There was a lot of Lana-hate on the big Smallville boards, but she had her fair share of fans as well. It's just that those fans avoided the big, open forums because they didn't want to deal with the hate all the time, so they congregated to their own boards. If I remember correctly, the Sweets forum had over 50000 members.

I may be the only one, but I am not surprised that CL won't be back as a series regular. I think my guess that she may be featured in a Summer Glau-like capacity (8-10 episodes) next season might come true. Sadly, this tells me that Sara Lance is basically just a BC placeholder until the writers deem Laurel ready to become Black Canary. A Sara Lance death towards the end of season 3 seems like a very realistic possibility to me under these circumstances. :(

Please excuse my ignorance, but what other commitments are you talking about? I just checked CL's IMDB and there are no new projects listed as in-development for her and the movie she was filming wrapped weeks ago. I hope this doesn't come off the wrong way because I would be thrilled for CL if she's going places outside of Arrow, but this isn't the first time I have seen posters mentioning how busy she is and it makes me wonder if there are some (casting) news that I missed...

Katie Cassidy will also be at Dragoncon Atlanta (August 29 - September 1) I don't know about anybody else, but I would love to be present for a joined KC/CL panel. I would imagine the atmosphere could get a little bit awkward if certain questions pop up (e.g. the BC question or if someone asks them what they think of the Laurel/Oliver/Sara stuff).

If we are possibly (not definitely) going to see Laurel receive some training over the course of the season, why is KC already looking so bulked up? By the time her on-screen training starts up, she will look like she has been doing power workouts for months already.
-
Does this possibly confirm that Laurel will be the new DA? I guess if the writers ever want to set Laurel on the vigilante path, they could write some story where a clearly guilty criminal is let off by the corrupt justice system and Laurel decides to take matters into her own hands... ...(btw, does this scream 'Manhunter' to anyone else?)

There will be a special panel with John Barrowman on Saturday:
-
I don't know from where he has his info, but one of the Vancouver paps (Ken aka pursuit23) seems to be sure that it's CL's stunt double (Atlin Mitchell) in the Canary picture:
-
That might be Atlin Mitchell, but either way, it better be Sara's Canary. If it's Laurel and they have her running around in the Canary costume after 1 episode, I'm seriously going to puke.

I noticed these tweets by Kirk Landon Staley. He is a journalist and seems to know Katrina Law. According to his tweets, she will be at SDCC. I just checked her IMDB profile to see if she has any projects coming up that will be featured at Comic-Con besides Arrow and there was nothing that stood out. I don't know if she will be at the Arrow panel, but at the very least, I would expect her to be present for DC's big Saturday Night event.

They've been doing some on-location shooting today: And Stephen posted this picture from the set:
-
Yeah, if Laurel does become BC they can always release a second BC action figure - this time with fishnets...
-
Unfortunately, you wrote your reply before I could edit my post, but that's what I wanted to add as well. The Canary appeared (as played by a stunt double) in the season 2 premiere and the producers were intending to announce the introduction of this character at SDCC to surprise the fans, but the info was leaked a day early to negative reactions. Maybe they are intending to do the same thing (announce the casting at SDCC) with Ted Grant/Wildcat?
-
Yeah, that's true about the casting. Unless, Ted Grant is officially introduced in episode 2 or 3 and any appearance in the premiere happens as background noise in the form of a stunt double? Sort of what happened with Sara/BC last season (BC was played by Atlin Mitchell in the premiere. CL officially came on board in episode 3)?
-
I had the exact same thoughts when I saw those pictures. Not that I want it, but I am curious who they would cast in the role if they do bring him in. If this is really going to be Ted Grant's introduction, he might still be an active boxer, which could mean love interest potential. If I remember correctly, there was an interview with CH during the European Press Tour where he said that every character would get a new love interest for next season... Yes, that's exactly how I expect it to go down, too.

The Starling City Times: News and Media about Arrow
strikera0 replied to Grammaeryn's topic in Arrow
Probably because The Flash is a more known comic book entity than Green Arrow. Also, shows generally tend to have higher ratings in their first year of existence. -
Maybe I will turn out to be wrong, but I suspect CL may be signed to a similar contract like Summer Glau was last year: A recurring contract over 8-10 episodes.
-
I just saw this comment by Tommy Europe (I think he's been training KC since she has returned from her promo tour) under one of KC's gym photos: Now if only Laurel's hero's journey wasn't such an epic failure...

I'm not really surprised by the result, either. Laurel may not be particularly well liked, but KC still has over 200.000 followers on Twitter. If only a fraction of those people vote repeatedly, it should be enough to get a decent placing. And as much as I like Sara, there's no denying that her popularity took a big hit during the second half of the season. -
Caity Lotz at Dragoncon Atlanta (August 29 - September 1)
-
If R'as Al Ghul has already been cast, I would assume that they will probably announce the casting at San Diego Comic-Con. That would be the ideal place to do it.
-
If I remember correctly, KC had some blonde highlights in her hair during the latter half of season 2, but she wasn't fully blonde like she is now.
-
The Golden Age version of Huntress was called Paula Brooks, but she was a supervillain and a member of the second Injustice Society of America. They later changed her name to the Tigress.
-
A 'new' Count Vertigo? Geez. The first Huntress should probably be the real deal, but as far as I know, there were 3 different incarnations (the first one was a villain, though) in the comic books. That should give the writers some wiggle room if they ever conclude that they have written themselves into a corner with the Helena Bertinelli version and would like to have a do-over...
-
I think KC will be keeping the blonde hair, too because Black Canary in the comics was blonde, as well. The change in hair color will probably be part of Laurel's upcoming transformation.
