  1. The comedienne going in on obese people before Whitney came in to argue with her was totally staged. You could see the DJs' faces change, like, "Oh, crap, Whitney is here and she's going to get pissed! Let's bring her in!" It was scripted through and through to try and give Whitney a way to stand up for her ~agenda~. Unfortunately for her, she didn't really have any good arguments and mainly stammered and stuttered her way through the conversation. I also thought it was so ironic when Whitney called out Kerryn for "body shaming" before derisively calling her skinny. I think she said it several times, like it was automatically a negative attribute. I wonder how she would have reacted if Kerryn were heavier. She didn't look too pleased when her own co-worker (I think his name is Roy) admitted he didn't like being fat. It's like she can't fathom somebody having a different opinion from her. She goes on the defense immediately because she knows she's in the wrong.
  2. Great Kazu, I totally agree about Tyler talking over everybody else. It's like he loves the sound of his own voice above all else. Nobody has anything more important to say than Tyler. He also tends to look annoyed whenever people aren't talking to him or are asking somebody else questions. You're right on that he probably spends most of his time plotting what to say next in any given conversation. That's why he never hears anybody else---he's too busy running transcripts in his head. I remember when he was running his mouth during that meeting with Brandon and Teresa while Catelynn just sat there, silent and terrified. She never once tried to speak up even though she was facing the very real possibility of getting the adoption closed because of Tyler's big mouth and bigger attitude problem. Cate is very, very lucky that she had such a close relationship with Teresa. She needs to learn how to speak up and stand up for herself. Every time she tries, Tyler always shuts her down or she backs down of her own accord. She needs to stop doing that and get a reality check.
  3. I think he realized it was a mistake when Whitney sent him that photo of the salmon, then admitted she barely ate it and had no intentions of eating it, and did that stupid guffaw like it's the funniest thing ever. Then, when she was at the birthday party, she straight-up admitted she wasn't going to send a photo of her dinner to Will because she knew he wouldn't like that she was eating such an unhealthy meal. It's really easy to cheat when you only have to send three photos of your meals; it obviously gives Whit an advantage because she doesn't have to admit she's choosing to eat so badly. Unfortunately, it looks like it's going to catch up to her, since next week it looks like Will is going to cut her loose as a client.
  4. It's like the chicken and the egg conundrum. Is Whitney a terrible person because her parents always gave her what she wanted, or was she already a terrible person and her parents enabling her made her even worse? I think it's pretty rare for a three-year-old to be such an awful monster that her own mother and father give in to her out of fear of what she's going to do or how she's going to react. She's the baby of the family, so maybe that explains why Babs and Glenn always gave in. Whatever the reason, it's clearly done Whit no good over the years if this is how she presents herself at 32-years-old. She's only seven or eight years older than me and I'm appalled at how immature she acts. This kind of behavior would be unacceptable at ten or eleven. It's certainly long overdue for somebody in her early thirties.
  5. First of all, I'd like to say good job for breaking the cycle regarding the abuse you suffered. It takes a lot of guts not to follow such a particular path. Second of all, I always roll my eyes whenever Tyler brings up Carly's adoption because he always changes his story regarding why he wanted to place her. First it was because of the crappy, abusive, dysfunctional environment Catelynn was living in at the time. Kim's house was a much better choice, but she made it clear Carly wasn't to live with her. Then Tyler said he gave Carly up so he and Cate could be normal teenagers without having to worry about raising a baby. Now he gave her up because he didn't know how to be a dad. Give me a break. Tyler gave Carly up for one very simple reason; he wasn't willing or ready to be a father at sixteen. And that's totally okay. Most teenagers do not want to raise children when they could be responsibility-free. But Tyler tries to make it out like it was this huge sacrifice on his part and like he would've kept Carly in a heartbeat if the situation was different. Please. He outright said he would've picked different adoptive parents for her if he knew about Brandon and Teresa's policy against posting her pictures on the net. Unlike Catelynn, I don't think Tyler ever entertained the notion of raising Carly. It was always either adoption or he was out. I'm not surprised he only brought up Carly, though. What's his excuse for not taking care of Nova? Oh, that's right. Nova's not Carly nor is she a decent replacement so Tyler doesn't care. What an asshat.
  6. Agreed about the 100 pounds she kept bragging about losing. It's really a moot point when she's roughly twenty pounds shy of 400...and looks heavier than that.
  7. The cake part really was ridic. So she claims she doesn't like cake, but practically inhales all the samples, and then wants to clean her palette for round two. But it's better that she's happy instead of being healthy, right, Hunter? What're the chances that her friends and family know that it's a lost cause for Whit to lose weight and have just resigned themselves to loving her until she eats herself into an early grave? I wouldn't be surprised if they gave up trying to get her to lose weight. It looks like Will is going to cut her loose next week; maybe the others will follow suit after realizing that getting Whitney to open her eyes, stop being so stubborn, and lose weight is virtually hopeless.
  8. This is only my third or fourth time watching the show, but am I the only one annoyed by how hard and loud Whitney laughs? And she does it over the most trite, unfunny stuff. Like when Buddy agreed to go to Karen's show and said, "I just wish it was for somebody worth a shit". Instead of snickering or smirking, Whitney does this gut-busting guffaw like she's ready to literally die laughing. I dunno. It's just a quirk that bugs me. And, yes, the comedian definitely had Whit's number. She binge eats and she's surrounded by enablers. She also seemed to have better comebacks when she was home than she did during her argument at the radio station. She tried to come into that battle guns a blazing, but wasn't all that prepared. I also liked how she derisively described Karen as "skinny" like that's automatically a negative attribute. Girl, please.
  9. And yet Tyler is the one with all the relationship advice. I know that this is supposed to about "Being Butch", but Tyler did me no favors last night. There was one scene in the car when Butch was trying to explain something and Tyler just kept talking over him and almost fighting with him on who got to speak first. He really does love the sound of his own voice. I can't wait to see what he does when Nova starts talking.
  10. Word to the "Tyler looked unhealthy" posts. He is not aging well, and it shows in his face. He's a heavy smoker, consumes copious amounts of salt, doesn't get any exercise, and probably drinks too much as well. He also admitted to being a pot smoker, which probably means he eats a lot of snacks, which doesn't bode well for his weight or health. I think his hairstyle looked weird on him, too. It looked too puffy and...big? It's hard to describe, but he has a small head, and his hairstyle wasn't helping his case, in my opinion. It just draws attention to how small his head is. I liked how Tyler said, straight-up, that sex is the most important part of any relationship and Catelynn claimed she was going to teach Nova not to think that "putting out" was the only way to keep a guy around. Cate is practically the Queen of Low Self-Esteem. She can barely breathe or get dressed without Tyler to tell her what to do. How can she expect to teach her daughter about positive relationships when her own marriage is so toxic and unhealthy? Catelynn wasn't looking that well, either. She looked tired and worn-down, and I don't think it was just because she wasn't wearing makeup. I guess she's stuck caring for Nova all by herself again. So much for therapy.
  11. Totally agree. I can see Leah hurling some serious accusations at Matt---God forbid---and Amber immediately going on her usual defense. "Matt would never do such a thing. He's completely changed. Everybody is always trying to bring us down. Gary must be putting thoughts into Leah's head. He's telling her to say all this!" I mean, it's not like Leah is a very intelligent and articulate grade-school child (not a toddler anymore, though Ambie may still view her as one) who already has her mother's number. Amber never once put Leah first for anything. She's always chosen men and drugs over her daughter. And even after getting out and getting a fresh start in life, she still fell into the same old traps. She can take all the parenting classes in the world, but I think Amber's just one of those people who never should've become a parent. When she first got pregnant with Leah, she just seemed resigned to the fact that she was having a kid. Like, I think she kept Leah not because she really wanted her but because it was expected of her. I can see her thought process as, "Well, I'm pregnant, so i may has well have this baby and marry Gary like I was going to do anyway." She just lacks the insight, the maturity, the selflessness that you need to be a good mom. I think she can handle being a weekend parent, but anything more than that is too much to expect.
  12. I have only seen this show a couple times, and have perused this forum for the snark, but i had to comment because I watch "My 600-lb Life" all the time and that photo of Dr. Now with that bold text next to it---all ominous and foreboding---cracked me up. Well done.
  13. I think that's the worst thing about all this: Leah is involved through no fault of her own. It's one thing if Amber, a grown woman, wants to screw up her life. It's her right, and she's the one making this decision to mess things up for herself because she doesn't want to face the embarrassment that she's been wrong about this guy the entire time. But to drag her innocent daughter through this shitstorm is unforgivable. Unlike her "mother', Leah did not make the choice to let Matt into her life and mess things up. That's all on Amber. I'm not surprised she's prioritizing Matt over spending time with Leah. Her comment about how Matt's oldest kids are in their twenties, so it's okay that he's not in their lives, is very telling. Amber spent over a year in jail and then thought she could just waltz back into Leah's life and reclaim custody like no problem. She gave birth to that child, so she should have her whenever she wants regardless of the crap she's pulled in the past. It's that sense of self-entitlement and self-absorption that's blinding her.
  14. Holy hell. I can believe it. I've heard and read so many things about this place, none of them any good. The only reason Dawn still puts up with C&T is because they give the agency all sorts of publicity. If "Teen Mom" hadn't come along, Dawn would have slammed the door in their faces the first time they came to her post-adoption. The question I have is what did the adoptive parents think? Did they go along with it, lying right along with BCS until the adoption was finalized? Were they lied to as well and led to believe that this young woman changed her mind about wanting a relationship with them? I think Brandon and Teresa really give a lot to Catelynn and Tyler, but I guess there are people out there who don't have any scruples and are willing to deceive and manipulate these birth parents until they get exactly what they want. Also, I'm not sure if B&T will cut off ties if "OG" ever ends. They didn't cut off contact the first time the show was canceled. I think they genuinely want Carly to have some sort of a relationship with C&T; the only reason I can see them ending things if is C&T (well, Tyler, actually) really push their boundaries and get too creepy or possessive.
  15. Catelynn and Tyler will never admit that Bethany lied to them. Ever. It's probably too painful, for one thing, and acting as "spokespeople" for Bethany is their bread and butter. They themselves get paid to go on the extreme pro-life circuit and tell pregnant, scared, vulnerable women about how giving up their babies is the best thing they can do. Then they go on TV and bitch about their own adoption plan and how "unfair" Brandon and Teresa are for not letting them share Carly's photos with their crazy fans or for not wanting to bring Carly onto a reunion show. They either don't understand or flat-out ignore that there's a disconnect between "Adopting through BCS is GREAT" and "How come we can't see Carly more?" I always wondered if Dawn maybe lied to or misled Brandon and Teresa as well. They were initially looking for a closed adoption, then wanted a semi-open when Catelynn and Tyler expressed interest in them. Maybe Dawn told them that C&T were totally down for a semi-open adoption even though they clearly wanted a 100% open plan. Then again, Dawn should never have had those two couples meet in the first place. When one couple wants no contact whatsoever and the other couple wants contact all the time, there's going to be problems. I think B&T have been great so far in regards to letting C&T have contact with Carly. They get photos and updates, and they get to visit her. She even came to their freaking wedding, which is going way above and beyond the call of duty. If B&T were only keeping up a relationship with C&T for fear of bad publicity, then they would have cut things off completely when the show got canceled the first time. I think BCS tells them to play nice because it gives the agency good PR. Remember when Catelynn told Dawn she didn't know what B&T expected from their adoption arrangement? Red flag right there. How could C&T not know what B&T wanted after six years? If that isn't a sign that Dawn completely bungled this entire thing, then I don't know what is.
  16. I totally forgot that Kail got married (again...) in curtains. They really match her giant freaking skull tattoo and those sharks in the background.
  17. To be fair, Maci popped out two kids in, like, eighteen months. If Chelsea gets pregnant again a couple months after delivering this one, I'm sure people will be giving her the side eye. I think it's just a different situation given that Chelsea is better with her money, her relationship seems more serious and stable, Cole doesn't look like he's sucking off the fame teat like Taylor is, and Chels actually parents her child instead of lounging around the couch and chugging Bud Lite like it's getting discontinued. I also don't think that Chelsea "hasn't changed" just because she's having another baby now. She's having her second child six or seven years after her first and in a much more steady environment with a much more involved partner. I'm sure she'll be fine.
  18. Aww, is it weird that I'm happy for them? They seem like the most stable, normal couple of the entire franchise aside from Corey and Miranda. Now Aubree's going to have two younger siblings. Considering how good she is with Paislee, I hope that she's just as good to her new brother or sister. I rewatched Chelsea's "16 and Pregnant" episode yesterday, and I think she was one of the only girls who really appreciated motherhood and never treated Aubree as an annoyance or novelty. She was genuinely grateful for her daughter. Unfortunately, she had said daughter with a douchelord and didn't take Adam up on his offer to sign away his parental rights. Seeing the way he treated Chelsea when Aubree was a newborn just makes me sad for that kid. She loves her dad and thinks the world of him even though i think she's at the age where she's starting to realize he's not perfect. On "16&P", he made a comment about how he didn't have to bond with baby!Aubs because he would have her entire life to bond with her. She may cut him off sooner than he realizes once she truly understands how horrible and selfish he really is. He never once wanted her or even cherished her, and made it clear with those disgusting text messages. Some day, if he even lives long enough and doesn't get himself killed in some car crash, Adam's going to be an old man who'll have to depend on his daughters to help him out. And Aubree and Paislee may refuse based on how he treated them and their mothers. All of it was filmed so they can see first hand how vile he was and still is. He said he has Aubree's entire life to bond with her? That window may get slammed in his face the first moment he asks her for help.
  19. I was browsing through the "Teen Mom" subreddit and somebody posted that Catelynn and Tyler are in Hawaii again and didn't bring Nova. A producer was with them, so chances are they're being filmed for the show (I know it returns this August). Weren't these two just in Hawaii a little over a year ago? They didn't bring Nova then, either, but at least they were on a honeymoon that time. I also understand parents needing time away from their kids every so often, but C&T take it to ridiculous extremes. They don't work, don't go to school, and pawn their kid off every chance they get. They complain about all they've missed with Carly, but ignore the daughter they actually did keep and did get to raise. Before they know it, Nova will be independent (well, as independent as she can get being raised by these two), and they'll sit and wonder how it happened. They're missing out on so much with her and they don't get it. They'd rather talk about the kid they didn't keep than focus on the one they did. It's messed up.
  20. This show is a disaster in the making. Considering how Cate jumped from therapy to doing another TV series, I can't help but wonder how long it'll take before she hits the slippery slope again. Somebody on Reddit posted a photo of Cate taken when "Teen Mom" went on hiatus a few years ago. She honestly looked great, and healthy to boot. Now she's miserable and sickly; she looks worse than ever. I wonder how much of it is PPD, how much is adoption anxiety, and how much of it stems from the fact that Cate is sick of being on TV. I also wonder how much Tyler twisted her arm when MTV told them they were bringing back "Teen Mom". Something tells me he was more willing to be back on TV than she was. Edited to Add: I don't know if I'd be able to watch a Butch-centric show. He's such a horrible person and I was cringing when he went up to Carly during the wedding and then more or less said he had a right to since he's biologically related to her. I can barely handle Tyler's self-entitlement as it stands. I also wonder how long it'll take before Tyler complains about the adoption again since he never seems happy unless he's dragging Brandon and Teresa through the mud for some petty reason?
  21. Maci will complain about how Ryan is a deadbeat dad while she and Taylor continue to ignore the TWO babies they have together.
  22. If that's true, then that could be a good or bad thing. It's good since the twins have both parents in the same school district; bad since Leah no longer has an excuse if she drops them off late or they're tardy one too many times.
  23. The fact that Leah is moving again just shows that she throws her money away. She has well-documented financial issues---her credit cards got declined, she spent thousands on the Mary Kay pyramid scheme, she had to ask Jeremy to put money in their joint account because it got overdrawn somehow---and that's just the stuff I remember off the top of my head. She's constantly drownding in money issues...until the season ends and the cast get paid. Then she's riding high on Cloud 9 with new cars, houses, a goddamn therapy horse. She has no idea how to manage her money. I think all of the women except Chelsea play fast and loose with their paychecks, but Leah really has no idea what she's doing. She's going to crash and burn the moment this show ends and she doesn't get that chunk of change she's so used to.
  24. That child is utterly doomed. It doesn't matter if Ali seems fine---if a specialist who spent years in med school and training says she needs her wheelchair, then her parents need to make damn sure she's in her wheelchair! Corey is guilty of it, too. I don't have kids, so I can't even begin to imagine how heartbreaking Ali's diagnosis has been for Leah and Corey. But come on now. Enough is enough. Denial isn't just a river in Egypt. It's going to do some serious damage to Ali in the long run if her mom and dad continue to ignore the doctor's orders. Leah moving into a house that doesn't have ramps or is wheelchair accessible shows just how ignorant she still is over the subject. And here I thought she showed her idiocy when she let her other kids use the first wheelchair as a toy and they eventually broke it. This girl is always surprising me. Kudos, Miss Messer. Kudos.
