  1. I thought not hiring user experience designers was pretty spot on for Richard's cluelessness/arrogance and the rushed way the product was released. I live with an engineer who complains about UX people not getting it, so in my mind, a conflict still exists. It seems a vastly unpopular opinion to state that I like Gilfoyle more than Dinesh! Then again, it seems vastly unpopular here to suggest I even enjoy the show!
  2. My husband's reaction: " What are those animals on the slee...oh!" I think I'm nonplussed about it because Gilfoyle is self-aware enough to know he is an arsehole whereas Dinesh seems utterly unable to realise that his attitude may sometimes be the cause of his woes.
  3. I thought that was pretty typical Laurie; she makes what she knows to be a good decision and isn't capable of nuancing it in consideration of other people's opinions or feelings. I have been enjoying this season a lot more than last year, which seemed to tread water in terms of plot development. I mentioned it last week I think, but Dinesh totally brings it all on himself so I have no qualms about laughing at him. He always thinks he's the 'good guy' but is usually being condescending about others. The pedestal he puts himself on makes him such an easy target for Gilfoyle.
  4. There was a throwaway line this week that Gilfoyle has a girlfriend so I guess it's still Tara from season 1.
  5. It's good to have an episode that wasn't 100% Pied Piper and its woes (and occasional triumphs) from time to time. I enjoyed seeing again how Richard's pedantic nature and awkwardness impacts his personal as well as professional life. (Made extra amusing by my husband quietly admitting to being a spacer). I also loved Gilfoyle's "Maybe you're the dog face?" to Dinesh, who nails that whole 'I'm a great guy' thing whilst actually being kind of a dick. I didn't mind the blogger not realise her reporter's privilege - she admitted she wasn't a journalist and when Erlich bought the blog she was probably happy it's now his problem, since he caused it in the first place.
  6. In Season 3 when Dan was Selina's campaign manager he basically presided over a series of fuck ups culminating in his hospitalisation when they were in London. I think employing Ray (Chris Meloni's character) and his behaviour was the catalyst.
  7. I thought they hand waived the Kev still being married thing by saying he never filed the divorce papers? The farcical elements of the show are mostly the reason I watch it - I don't think it's ever been completely realistic or intended to be. Like in what universe would a cop undertake a high speed pursuit with a minor civilian with them? It was funny and moved the plot along though (Carl looking at a Policing career) so it's fine by me. My husband is sick of me saying it during every episode, but the actor who plays Carl is amazing.
  8. Is Hannah even a trained teacher though?
  9. I didn't get my bond back once because we left dust on a windowsill so the wall building is wtf to me. Different country so different rules perhaps! What on earth was Fran teaching when Hannah barged in? He was saying something about the Queen and Prince Phillip not sleeping in the same bed/room?
  10. Tara is out on a two week run though right? She won't even know until she returns to Alexandria that something has happened to Denise. Not a great look though but as Pete Martell says, TPTB were in a corner with Alana Masterson probably unable to film the last bunch of episodes. I think Merritt Weaver has been criminally underused if she dies next episode :(.
  11. I can't understand the majority of what Norman Reedus says so Daryl has never been a favourite of mine. That said, I can't see him dying. I like the idea of Abraham (see ya!) sacrificing himself for Maggie/Glenn but think it will probably be Glenn to meet Lucille. He's had lots of emotional dialogue this season and I think Steven Yuen might be looking at expanding his career somewhat. I was also wondering if they'll leave the fate of Tara and Dr Dre unresolved owing to Alanna's pregnancy and Corey Hawkins's role on the 24 thing.
  12. I was so proud that I recognised Lucas and my husband didn't (we both have a lot of trouble remembering what happened in the previous season when we binge watch) but then I read the recap and it says it was Tom Yates in prison. It is Lucas right? I'd hate to have to recall my bragging!
  13. This may have come up in an episode thread but I just realised I know Tom Payne (Jesus) from 'Wuthering Heights' where he played Andrew Lincoln's nephew/son-in-law.
  14. I was half sure JimmySteve was going to pop up with a last minute bid at the auction! This show does like to make Fiona's love life messed up. Of course Sean killed a guy! What a catch he is. I'm also glad that I wasn't the only one to lol at Kevin trying to blow out the Yannis fire. It was all down to the way Steve Howey played it I think. Michael McMillian is becoming a bit of a 'Hey, it's that guy!'. Could be some questionable moments for him as an actor depending how well Frank's scheme works out.
  15. He also turned on music, but yeah, seems sloppy. I was trying to fill my husband in on what happened after our episode cut out early and the current plotlines seem even more convoluted and implausible out loud!
  16. I found this episode really slow and boring. My recording also cut out after Quinn was hit too so I'm relieved to read Carrie is on to Allison because...worst spy ever. She's so jumpy and nervy; I really can't buy she has sucked in Saul and Dar. I'm surprised the Russians have stuck with her for so long - I assume they'll whack her once they realise Carrie's figured out her duplicity.
  17. I liked how they referred to their fathers' pasts as their "back stories". The flashbacks, whilst obviously depressing on their own, were hilarious when juxtaposed with Dev and Brian's whinging.
  18. Got to love Fargo for provoking me to casually remark that I'd much rather be shot than smothered by asphalt. The characters are all so intriguing this season. Simone is great and I'm guessing Bear (FX loves an Aussie actor for a villian) or his son are going to become more involved at some point - they seem a lot more ahead of the game than Dodd.
  19. Finally caught up. I'd be happy to come to Hawaii and help with the pronunciation of character/actor names. Unfortunately, I also struggle but as a point of difference, my errors will be said in a broad Australian accent.
  20. I had no idea what Daryl was doing because I have always struggled to understand a word he says. I thought he'd just decided to lone wolf it and my husband and I were like "Bye Greaseball". There was so much gore in the episode I thought I'd have nightmares and I did - that Steven Yuen would be reduced to being a ghost Maggie sees as she rubs her swollen belly. Please no. I also think Heath has potential - it was slightly "hey! symbolism!" but I liked the bit that Omar screencapped in his recap where Heath sees his reflection and doesn't know whose blood is all over him.
  21. I shouldn't listen to this whilst attempting to exercise. Imagine having to explain why I was laughing so hard I fell off a treadmill. Oh, Lane :(.
  22. I think if they were only trying to cover up Danny's death then leaving the body there was an option but they were also trying to cover up their previous cover up of the drugs at the inn. I guess the second season will continue to show that the lies are just going to keep adding up until it all falls apart. Marco must know something is up between his scene with Meg and the weird 'interrogation' of John. Maybe he'll join forces with the retired detective to try to unravel the actions of the Rayburns.
  23. Adding belatedly to the love for this episode and the series overall. I binged the first 5 seasons, so it has been great to watch the final series in 'real time' (or as close as I could get living in the southern hemisphere). My husband, who has a pretty terrible record of predicting TV show plots, guessed that Ava was pregnant. He thought it was more than the fear of going away that was driving her and he was right for once! I cried like a baby at "We dug coal together".
  24. I think this had been building for Boyd for a while. He has been creating this outlaw identity for himself (following on from previous identities like sovereign citizen tax evader, white supremacist and born again evangelist) - and part of it is his escalating violence in order to prove himself as beyond the law. I don't think there will be a Ava/Vasquez alliance reveal - Vasquez is just a small, angry man who can't think beyond his immediate goal. Bring on next week!
