the difference in the show. Currently she is like a person who would rather be anywhere but there and gives everyone short shrift. BTW that 30 year old truck is considered a 'classic' and the classic truck market is extremely hot. The guy who gave them $200 will be laughing to the bank when he gets it restored. http://www.nadaguides.com/classic-cars/1989/gmc/s15/1-2-ton-jimmy-utility-4wd/values
  10. I seriously wish that JJ would stop handling car repair cases. She is absolutely totally ripped off the car repair shop in the first case I saw today.
  11. Some of his homes were livable--am I right that you owned perhaps either a Usonian or an American System built? I grew up near a Usonian and it was the nexus of my love for FLW. Others unfortunately have become white elephants for their owners--it costs a fortune to add things like AC which makes life a lot easier but they have to do it sympathetically and under the watchful eyes of preservation societies
  12. I loved the older version of T&T because it was so snarkable. This new version makes me sad because it is based on such mean spiritness. Clueless was fun, mean is not. The parents deserve every amount of scorn they get for taking part in the show but the children are victims who I suspect are being told to either act a certain way or say certain things. After all these are pageant kids who are used to doing certain behaviors to get approval. Cadence's moms make me feel better about my self. I am totally weepy when it comes to things like award ceremonies and my kids though I keep it tightly contained everyone knows not to speak to me when I get 'that look' or I'm going to lose it--HS graduations were an ordeal not to totally embarrass them. It's nice to be able to point those parents out to my daughters and say--see I'm not the only one.
  13. Every color out there has more than one cause associated with it. Each cancer even has it's own color and some colors more than one cancer. I thought the many of the patterned dials and bands looked way too juvenile but the price tag was way too adult.
  14. Perhaps his low energy was because he was just starting to feel ill from Lymphoma. They had become engaged by time the follow up was filmed. I got to say I loved the quirky house with the purple kitchen and green fireplace but I would never ever buy it because it looked practically impossible to live in. It's kind of like Frank Lloyd Wright houses--they are way cool to see but many are livable today.
  15. Why didn't the plantiff in the car case just ask Judge Judy to amend his case for the amount paid, then pull out his new engine, drop in the old and any other parts he put on it then return the car as he purchased it. I wish Judge Judy didn't handle car cases, it just shows that x number of years at law school does not make you an expert in the value of cars. She needs to learn to use the online KBB that gives prices from a car based on the region the purchaser is--not the printed one which is outdated before it hits the shelf.
  16. Personally I don't think a person would invest in as many food businesses as Marcus has if he didn't have a deep interest in food and cooking. There are a lot of other businesses that are less risky than restaurant or food related businesses. If you miss a changing trend in consumer tastes or even refuse to change because it's the way you want to cook, you are going to face an empty restaurant regardless how good your food is. . Diners are just going to find another place to eat that fits their needs better and you will be out of business As for why someone like Dave would appear on TV--it speaks to a serious lack of self awareness. He just doesn't see a problem with how he does business or apparently lives his personal life so he doesn't care what havoc he causes in other people's lives (his wife, employees and business associates) as long as he is content.
  17. And he was I believe correct. Grandparent visitation orders can only be made when the parents are divorced or getting a divorce so in order to get the Grandparent visitation he would first have to get the parents in court for a divorce. My inlaws tried to demand grandparents rights years ago and found that there was no such thing
  18. I think space cadet had significant hearing loss he was wearing very visible hearing aids and spoke like a few people I know who are nearly deaf. It doesn't excuse how foolish it was to come to court after signing an agreement not to though.
  19. The best I could make out was that the picked puppy didn't have the right DNA markers for color. She mentioned AA genes which a bit of googling gave me AyAy and A series genes in French bulldogs which has to do with the color of the dogs. I'm not a dog expert but those dogs looked to be what I found is called blue tricolor which is not a breed standard color so I have no idea why the dogs were so valuable. Perhaps someone else knows more? Then again I found this http://www.westcoastrarebulldogs.com/puppies-available.html which shows people will pay a fortune for 'rare' colors even though the breed standards call for not breeding for 'fad colors.'
  20. You probably should have seen the case because the plaintiff wasn't suing because of ghosts, she was suing for her deposit that the landlord was keeping. One of the things the landlord claimed was that the plaintiff was burying candles that caused smokey smut on the walls and ceiling because of the resident ghost the landlord admitted existed on site and was called Charlie. Both sides seemed perfectly comfortable with Charlie but couldn't stand each other.
  21. I thought so too then realized 'that one kid' was most likely a girl.
  22. Dropping a flat screen and throwing something at a flat screen are going to cause totally different damages. Dropping it so it falls pretty much flat is like having someone step on you foot wearing sneakers--the weight is distributed over a big area. Throwing dice would be like someone stepping on your foot with stiletto heels. It's going to hurt.
  23. Actually I thought the parents had good points about the furniture and balcony in the apartment they didn't select. They didn't want that particular apartment because the furniture was very high end and not kid friendly not so much as a safety matter but expensive and appeared fragile. Kids need to be able to live in a space and not constantly have to worry about the furniture. It's one thing to have one or two rooms that are off limit for every day play because of better furniture but not the whole apartment. Also that swimming pool was absolutely scary looking for a family for young kids-when filled it would be one of those infinity edge types--in a high rise. I have to admit that like that mother I am afraid of heights and I could never have been comfortable even with my nearly grown kids in it, no matter what other problems there might have been.
  24. I have yet to see an armadillo in our neighborhood but raccoons, opossums, and wood rats are common enough. I hope they realize they had better scatter when the yard light goes on, the cats seem to be fear junkies and wait for the last moment to flea . Funny thing is that our dog only seems to be bothered by cats and squirrels. We moved to Texas from a desert area so a lot of the local fauna puzzles him on whether it is friend or foe.
