Darcey and Stacey Live Chat Season Two
JeanJean replied to Frozendiva's topic in 90 Day Fiancé: Other Spinoffs & Specials
The only thing the twins having their own series has done for me is this: I used to sympathize with Darcy. I thought Jesse was a dick. I thought yes, she sabotaged things somewhat with Tom, but that was because she was broken and vulnerable. When Stacy would show up, I thought she was fine. But NOW, after 2 years (and of course, why am I watching?) I find them really irritating and I'm constantly saying, "Grow up!" to the TV screen. -
Darcey and Stacey Live Chat Season Two

I've started to talk like them! Someone pointed it out to me. I need to retrain myself. Or stop watching the show. -
I Love A Mama’s Boy - General Discussion
JeanJean replied to greekmom's topic in I Love A Mama’s Boy
I thought she said assistant teacher but assistant principal makes more sense. Vice Principals are always scary - even more so than principals. And she's got that scary-ass thing down pat!!! -
Remember she and one of the sisters did the same thing to him when they made him eat a worm that was live? They're so mean. Corey's a douche for taking it. I'm not a fan of cheating, but maybe Jenny was nice to him and it was a nice change.
-
Am I wrong to wish Corey had thrown the penis soup in the sister's face? It's so nasty to trick someone into eating something you know is going to gross them out. Evelin has a very sadistic streak, it seems to me.

I noticed that Whitney does the same thing with her parents that she did with her "French tutor." She completely blew off what they were saying and just steamrolled ahead with her own agenda. Maybe it's progress if she's starting to realize the FT just isn't that into her? Or it's face-saving to drop it first. Or both.

OMG, these women drive me crazy!!!!!! Florian is being reassuring and that's not good enough for Stacey. She will have the argument she wants, no matter what. If she would listen to the meaning of what he's saying (maybe not as clearly as someone for whom English is a first language) she would get that he is listening -- and trying to comfort her. These twins are never satisfied. Right now, they bug me so much I hope Florian and Georgi leave them in the dust.

I've had it with Angela. While she was yelling nonstop over Usman on Bares All, I thought, does it EVER occur to her that the AUDIENCE might like to hear what the other people besides her have to say? (I guess that's a rhetorical question.)
-
I'm sorry to hear that. (I don't follow them on Insta.) Sounds like they've changed a lot from the early years.
-
Me, too!! I so wish she was having easier later years. She has given the world so much joy.

Years and years and years ago, I remember reading an interview with Linda Ronstadt (whom I love dearly) in which she was asked why she had a roommate/roommates. She was already a superstar. She answered with something like, she liked having others around. I suspect, though, she was way less needy - if at all - than W would be as a roommate.

But old folks (of which I am one) also can be very good at denial - and as my PCP once told me in terms of how people are physically when they get older, "Everybody's different." I think many older people wouldn't stop driving unless they were forced to. It's a terrible loss of independence, but you have to weigh that against posing a road danger. Heck, I still think I'm 27 -- until I look in the mirror.

OH MY GOD, THAT PHONE CALL WAS PAINFUL.

That's part of the "branding." Is it a good or bad thing overall? I don't know. We don't know how down-to-earth their family life is or is not when there are no cameras. Maybe they balance it all out, maybe they don't. Or maybe they all, parents included, got a taste of showbiz and went bonkers!!! 😃
-
I hear you! But since it's TV, is it really that much worse than the family on "Succession"? (Which I don't watch, but I've seen the commercials.) It's basically: This is their family business. Instead of selling canned goods in a grocery story, they sell themselves. I hope Blayke still becomes a veterinarian, though!!
-
I think that would kind of fit the definition of ill will. :) I always hope the universe will go easy on me when I screw up. I just find the show boring now. I liked the early years - which were boring in a comforting, real-life way. The day-to-day of dealing with quint babies was very interesting and sweet. (And I really liked the couple.) Now it's mostly just a big, annoying commercial every episode. Kids don't change later anywhere near as quickly as they do in the first years, so maybe they should just go off the air.

Plus, cysts are just very common, aren't they? I was told decades ago that I had an ovarian cyst, and pretty much never gave it a thought. I think it disappeared on its own over the years. I do understand, though, that D&S's brother died of cancer, so they may just worry that anything is cancer.

I really hope this show is staged because otherwise these two are just histrionic wacky love divas, seemingly without a clue as to appropriate social behavior. Not everyone in the world exists for you to grill relentlessly, ladies. I swear, I'll be looking at the TV one second and Darci's happy, I look away for a second and I turn back and Darci's wailing, "No more painnnnnn!" (And yet I watch it! :) Go figure. I guess because it's like watching a trainwreck. And there really is nothing else on TV these days.) Every season should be called something like "The Mystery of Georgi." (Just sub in new guy's name.) Because it's all about Darci digging relentessly for deep dark secrets she's sure exists. It's like a Nancy Drew mystery if Nancy had hair extensions and abandonment issues. Her first season, I was totally on her side. (Still think Jesse is a douche.) But it's getting really tiring -- and embarrassing.

I think Darcey and Stacey are stuck at the prepubescent/early pubescent stage, which makes sense because (I think) that's when they were bullied. They're kind of trying to live the kind of love songs you listen to (over and over and over) at that age. Even when they wrote that one song that time, it was more like a teeny-bopper song than a grown women song.

And don't forget the ever-present, "I deserve this" when they want something.

Dean gets line of the week on Darcey and Stacey: Pillow Talk: "The steak is on the bias, Darcey. Don't cry!" Is there a Darcey and Stacey thread anywhere? I can't find it. -
S09.E03: Will You Be My Surrogate?
JeanJean replied to PrincessPurrsALot's topic in My Big Fat Fabulous Life
Exactly!! It made an especially big difference on "Outdaughtered." The first years were really just the day-in, day-out of 5 babies: trying to feed them, diapering and toilet training them, trying to get them to sleep. What made it good was it felt like real life. Now it's all EXCITEMENT ALL THE TIME!!! and it's annoying. -
Maybe he was an astrology prodigy? (Say that 10 times fast!) :)
