Both Katina and O seem to agree that this marriage is about her living up to his standards and meeting his needs. I truly don't understand why she hasn't just told him to sod off. Steve and Noi have options they don't seem to have considered. He could pursue some consulting gigs to demonstrate that he can, in fact, pick up that kind of work and be well compensated for it. That might set her mind at ease a bit. Or he could pick up a steady job for a couple years until they're ready for kids, making sure in either scenario to sock away plenty of money to help support them if he wants to become a SAHM dad later on. I don't think him being a full time homemaker NOW makes much sense and would make me nervous too. (I would feel the same way if the genders were reversed.) Of course, if the issue is that Noi is as certain that a husband should be a breadwinner as O is that a wife must clean and cook, that's not going to be surmountable. Despite their obvious problems, Mark and Lindsay appear to laugh and have fun together more than any of the other couples. They might just work out?

I agree that Michael is a human sleeping pill, but I didn't see him as "ordering" J to journal. What he said was, it makes sense for them to write things down so they can both get their thoughts out fully without anyone getting (or feeling) interrupted, since that seems to be a huge issue for J especially. Her reaction seemed snotty to me.

Poor Chris. Everyone keeps telling him he is EXACTLY WHAT ALYSSA NEEDS. Not only is this grossly false--what Alyssa needs apparently is a personality transplant--but it's so unfair to Chris to put that burden on him even if she were a tad more cooperative. A spouse's job is not to babysit their mate or "bring out the best" in them or fight through their unpleasant neuroses. What about HIS needs?

I think our clever sleuths have determined there is no "Decision Day" footage of them glimpsed during the season previews, so I'm pretty sure they don't stick around to the end. I sure hope it's sooner rather than later that they go, this stuff is painful to watch. How does Alyssa figure she can ignore the marriage part of the show and just hang out with the rest of the cast? Isn't she aware that doing stuff together with her spouse--the dreaded "intimacy activities", etc.--is part of the cohabitation period? Gah, she makes me insane.

It is a rather delicious irony that Alyssa, who has shown more concern about her portrayal than any previous participant, is now one of the most despised cast members ever.

Who would have guessed that Mark the Shark was so high on the emotional intelligence scale? Not I, certainly. Lindsay actually appears to have gotten herself a catch. Too bad she's gonna blow it. Chris is absolutely right, Alyssa is attempting to gaslight him. She wants out but she doesn't want to look like the bad guy. so she's trying to make him out to be--"how dare you call me a liar?" She is the WORST. O is making a lot of promises he can't possibly keep to Katina. I wish they hadn't decided to make drama amongst the couples a feature of the show. I don't think that's what most of us tune in for.

Chris has really gotten screwed. His friends did him dirty and his assigned mate is a stuck-up B. I just watched last weeks aftershow and he seems like a perfectly nice guy who had a very good attitude going in. And he's not *hideous*, just average-looking. Her treatment of him is uncalled for.

Good for him and I agree, but given the glass-breaking at the end of the ceremony, I assumed Chris or Alyssa or both are Jewish, so it seems unlikely they were married by a pastor?

Oh dear. Chris seems like a decent guy. I hope this isn't going to be as disastrous as the previews have suggested.
