  1. That phrase was used a lot in many of the early NCIS episodes when Gibbs had conflicts with military command as well as director Vance. In fact, the season 11 premiere had that title.
  2. The plan was for the sniper team to take simultaneous shots, but the bullets don't hit the windshield at the same time. The first shot will weaken the glass. The second shot takes out the terrorist. Ray was in control of the call to take the shots before giving out the execute command to Bravo team to blow out the landing gear. The Brit sniper set his rifle first before Clay and he took the shot a split second before Clay. I didn't see any issue with what Clay did during the sniper team shooting sequence.
  3. Season 6: The First Five Minutes - The Blacklist (Sneak Peek) https://youtu.be/jU-Mmw_SXx8
  4. Myasthenia Gravis? (MG) is a long-term neuromuscular disease that leads to varying degrees of skeletal muscle weakness. My wife was diagnosed with that disease in early college years, but she only needed pain meds when she got shingles some years later. I wish you the best in health for the upcoming year and many years thereafter.
  5. The Pauley alleged issue was with Harmon and not about sexual misconduct. Of course, the show execs did not respond to her concerns, but she is supporting a friend which is not surprising. Alexander had issues with the show producer which would not keep her from giving support to Weatherly as well.
  6. Maybe Delilah and the twins are killed in a traffic accident when she drives the kids in a specially equipped van to visit her family. McGee can then take a cot at NCIS headquarters and he would never miss a case. The writers can just skip the excuses.
  7. It is a real shame what the new producers have done with the McGee ghost family of Delilah and the twins since the passing of show runner Glasberg. The writers come forward with a baby story that is not plausible for the most part while nothing ever happens with McGee to include his own family and any related responsibilities supporting a disabled wife especially during the holidays. Instead, the viewers just get a lot of BS about McGee not missing work. I only continue to watch the show now for Palmer and Kasie.
  8. This episode moves the series into ‘Shades of Blue” territory with Voight becoming more like his counterpart, Lt Matt Wozniak, in that series whose ongoing job was keeping his band of detectives out from under police scrutiny after a team member goes rogue on a case. In this instance, all of them become complicit in a suspect death. There is no way Antonio keeps his detective shield if a suspect tune up becomes manslaughter. The death of the accused kidnapper puts Dawson now on the same conspiracy level that persists with Voight (Bingham) and Olinsky (Browning). Antonio’s drastic turnabout seems odd at this point unless his family issues become an excuse for him to leave the show once again. The whole drug addiction arc for Antonio was just too rushed to be plausible given his backstory with police intelligence.
  9. CarterMatt Newsletter - December 2, 2018 Chicago Fire interview: Derek Haas sets up fall finale, Casey and Naomi CarterMatt – Okay, so let’s just kick things off with this when it comes to the fall finale — how much are people going to be worked up over the ending? Derek Haas – They’re going to be cursing the Haas name, as sometimes they do. I was telling another interviewer that I showed my boys the episode and they were like ‘how can you do this, dad?! They’re going to be so mad at you!’ I get it from inside my house — not just from Twitter. It’s going to be crazy, especially the last ten minutes of the show. CarterMatt - I like how you’ve formed this sort of relationship with the fans on social media where you can be almost at times like a professional wrestler, in between the Gorsch campaign posters and the way that you can egg some fans on. Do you welcome this role? After seven seasons of tweeting, I don’t mind it. I like the bad guys sometimes — if they’re well-written and acted well enough, you get the response you want. I remember Hope at the beginning of last season when everyone was cursing my name over her (laughs), and then we got the Gorsch role. I gotta give props to Neil McCormack, the writer’s assistant on the show. He’s the one who came up with all of those buttons of Gorsch that I kept putting out on Twitter. But yea, I like to toy with the fans. It’s a part of it. You can’t open up Jurassic Park and expect all of your dinosaurs to stay in their paddocks! CarterMatt - Before we get into the finale, let’s touch on a few important things from this season so far. What went into the choice to kill off Benny Severide? We were looking at the first half of the season, and we typically reserve our big swings for the premiere or the finale. I remember last season, we were kind of in the middle and it felt like we weren’t turning big stories in the way that we should. So, when we got in the writers’ room this past summer, we said ‘how can we turn a big card in the first half of the season?’. We had this Gorsch story line going, so we thought about having Benny come back and having Severide go to his dad. The last time we saw them, it was super-heated; so, what if he had to go to him with a little bit of his hat in hand, saying ‘can you do this favor for me?’. Then his dad dies and Severide doesn’t know that he actually did the favor — we wanted to see how that could impact multiple characters and deliver some episodes that are dramatic and heartfelt and all of those things. We were looking for bigger swings earlier in the season. We did it in the third episode where we had Herrmann move to engine — that was a big move that was a long time coming. Then, with Benny dying, it was about delivering a big thing that people wouldn’t see coming. CarterMatt - How is what happened with Benny going to continue to factor into what’s happening with Severide? He’s not in a good place. He’s definitely reacting to his dad dying in a self-destructive way, as Severide has done in the past when faced with tragedy. He has this moment where he reflects with Casey that he’s in a state of mind where he wants to wreck things, so when Tyler, who is Stella’s old friend from high school, shows back up at the firehouse, let’s just say that it does not go well. CarterMatt - It’s out there in the promo for the fall finale that Naomi and Casey share a kiss. We’ve already seen that Casey sees some of the same passion in her that he saw in Dawson, but in introducing that character now, is that meant to send his brain and his mindset in a number of different directions as he’s wrestling through everything with Gabby? Yeah. To me, he’s having a reaction that is human. He’s hurt. She left — it wasn’t him leaving — and even though he kept up a brave face for her and kept his chin up, he’s angry and he’s hurt. When you’re faced with those emotions and you feel in a way rejected and your marriage is crumbling, you want to show yourself and the world that you’re attractive and you still got it. Here comes a woman who is smart, aggressive, and good at her job in the way that Gabby is. They get swept up in the moment of excitement while investigating these pretty bad people who are making these fire-trap trailers. One thing leads to another. I’m not saying that it’s the best decision Casey’s made, but that’s what’s happening. CarterMatt - Beyond the fall finale, is there anything else coming up that you’re excited about? I can tease a few things! In Chicago, they do the Polar Plunge for charity — the Special Olympics. I participated in it and a lot of our actors are as well. It’s where you’re crazy enough at 10:00 in the morning in the winter to run into Lake Michigan. We’re going to do a Polar Plunge episode at the firehouse. We’re going to do an episode the same week as Valentine’s Day and we’re calling it the Galentine’s episode. Our leading ladies are going to go on a road trip to Indiana to see Brett’s hometown. We’re also going to have Gary Cole back as Commissioner Grissom and he’s going to be back in the second half of the season. CarterMatt - Are you hoping for another big crossover? Yes! At least for now, we’re in the early planning stages of doing one with PD, so it will be a two-hour thing with PD. It’ll be centered around a crime happening in a firehouse that is close to ours, and we’re going to get involved. CarterMatt - Are you already starting to think about the future beyond this season? The ratings for this One Chicago lineup have been really impressive. I’m loving the audience response to One Chicago all being on one night. I can’t believe how much they’ve embraced it … but I never count my chickens before they hatch. There have been times when it comes down to May and we’re still waiting. I’m feeling great, but that’s somebody else’s job to worry about.
  10. CarterMatt Newsletter - December 2, 2018 Chicago PD interview: Rick Eid previews big Antonio story, Ruzek & Upton CarterMatt – When did you start figuring out that you wanted to tell a big Antonio story for the fall finale? Rick Eid – I think when we were talking at the beginning of the year about the show and the characters in general, we started talking about what would be an interesting place for Antonio to be mid-point in the season, especially when it came to Ruzek and Voight. During the premiere, Antonio was at odds with Ruzek and at odds with Voight, and trying to take a by-the-book approach [to policework]. We thought it would be interesting to see where this relationship could evolve to. CarterMatt - What was Jon’s reaction to finding out about this? He was excited to explore subject of opioid and pill addiction. I think it was a tough place for him to go, but I think he was excited to do. CarterMatt - The promo for the episode shows Burgess tracking down a possible suspect in a bust before realizing that the person she’s chasing is Antonio. How can we expect the Intelligence group react to what could be happening here? I think ultimately, it’s about the Intelligence unit being people and looking at it as family, and having incredible empathy for someone they care about and are willing to sacrifice their careers for something that matters to them. CarterMatt - Is there anything that you can speak to when it comes to Ruzek or Upton in the fall finale? Their relationship remains strong — there’s a real relationship brewing there. I think Adam is, maybe just maybe, a little more smitten and excited about the future than Upton, but they both like each other a lot and are having fun with it. It’s a meaningful, casual relationship at the moment. How would you describe the ending of the fall finale? Should they brace themselves for a big cliffhanger? Yes they should. It’s shocking and compelling.
  11. My son was stillborn in the late 70's and he was buried in a Catholic cemetery on a hillside in the baby section. The burial was free and each headstone for the stillborn baby required the full date and the time of death. Policies on grave markers are different within each diocese throughout the US, but stillborn babies have a special section in the cemetery.
  12. Agree. Mandy is the intelligence operative for the team and she does not plan the actual logistics for the missions. She provides the demographics on the targets for the most part. Jason's current attitude towards Mandy is overdone including calling her a liar over her motives. IMO. Jason's recent decisions on the ground have put the team at risk including the predictable ambush upcoming in the next episode.
  13. It's the crime boss father who has Will on the hook for the wedding rental hall. He was in the hospital the first time during the hazmat spill, but later readmitted after Will retested him. Jay needs him to incriminate himself over a murder.
  14. Jack Coleman (Ruzek's father) was a popular villain on ABC's 'Castle' as the force behind the murder of Beckett's mother. Given his past bad guy roles, at first I thought he was dirty, but instead the viewers might get a son Ruzek arc. Coleman was also a CIA bad guy on 'Burn Notice'.
  15. Totally Agree. It is a little misguided to think the Feds could force you to work undercover. A voice on a wire is not probable cause for an arrest per se. The writers like to use selective morality to fit a weak story line. Will should just listen to his brother and stay away from the target.
  16. Blackmail? Jarring incident? Will just reminded the tech of the favor he did for him to avoid hospital rules over his own treatment. Will needs to stop the favors for sure because it hurts his credibility as a good, ethical doctor.
  17. He can't be forced to put his life at risk by the Feds by using unlawful prosecutorial powers. The Mueller probes are just ridiculous politics and the first convictions were for face-saving process crimes. Will just needs a good lawyer to defend him against possible entrapment.
  18. Agree that he broke rules except he puts his life at risk for police work that he is being forced to do without cause. He should just take consequences if contract violation. The reception hall tradeoff seems pretty innocent, but unethical. Voight is just blowing smoke to get him to help. Recall that Voight got Will to treat gun shot wounds for the son of a woman CI at her home while at risk from drug cartel during the procedure. Also, there have been other instances during the series in which Will treated people off site.
  19. Severide presents as just too level headed to get jealous over an old Stella friendship. Given what the two went through recently during the lung procedure, why would Stella even want to make him jealous. Makes little sense and a little hurtful to the relationship. However, what seems odd is Stella's somewhat amorous attitude to some dude from her old high school days. Maybe if a college friend, it would make more sense. I would not be surprised if Severide goes to Halstead for help getting a background check on this guy.
  20. Yep when Stella is tied down on a bed at the reunion cabin.
  21. A citizen can be forced to be a law enforcement CI because he appears innocently on surveillance? How long before Will gets in danger and needs his brother cop to bail him out?
  22. Tyler presents as a stalker arc with that initial greeting hug for Stella. High school crush BS! Why would he push back that hard on Severide over a reunion unless it was a ruse to get her away from home to get control later? Severide should have told Stella about that red flag conversation.
  23. Given what has happened in Sesaon 6 so far, the rest of the series will miss Olinsky. Erin got Al involved in the silo murder out of desperation. If Voight had confessed, both Lindsay and Olinsky would have been murder accessories. Voight did everything he could to get Al out of custody. For Voight, it was all about protecting Erin. Hank is no more responsible than Erin for what happened to Al. All three of them were under a dragnet which finally collapsed on them. Al did not have to die over it, but the writers needed a path to get rid of the story.
  24. Voight helped Olinsky bury Browning the suspect who killed his partner. Erin got Olinsky to help move the body of the person who killed Voight's son. Both men walked. There was no evidence that the DNA found against Olinsky was real. He wanted to contest it, but the police command pushed the jailing of Olinsky at the insistence of Woods. Al did not have to die over it.
  25. Agree. Something drastic has to happen between them soon or Ava is on a path to just leave the show. IMO.
