I see a lot of love for Yvonne Strakhovski on the internet. I assume this is because of her role in Chuck, which I have never watched. I have seen her in Dexter though and I can safely say that she doesn't turn crap into gold either. She was awful in Dexter (couldn't even hide her Australian accent properly) and many fans view her character as the beginning of the end of that series.

Description of episode 4: Characters like Merlyn and Komodo are nothing but fakeouts. It's obvious that Sara was killed by Ra's, IMO.
-
Yeah, I think that's probably it. I don't think there will be any Sara/Laurel flashbacks next week because this is the episode where Colin Donnell returns as Tommy Merlyn in the Hong Kong storyline.
-
Agreed. I don't know where KC's acting talent went because she used to have some, but I picked up on the same damn thing when I watched the rooftop scene. I should have known what was coming right then and there. It was the jacket hand-off all over again. And her "agony" when she cradled Sara's dead body in her arms? Cringeworthy doesn't begin to describe it.
-
^ Me neither. I knew she was going to die but with Ra's Al Ghul coming in as the new big bad, I really really thought we would see an arc where Sara becomes increasingly conflicted as Ra's plans for Starling City become clear to her and that she would eventually try to overthrow him - but fail. In the meantime, they could have explored some of Sara's LOA backstory through flashbacks. What a waste of storytelling potential...

I think he can just as well stop watching now. If Laurel doesn't suit up as the Canary by the end of the season, I'll be shocked.
-
Agreed. As much as I enjoyed Sara, I don't think her death will have any big repercussions on the ratings. Sure, there may be some people who will stop watching after this episode, but I think at least the vast majority of online fans will keep tuning in as long as they are getting Olicity, so the producers were actually pretty smart in killing off Sara's character in a Olicity-heavy episode/season. Now that I think about it, they pulled the same card with the jacket hand-off in the season 2 finale...
-
I think Sara was probably killed by Ra's Al Ghul. If true, I could see this leading to a storyline where Nyssa overthrows her own father to become the new leader of the League of Assassins.
-
Oh my god. I expected Sara to die this season, but not like this. I thought she would at least get an arc before she gets killed off. Why did they even bother to bring her back this season? If they had killed her off in the season 2 finale, she would have died a hero's death at least.

The Starling City Times: News and Media about Arrow

I figured I would post a little update on the chart performance of Arrow's season 2 DVD/Blu-Ray box set: Arrow: The Complete Second Season reached number 10 on Nielsen VideoScan’s Weekly Overall Disc Sales Chart, number 7 on UK's Top 40 DVD Sales Chart and number 4 on UK's Top 40 Blu-Ray Sales Chart. -

I think the reaction to Moira's death scene comes down to what kind of viewer you are. If you are part of the spoiler-reading online fandom, you probably weren't shocked because her death was spoiled in detail months in advance. However, if you were to ask the casual viewer, who doesn't read spoilers, what the most shocking moments of Arrow's second season were, they would probably mention Moira's death or Merlyn's return.

Thanks for the link to the results. None of them were particularly surprising, but I don't agree with all of them. For me, Susanna Thompson was by far the best actress on the show and I'll miss her presence greatly. And I don't think BOP was the worst episode of the season. I thought Time of Death and Blast Radius were worse.
-
I don't find the Felicity/Laurel news surprising. Even if they didn't get along in the beginning, we weren't going to see the struggles because of the 5-month time jump.
-
The way Stephen Amell expressed himself was unlucky to say the least, but I am glad that he (finally) stood up for KC. The cyberbullying against Katie Cassidy has been excessive and it sadly reached a new all-time high because of a stupid poster. I think some people seriously have way too much time on their hands...
-
I just found this article about the most and least liked fall TV actresses. I was a bit surprised to read that Katie Cassidy was tied with Amy Poehler and Patricia Heaton in 26th place, ahead of actresses like Mindy Kalling, Allison Janney, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Connie Britton, Julianna Marguiles and Rachel Bilson. Nina Dobrev polled slightly better in 21st place with a Q score of 19.
-
Oh, that's interesting. If we really get to see the Atom in action on the show, I would assume that he will probably join in on the big battle between Team Arrow and Ra's Al Ghul/LOA at the end of the season.
-
Honestly, the over the top reaction to Laurel's positioning on the poster is one of the reasons why I can't see her going anywhere. Like her or not, she gets people talking. Characters like Thea, Roy and Lance (even Diggle to a certain extent) only seem to create apathy among the online fandom, but as soon as a Laurel-related spoiler hits the airwaves, comment sections are set on fire and fans take to social media to voice their opinions. And this is exactly what the CW loves. They love when people talk about their shows and Laurel is probably the most talked about aspect of Arrow right behind Olicity/Felicity/Team Arrow.

I'm taking my reply to the Laurel thread. -
If people are curious to find out why Katie Cassidy's appearance has changed so dramatically, they can read a fairly sound explanation for it here.

Wow, Bex Taylor-Klaus just took to Tumblr to call out the hate-mongering among shippers: I don’t know if this is true or not but I will be checking it out to be sure. I’m also taking this opportunity for a soapbox. TO ALL SHIPPERS WHO SPREAD HATE FOR CHARACTERS WHO THREATEN YOUR SHIPS: shut the fuck up. Stop it. Now. The entire point of a shipping is LOVE, so stop with the HATE! Some of you will get your ships. Some won’t. Regardless, it’s just horrible to be so horrible to actors and characters others may root for. You get pissed when people hate on your ship characters! Don’t you think others feel the same? Whether you think they’re wrong or not, being hateful is a horrible way to be. So please. Stop it now. Source I doubt this is going to change anything in the Arrow fandom, but I applaud her for this regardless.
