  1. I love even when an expert tells them something that doesn't fit their agenda --like how the triangle rock they found in the last show, is natural--they immediately spin it into something different. An expert tells them that a cross was Portuguese, it had to now be a different Knight order connected to the Templars. Not to mention all of these carved stones they keep finding have very crisp lines for weathering centuries of exposure.
  2. I swear I was rolling my eyes so hard over this week's show that I pulled muscles.
  3. I found this--it helps explain a few things. http://bangordailynews.com/2015/07/31/business/charles-inn-owner-hotel-impossible-didnt-close-big-easy-lounge/
  4. The point is that it wasn't she didn't make her case, she didn't prove that her hair loss was caused by chemical damage. Chemical damage causes hair to break because it is weak but it doesn't stop the hair from growing. Alopeica is going to look and feel very different from hair loss from chemical damage.
  5. An enlightening article about ax vrs ask http://www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/people-have-been-saying-ax-instead-ask-1200-years-180949663/?no-ist
  6. Relaxers will fade out hair color so it doesn't matter if she had done it before, it would mostly been gone. I did a bit of reading and coloring hair right after a relaxer will cause scalp burning. It's just too much chemicals for one day--not to day that it could have been the relaxer who damaged the hair-it's a strong chemical that works by breaking down the bonds in hair and allowing you to rearrange them--you are left with weakened hair that can no longer be handled the same. The plaintiff didn't connect the dots to show the relaxer and only the relaxer damaged her hair.
  7. What the doctor's report didn't say was alopecia caused by chemical burning or contact which is what you would expect if the hair loss was caused by the chemicals a hair stylist used. Also even though it may take forever to get into a dermatologist, she could have gone to a GP to look at her head while there were sores, if they existed or even gone to another stylist to look at her head because I"m pretty sure another stylist would recognized hair damaged by a process. There are ways to prove that a stylist caused hair damage and this plaintiff did none of them.
  8. I believe I read also if you lose the judgement doesn't show on your credit history but to most of JJ's guests I would be willing to bet that isn't a factor.
  9. Didn't she start off her testimony saying she had cancer and was getting radiation treatment?
  10. Kids suffer losses all their of their lives, pets die, people move, die or just fade out of their life. It's part of life and no matter what, you are unable to protect them from it. Bill and Jen will always provide a strong core family that will help them all through the rough spots in life. Besides nothing says that the film crew and other people associated with the show will drop totally out of the scene. There is no reason they can't remain friends. Also it seems obvious they aren't in the Klein houses night and day for very long extended times so the film crews could be viewed like family or friends that come over for a few days and then leave.
  11. Way back in the early days (1980's) TLC really was a learning channel sort of like if you took all the Discovery channel shows and rolled them into one channel, over time they divided out different types of shows to their own channels like animal planet or history, Now TLC is left in the network stable with no real purpose so it become their reality showcase following unique families or people but it is starting to border on the modern equivalent of a circus freak show at times I really like the Little Couple but I suspect it is because of the influence of Bill and Jen making sure they use it as a platform to teach about what life is like for people who are vertically challenged. (I am 4'10 myself). I really liked the Q&A show because they answered one of the questions I always wanted to ask--do they prefer people to kneel down and talk at an 'eye to eye' level. I understood first hand about the point about tall people not understanding when you are talking to shorter people you need to give them more personal space.
  12. Maybe they might consider going back to Learning?
  13. Shibas are escape artists. It can not be said enough. You could have a six foot fence and they are going to find a way out, over or under. They scale cyclone fences like they are ladders. They are hunters by nature and active. If you leave them in the yard to get bored, they are going to get out and find something interesting. On the other hand they are loving, quirkly smart dogs, great little watch dogs and if properly socialized, great with kids and other animals.
  14. We had a Shiba Inu who crossed the rainbow bridge at the age 16. They can be excellent dogs but it's all in the training and being consistant. Unfortunately they've become trendy which means they are going to be ending up in homes with people who just can't handle them. They are very bright dogs with a high prey drive and should never be off lead. They are also escape artists and run like the wind when they do get out. They are great dogs when raised right.
  15. Or the son was ignored by his father who left his mother for the step son's mother. The point is we don't know the family dynamics. The one thing we do know is the it that the father left the property to the son. He could have left it to both the son and stepson or just the step son. but he chose the son. Also JJ walked over the son saying that even though he didn't visit, they talked often.
  16. Boy did I take the step brother case different from a lot of other people. The defendant was the man's son, the plaintiff sounds like he had been mooching off his step father for a long time. Sure the son didn't have a let's go visit dad kind of relationship but his father had been out of his life from a very early age but that doesn't make him a bad son, despite the way Judge Judy acted.
  17. I am so tired of hearing Judy Judge rant about checks. Hubby and I have a checking account, have had one for years but the only time we write checks is for the local school because they won't take debit cards. Everything else in our life is paid by debit cards or cash drawn out on the debt card. I have had the same check blanks in my check book for 3 years and in 3 years I have written 16 checks. It's a different world out there.
  18. What the heck did the Barbie airhead say in the halterview?
  19. It looks like Judge Judy's famous liar detector was out of order because she failed to smell out this scammer. Make sure you read the comments http://www.kctv5.com/story/28874421/coaches-no-longer-at-high-school-after-alleged-racial-remarks
  20. Puppies who have recently been vaccinated will give a false positive test for parvo--or actually the test will pick up the trace of live parvo virus in the vaccine. The vet should have done a second test before he 'diagnosed' parvo, if that is what happened. Also you shouldn't just switch a dog's food, a lot of dogs it won't bother but some it can really through their system into a tailspin. We had a dog that way and every time we had to switch him (he had allergies) we would start by putting a few kibbles of the new in and each day adding just a few more, until you are giving 100% of the new food. Our other dog doesn't have a sensitive stomach and we can switch him over much quicker, 1/4 new, 3/4 old for a few days, 1/2 and 1/2 for a few days...
  21. I'm pretty sure they were on Judge Brown as well.
  22. Am I crazy or has today's case of the friend showing up for a plate of food and crashing into the TV been shown before on at least 2 other judge shows. I'm pretty sure it was on Judge Joe and one other.
  23. Thanks shelley1005. He even looked more devilish when our local station screwed up the collor. He became blue with a bright blue shirt with orange eyes. The tattoos on his head really stood out but were unreadable. Creepy is the right word to describe him
  24. Can someone tell me how today's first case ended? It was a lawyer suing his client. The defendant was wearing weird contacts and a bright red shirt. Our local station had all sorts of problems with color (everthing was blue and orange) then clipped the case ending. Thanks
