If anyone ever doubts how contrary Whoopi is as someone who just can't agree with anyone else, look no further than the Palin/Evangelical conversation....including a poll on camera!
-
I enjoyed today's show. I like all the full time panelists they have (yes even CCB, Sarah and Sunni) because they all add something different. I'd take any machination of this current panel than the Rosie P, Jenny or late Sherri eras.
-
Today's show was full of tension...especially between Whoopi and Joy. Whoopi seems annoyed whenever she says something and Joy spoke a lot today. I like Sarah...but yikes having her over permanent Michelle has got to sting for Michelle. With Joy there though Michelle is just not needed, especially with her constant jokes.
-
I like Sunni...but why is Sherri tweeting what is most likely secret information between ABC and Sunni? Also, Whoopi not talking about the Oscars was weird. She is paid to give her opinion and views. And Michelle just can't read a room. Why must she make jokes at every turn? Especially ones that are just not View audience appropriate. She's most likely out, especially with Queeen Whoopis speech. CCB and Paula at this point are quiet but I enjoy them.

was Whoopi saying she has been crabby for the last 10 months a dig at the show and production or what?
-
I love when they are actually engaged in a Hot Topic. It makes such a difference. And Michelle seems to have been the panelist that has been marginalized. Plus then"rotating cohosts" but no complaint there.

You know it still bugs me that the writers had Valerie go after Ray. It was the beginning of Val's (long and slow) downward spiral that really made her irredeemable to root for most of the time, which is such a wasted opportunity for the show. Did she just like the power of getting someone else's man (again)? Was it his sweet tunes? His tattoos? His mom? Did she want to buy him that extra T? The residual effects of going "schizo" living with Jim & Cindy? Just because she could?

Great Christmas show considering it was taped..,.it was joyful, festive, fun and they gave away good stuff (really showcasing the hosts personalities). Couldn't they have invited Michelle though? Or waited for her to tape it?

So in the "Hate is a Four Letter Word" VSE near the end when Rolland Turner the controversial figure is speaking at CU, Brandon tells Janice next time they should get someone like Bill Cosby to be the speaker. Oops!

Still trying to process Wednesday's show...things were tense from the jump. When Michelle (who looks different--Broadway stage makeup?) asked Paula specifically a political question, Paula and he others jumped all over it, odd. And so Paula is a Trump supporter right? Cause whoopi kept bringing up how she CAN NOT believe anyone would support him! And then th did that awkward clap test as they were going to break...and finally Paula semi outed herself as a supporter. That's the beef between the two maybe? Almost as odd as the recent Paula/Raven friendship.... And yeah whoopi did not like joy complimenting Paula's teleprompter reading skills!

Wendy basically calling out Whoopi as a host who hates her job was masterfully low key shade. They even had a quick close up of her reaction once Joy tried to awkwardly interject about how it's like having a sick dog.
-
Honestly whoopi asking Paula where her sense of humour was was just as off putting. Loved how quiet it got when whoopi was going off on Paula because I saw it as everyone thinking "here she goes again."

Raven has brought up money, taxes and her parents making comments about said money countless times so far. It seems it's mostly about the coins for them/her. Young Whoopi indeed.
-
All in all this has been a solid week of shows. Personally I prefer when Michelle & Raven aren't on the show together. They sort of feed off each other in this odd, frentic way that has a habit of derailing an already short discussion on things. Separately they bring in a nice perspective. As for CCB I don't think she's as easily grouped into the Elisabeth "role" as it may seem. She truly seems to speak from the heart while Elisabeth seemed a bit more calculated.
-
I like when the co-hosts disagree. Just wish CCB had more to back up her views. Very Elisabeth-esque indeed.
-
Can they not do things like "Date, Marry, Disappear?" The View needs to stay in its lane more than ever and that means stop trying to be young and hip like The Talk, cover celebrity nonsense like Wendy Williams, or be respectful like the Talk because that's never been what this show is about. Talk about the topics that are timely and relevant with a political twinge to them.
-
While I still find this season better than the last two or three, it still has a ways to go. CCB really is one-note and that is so disheartening. It would be so interesting to have someone to present a valid opposing view to her Highness Whoopi or even Joy. But there isn't. Unpopular opinoin time but I prefer Paula to Nicolle and initially was upset at Nicolle's firing and Paula's hiring. But Paula is able to be objective about things while still making her opinion known but isn't so aggressive about it that Nicolle sometimes was. She also doesn't kiss booty or talk about the same things (I"m so out of touch!) as Nicolle often did. And it was a relief not to have Michelle jump in with derailing jokes, as awful as that sounds. And Raven really is a product of the industry isn't she? Thought she had potential she (like Michelle) are squandering it.

I wonder if Whoopi was having ROSIE flashbacks when Raven was talking about racism.
-
That Whoopi/Paula debate about Billy Joel was so entertaining, especially when it ended with that super awkward "everyone is entitled to their opinion" and Whoopi's smile. Also Whoopi & Raven keeping Hot Topics timely and relevant with their "Streetcar Named Desire" and "Cosby Show" references.
-
Not only did Whoopi mangle CCBs name on Monday but she intro'd her very (even for her) awkwardly and basically started out calling her a guest co-host! I think the Paula/CCB and Michelle/Raven cliques are very interesting to watch. Both sides look to their "partner" after making a point or while the other group is finished talking as if to say 'back me up!' or 'what in the world are they talking about.'
-
CCB & Paula did bring up good points about now the "Cool Pope" is going to be seen as divisive now, but Whoopi and Michelle and Raven kept bringing up the nuns? When was that ever a factor in the outrage? And Raven really is impressed with her jokes and how youthful energy and all that but I can feel the audience cringing whenever she brings some stuff up. Like that whole bit about Kanye's cabinet? No, Raven, no.
-
Thank you! Wonder if she's being punished for the advertisers pulling out? Or if this was always the plan. Or she really has "something to do."
-
Looking forward to CCB next week on the panel--should be interesting to see all of them (?) together (again) and some ~sparks~ in NotTopics. although Joy did make a throwaway comment to the Politician today (who I believe was a former fill-pin panelists in Joys' old days, Amy Holmes) that she would only be on Friday. Or did I mishear what Joy said?
-
at least on Fridays we won't get Whoopi's "Welcome to the View y'all! Welcome to the View!" *Points to backside of the audience*

Poor Whoopi was upset Joy/Raven were telling her she needs to wrap up. She was going to wrap up "nicely" or however she said it...yeah right. She's always awkward and abrupt about everything on this show, especially the segues. Today was a cluster---everything from the Trump interview to the movie star interview that included Michelle wanting to be making faces at and Raven-speak. Oh and Whoopi with her feet over the chairs. No exposition about the movie--I guess they figured we all had advanced copies too? I do appreciate Paula trying to bring up tid bits they can discuss but no ones biting. Whoopi keeps saying the election is a roller coater so why bother. Why bother? Cause its your job! Love Joy this go-around so far. You can tell she's not here for mindless mess, it's all over her face.
