  1. I'm disturbed by how quickly I went from crying over Mikey (sorry, Michael) asking Wynn to hold him to laughing at Wynn telling 911 he didn't know where to start in regard to what his emergency was. Fantastic episode.
  2. I loved all of the lines about the past and the future and Raylan's newfound absolute determination to move on. Raises the tension over whether he will ever be able to really leave Harlan behind (or alive!). Planning to use Boyd's 'I might have been born at night, but not last night' in conversation soon.
  3. It was nice of Boyd to pack Ava's (battery operated) hairdryer and curling wand. I'd imagine he keeps a stash of his hairspray under the floor boards at the cabin. I only ever hold babies if I have to. And I have two of my own. Watching the final scene with Ava and Boyd I couldn't decide if either of them trust the other at all and have no idea where this is going tp end up. Awesome.
  4. Does Limehouse know Ava is a CI or does he just think she was running from Boyd? I loved that Art, Rachel and Tim all concluded that it was highly likely that Raylan slept with Ava to get her 'back on track'.
  5. Being called a sidekick was a step up for Tim - last time he was in a scene with Avery nobody acknowledged his presence at all! Why didn't Zachariah just fail to save Boyd? I don't think the other guy would have seen it as suspicious since he didn't when he saw the neatly sawn off boards?
  6. I don't know that Doyle, er, Albert actually recanted either. He didn't seem like he was going to after his meeting with Boyd last season from memory? The Raylan/Ava kiss was completely worth it for what Tara called Timothy Olyphant's sex eyes after - good lord!
  7. I never realised Jacko went international! The best Aussie in a non-Aussie role of recent times has to be Damon Herriman (Dewey Crowe) in 'Justified'.
  8. The employee Katherine is referring to is Boyd. But then it only just dawned on me that Dillahunt's character is working for Elliot's so take my observations with caution! I loved the old guy (RIP) who in response to being told that nothing lasts forever replies "Except this conversation it seems". They breed them dry in Harlan.
  9. Is this what you mean Aunty Sharon? http://m.imgur.com/wG2212X
  10. I think I was thrown by the episode description as the encounter being unexpected. If she goes to the same school Amber and Drew did wouldn't they expect to see an English teacher at the school play? I'm just surprised Ruby hasn't transferred to Snowflake Academy yet.
  11. So Mr Cyr teaches at Ruby's school? Of course he does. Didn't Dylan tell Max to leave her alone - how is there still tension. If Max somehow gets the girl then I'm going to need all of the wine.
  12. I guess Bob, Eugene (no one expects him to survive obviously!) And Carol :(. Like ghoulina, only Rick and Carl dying would really shock me though.
  13. I'm in Australia so we don't view in real time and I can't imagine watching this show with commercials either. So excited about the new season! I made the decision after last season to watch this one without spoilers so have been staying away in case I get too anxious and give in to temptation.
  14. I found it surprising in the books too, especially considering how Tywin treated his father's mistress following his death. I guess being a hypocrite isn't too much of a stretch for someone like Tywin though. Anyone else have a *that's* how you pronounce it moment with Hizdahr zo Loraq? I just skimmed it in my head when reading because I couldn't be bothered saying it. Dude needs a nickname.
  15. As a teacher and a mother, season 4 was brilliant, compelling and very thought provoking. I also loved season 2 Ujio - watching it so much later, I knew a couple of the key players from other shows (Andy Bellefleur! Pornstache!) but completely forgot that and became engrossed in their world. Season 5 wasn't as much of a problem for me as it was for others, perhaps because I wasn't aware that it wasn't received that well at the time. So for me 4, 2, 3, 5, 1. But seriously, I loved them all. I regret taking so long to watch but doubt I would have appreciated it as much back in the day.
  16. I'm an even later-latecomer - finished last night! I found McNulty compelling for similar reasons, Rinaldo. He could have been a caricature (good cop/bad man, uninvolved cop/good man) but the writing and West's portrayal made him impossible to love but equally impossible to hate. As a viewer, I often agreed with McNulty and wanted things to work out professionally and personally for him, but couldn't support the way he went about it.
  17. I'm LCanterbury and despite my TV addiction, managed to avoid The Wire until about a month. Now I'm closing my eyes, resisting temptation and planning to return to this section when I finish season 5 (I'm on episode 5, so almost there). Thankful I'll have somewhere to talk when I'm done - it's been quite a ride!
  18. I'm sure I read somewhere Reedus was keeping his hair long for a film role he's doing now so maybe next season the oppressive heat in the train car will compel Daryl to get rid of the mop. I find Daryl a fascinating character because his life has been changed in a different way by the ZA compared to most others. His story isn't so much of loss (apart from Merle) but of discovery and growth. And bad haircuts, shipping wars and gross habits like peeing in corners and licking his fingers.
  19. I'm curious what everyone's motivations were originally for watching TWD - one thing I've noticed looking around the Interwebs is that the show seems to have a very diverse audience. I wasn't aware of the source material but was watching 'Wuthering Heights' with Andrew Lincoln and was interested in what else he'd been up to. I never thought I'd watch a 'zombie show' but have become alarmingly immune to the gore.
  20. I watched for the first time ever this episode, purely because Andrew Lincoln was on (my thoughts about him are far from pure though) and I enjoyed it. I liked hearing the behind the scenes tidbits and insights. Scott Gimple, despite presenting as the most boring man alive, was pretty interesting and had a great dry sense of humour that complemented AL's well. Does Chris Hardwick always talk so quickly? He could be a Gilmore at that pace.
  21. We binge watched 'The Sopranos' in the days before we knew how to skip the theme and by season 4 I was ready to 'get myself a gun'. Just so the thread doesn't get too high brow, I don't think anyone has mentioned 'Perfect Strangers', 'Charles in Charge' or 'Growing Pains'? Love a good singalong theme.
  22. I'm an unashamed Rick-fan. My love for Andrew Lincoln is the only reason squeamish me considered watching a show about zombies in the first place. I like that he has tried and failed in a lot of his approaches; makes him interesting. Despite this, I have liked the minimal screen time he has had of late - his constant manpain was a bit much for a while there.
