  1. Not in my opinion. Same with c*nt. If I could make those words disappear from the English language I would. I'm sure Ms. Rose is a lovely person, but I don't happen to agree with her on this issue.
  2. Believe me, I'm in agreement, I hated it, but got where Ava was coming from as a school administrator... the woman's child was fine (happy, healthy, good student, etc.) Who is Ava or Barbara to interfere or judge their personal choices if the child wasn't negatively affected?
  3. Raising hand to say Ava schooled me as well 🖐 As a 60 year old woman, I was instinctively appalled by the "Bitch" Tata Tattoo and the Slut sweatshirt, but when Ava pointed out the kid was happy, healthy doing well in school, etc so what was the problem, I actually had to take a moment to think it through. And I realized I was just being judgy and in fact there truly was not a real problem here. The mother agreeing to wear less "statement" clothing was also nice, but it wasn't really that big of a deal once I took a step back from judging by what was appropriate when I was young. So anyway, long post, but important lesson in tolerance and times changing and all that for me.
  4. This. This is why I stopped watching The Goldbergs, every week was the same episode: Bev is crazy and does something completely cringeworthy and humiliates one or more family members, they get mad and tell her off, she pulls the self pity card and cries that they don't appreciate how much she loves them, they feel guilty and realize how lucky they are to have her. Lather, rinse, repeat. Blech. I will be so disappointed if Abbott Elementary doesn't wake up and realize they've already fallen into this type of pattern. This is such a great show concept and talented cast, please find some new direction to go in!
  5. Honestly I think this show would improve a LOT if they switched the focus to Marty, Malcolm and Neicy. I personally find them to be the stronger actors (haha the "mama's thong" scene was epic) and the premise of "sheltered white family moves to black neighborhood" was dropped this season anyway in favor of showing gentrification. And OMG the Grover character is painfully bad, like robotic kids from 50's sitcoms bad. If they need to center stories around that kid I would definitely be out of this series.
  6. With free porn everywhere, showing sex just for its own sake is pointless, you have to be invested in the characters to make it interesting. I tried to find the actress's age, but it seems to be a secret. Definitely not great casting tho. The actress playing Lucy looks a lot like my niece which is one of the reasons I started watching this show when I came across it. But I would never say my niece looks like Shailene. And yet somehow the two actresses look alike, weird.
  7. As much as it pains me to say it, she's too old. Definitely a resemblance though. They did go through the whole pineapple conversation though, so it makes sense that the neighbor assumed they knew why they were coming.
  8. I think he was afraid of the accusation against his son being made public. Once accused of anything to do with child porn, the stigma never really goes away even if you're found not guilty. He didn't want his son to suffer that fate.
  9. Respectfully, if women keep treating men like the second coming of Christ, why would they even suspect their behavior was less than respectful or appropriate?
  10. He is, but in his defense (sorry!) they went out for 10 years and she enabled his infantile, entitled behavior the whole time.
  11. I went back and forth with this. I think casting young, physically fit people allowed for more interesting and exciting challenges. On the other hand, they may not have been as interested in playing the game as getting camera time for social media or acting/modeling gigs.
  12. Awesome to see a religious person not treated as the antichrist because she's happy in her beliefs. Barbara is 100% who she is, I love that and I'm not the least bit religious
  13. I think the problem is they cast only model/actor wannabes, so winning the game was secondary to screen time.
  14. The actress playing Ashley played essentially the same person in Curb Your Enthusiasm and I wasn't crazy about her there either, but at least that show is all about over the top, cringey characters and humor. She seems too unrealistic for this show.
  15. Well, Katy Sagal's son must be a great actor because I hate Stephen with the white hot intensity of 1000 burning suns (or nuns for you former MBTV fans)!
  16. Sadly Janine is quickly becoming my least favorite part of the show. I hope they bring back her sweet naive personality without the constant trying to fix things.
  17. When I was in second grade, I was in a class mixed with third graders for the same reasons the show explained. I honestly don't remember any problems or confusion and we never had an aide. We wouldn't have dared to act up though, Mrs. Hemesath didn't take any crap lol!
  18. Haha, I was just coming here to say the same thing! In a quick Google search I was unable to determine the actress's age though. Weirdly I thought the same thing about Eleanor on Never Have I Ever and the one thing they have on common is bangs, so maybe bangs age a person? Either way it's distracting.
  19. I think they did a cursory lesson on telling time for sake of the few kids who hadn't already learned it at home.
  20. I can't stand Grover. The way he was acting was not like any 12 year old I know, it was more like a toddler. 12 year olds understand the concept of waiting for an inning to end. And I thought it was unfair that Dave didn't get to be the parent with Gemma sitting right there being smug, it seems like anything he might have done to shut down Grover's behavior would have met with disapproval from Gemma. Lol, no I didn't enjoy that part of the episode. Always enjoy Marty and Necie though.
  21. Don't even get started on Dylan McDermott vs. Dermot Mulroney. Confused those 2 for years.
  22. That's what I would expect from this creative team, I was on the edge of my seat.
  23. Has he though? I never looked it up, but is this kid someone's relative? I seriously can't imagine any other way he got cast. He's just painfully bad.
  24. Now that I know that, I can totally see it, especially in the mouth and lips! I don't find him all that attractive honestly, but maybe it's because I hate his character so much.
  25. I fast forward through the sex scenes, makes for a much less annoying and much faster viewing experience.
