  1. My favorite line of the night (I believe it was from Kelsey and Joey, during the lion walk): She: What do they eat? He: Walkers
  2. Kim Rollins:SVU :: Nicole Wallace:Criminal Intent
  3. Either six or nine months. Gee -- if they just moved over to "Sleepy Hollow," they could become Special Agents In Charge. Apparently they let new recruits go into management that quickly over there. Seriously -- the real FBI must be longing for the days when Efrem Zimbalist worked there.
  4. I think it was in Stockholm. So the world's on the verge of WWIII, but in next week's preview EVERY scene was about Steven and the Wayward First Son? What -- is this show "Scandal" now?
  5. I'm assuming that the Texans were required to hand over their Express Pass to another team (via Phil) when checking in because the race designers assumed that, having used the Express Pass, they'd be coming in first on that leg. Because -- what if they'd come in LAST? How could Phil hand it to another team as they checked in when they would've all been gone by then? But of course the idiot Texans found a way NOT to come in first; fortunately for the race designers, the only team ahead of them is one to which they'd never dream of giving the Express, so I guess it's not an issue this time.
  6. OK, so Cornelius Smith, Jr. (Marcus Walker) was added to the cast of regulars and is in the opening credits this season with the rest of them, but have we seen him yet in any of the first three episodes?
  7. At first I thought he might have been saying "papi" instead of "poppy!"
  8. I know it will never happen, but is it wrong for me to want Nate and Wes to hook up? I never would have thought of it until that last scene.
  9. So I mentioned in last week's episode thread that they hadn't yet shown Phil "live" with the first team to arrive at a task like they did last season. But I guess they haven't completely abandoned the idea, as there he was doing it this week. Now we've had two consecutive episode titles with "dog" in them (and the first one had "beef"-- well beefCAKE anyway.) I don't know if that's going to be a recurring theme. The reporters sort of define "quiet competence." I'm assuming they're not getting too much screen time because there just isn't a lot of drama or controversy to show.
  10. So, two episodes in and we haven't seen Phil doing a 'live" presentation while at one of the tasks while the first team is arriving like we did last season. Have they abandoned this idea? I would imagine it adds an extra layer of complexity in scheduling and transportation, so maybe they decided it just wasn't worth the trouble.
  11. It seemed like the anchorpersons did the statue task reasonably quickly and efficiently and that they should've made it to the Detour in a higher position. Maybe the park where they had to place the statue was farther away from the Detour than the place where the cardboard was weighed. Also, it seemed like there was a gap between when the first batch of teams were practicing/finishing the tango and the second group started. Was there a limit on how many teams could work at the same time or was there really that much difference in the times the teams arrived there? Sometimes it's so hard to tell with the editing. The track star who commented about the need for ab strength to hold oneself up sideways made an interesting point-- something I wouldn't have thought about. My favorite part was when the little guy cousin jumped into the recyclable bin and his partner shut the door on him.
  12. It's been spelled "Catalast" in the closed-captioning all season, so I guess it was intentional. So does anyone know where that train station where the Ray-Holloway-Leonard-Burriss scene took place is located? It certainly wasn't Union Staion in LA-- it looked more like an airport. And what was Ray's reference to Anaheim all about? I noticed veteran actor Ronny Cox's name in the credits but I don't recall ever seeing him -- does anyone know which role he played?
  13. I was a little surprised at Jay's choice of desserts-- chocolate and coconut don't scream "summer" to me. But I guess he redeemed himself with the cocktail.
  14. I assume Paul was being either facetious or sarcastic when he told his mom and fiancée to stick to room service. They'd be lucky if that motel had daily maid service. Of course I guess he could be referring to food delivery from restaurants, but no one calls that "room service."
  15. I'd love to see someone spring that on Kermit and Medusa as their POV in Week One. Who is her father? I know she used to be married to Billy Joel, but I've never heard anything about her having a famous father. I thought the Joel connection was her only claim to fame.
  16. I don't know if it's relevant to the title or not, but Blake's last name is "Churchman" (per IMDB.) Josh Clark, who played the retired cop (the one who investigated the theft of the blue diamonds during the LA riots) is also playing Hildy and Junior's father (also a retired cop) on "Murder in the First"
  17. I think Eddie's problem with Halloween is that he was dead-set on doing an entree (as were all of the others, except Arnold.) Had he thought outside the box a bit, he could've easily come up with some ideas that would have better fit the theme--as many of you above have already done. I think he was talking about making appetizers-- maybe he meant you could make 20 appetizers out of one chicken breast?
  18. The town is named LADNER, not Lardner.
  19. I've enjoyed most of both episodes, but Adam Goldberg is one of those actors who always gives me the creeps no matter what kind of role he's playing. He just seems smarmy, and I hate the tattoos.
  20. I thought Alden said they were Lutherans, not Episcopalians.
  21. They should've called this episode "Downtown Abbies." Anyway, since we have no idea what happened to Pam, Kate and Theresa, I guess it makes it easy to create a second season, since only one of the regulars (Ben) seems to have survived. So they could basically cast an entirely new set of people (after all, there are apparently a large number of Human-sicles still in storage.)
  22. I could see how they might think that's a possibility since there are so many other shows filmed in the hosts' homes: Ina, Paula, Giada, Melissa, Nancy, Trisha, Sandra, et. al. I'll bet the Spice Islands people are going to ask for a refund -- their commercial featured Michelle talking about how important herbs and spices are to her cooking just seconds after her tomato soup was universally dissed as being excessively bland. Has anyone run across a restaurant that serves ramen-bun burgers (or really ANY kind of sandwich with ramen buns?) I want to try that more than anything else I've seen on the show this season.
  23. Dom kept referring to his pizza as "Dominooch" during the prep and I was concerned that he was going to mention it during his presentation. I don't think evoking a competitive pizza restaurant's name would have gone over too well with Mr. Cici's.
  24. Emilia was probably thinking "Go big or go home." Instead it turned out to be "Go big AND go home." At least it seemed like everyone's food in the improv challenge was pretty good. For the CiCi's challenge-- I wonder if they had any expensive or exotic ingredients available to them. Because you know that there's no way they'd ever have something like Truffle and Caviar pizza at a low-end buffet place like CiCi's.
  25. I'm thinking Eddie, Suzy and Dom in a remake of "To Wong Foo,Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar."
