As a many time reader of the books I'd love to see the Manderly's show up on the show, but by this time I doubt it. I was looking for their sigil on either side but didn't catch it. Nice job with Lyanna Mormont though!

That's exactly what I was thinking. Is TV Sansa the equivalent of General Patton? If planned it was a brilliant military strategy. Except of course sacrificing the entire front lines. Maybe that puts her more in line with Tzarist Russia. I'm not even annoyed anymore her storyline is totally different than in the books so far. On the other hand, I love what they've done with Davos on the show. I assumed he'd pop up again in the books besides going off on the Manderly wild goose chase to Skagos in search of Rickon.

Trials and Tribulations of Juicy and Tre...
Jennifersdc replied to Stinger97's topic in The Real Housewives Of New Jersey
Yes - the Guidice's are technically on the hook for the $13M cause the BK petiton was voluntarily dismissed (see fraud and following indictment and conviction). The thing is that they seemingly have no intention to even try to pay back any of the creditors (see none paid according to the BK attorney appointed to represent them). IMO Teresa thinks spending a year in prison negates her responsibility for their debts. The marble/onyx Monstrosity was liened to the tune of a couple million (I assume still), but they were able to pay the outstanding mortgage payments and penalties to get current. Liens really don't matter unless you sell or refinance (need clean title). But you ask an excellent question - which is why her lawyer is saying the malpractice occurred after they filed the original BK. Any monetary award then goes directly to the Giudice's (see new Prada bags) and the many creditors would have to then spend possibly needless money to pursue them in court. That's why the BK creditor's attorney filed a motion to claim any monetary awards should first go to the outstanding creditors and the BK court should decide if the malpractice case is worth pursuing. -

So it looks like Teresa can move ahead with her nonsense lawsuit against her BK attorney. I assume his insurance company will likely settle out of court for an amount less than what it would cost to defend the lawsuit in court. Unfortunately that's pretty common. Maybe she shouldn't be counting those chickens quite yet though. The attorney the BK court had appointed to represent her creditors filed a motion to re-open the BK to claim any amounts she's awarded to go toward paying back her creditors. Ouch... -

That's why I think it's funny. It's so absurd (i.e. - if any of us pulled a Sharon Stone on our boss we'd rightfully be unemployed). Though the shot of Jessa's Brazilian wax job I found far more disturbing... -

I'm going with ending up Tally went to Hannah's apartment eventually after smoking the fatty. Adam and Jessa were there cause they were at Laird's (?) watching Sample. Hannah and Tally laughing hysterically on the stairs when they ran into Jessa and Adam was pretty funny. I once had a similar situation (years ago) and me and my friend laughing our asses off is a great memory. I wish I thought of a fruit basket. -

I generally only post here on a couple of idiotic reality shows, but wanted to chime in on how much really I liked this season. Always watched cause I think Lena Dunham is a pretty funny anti-hipster (although I also think she probably is the ultimate one) and obviously very gifted. My husband always gave her props for her willingness to get totally naked with her very anti-Hollywood body. IMO this was the best season yet. I thought Shosh and the Japan thing was hysterical (along with the Hello Kitty regalia and Colin Quinn). The reunion of Marnie and Charlie was pretty great too. I still think the best scene ever was from Season 1 with Hannah and Elijah at the bar when he told her he was gay and she was too blind to figure it out before (best parting line - your Dad's gay too). At times previously, I cringed through the annoyingness and unlikeabilty of the characters as unwatchable. Now I'm disappointed next season will be the last. -
Ha! Yes! I have a good friend like that too. He's a college history professor and loves to talk about science/biology (not my thing). He once treated me (not really - but he's really funny) to a 45+ minute dissertation on the wonders of mitochondria and how Scientific American is the greatest magazine ever published (he was also stoned at the time). In total agreement however Tom Sandoval is not that person and we don't watch VPR for intellectual stimulation so him and Ms. Puss should either get over it or get off the show. My aforementioned friend wrote a chapter for The Cambridge History of South Africa. I shouldn't be too harsh - I'm sure Tom can write an excellent instructional booklet on the use of flat irons. I think I'll now refer to Mr. and Ms. Puss in future posts as Mr. and Ms. Smug Pretentious Dummies. Thanks!

There's an awesome interview with FI on Jezebel. He'd apparently like to sit around and talk about science and theoretical physics. No he really said that. Interviewer was like you study that in school? Obviously not - he just thinks it's really cool. So how does one dabble in theoretical physics? Buy a textbook? Crash lectures? What an idiot.
-
Whatever happened to this show? It used to be a good time. Oh that's right - we now have the perpetual sour puss otherwise known as Ms. Serious Sketch Comedy and FI now takes himself seriously. Too bad. Oh for the days of the gold lame short shorts.

Lala looks just dreadful.

Thank you Baby Jesus! Is this finally over? It ended being a chore to watch. Probably only stuck with it cause of my husband (he'll deny it -but did also admittedly say it was a chore - like laundry). IMO - my question is whoever told Ashley and Sam (mostly Ashley) were ten's (or even 8's - but not saying I am)? That was basically my first impression - they were expecting Brad Pitt to walk through that door. Then they moaned about being married to a stranger...what show did you think you signed up for bitch (excuse language)?

It actually appears to be number 13 for non-fiction hardcover ending Feb 20th now. I'm willing to bet it falls off the list next week. It's now #450+ on Amazon. Any takers? -

This is actually it's first week on the non-fiction list. Reflects sales a few weeks or so behind - the Feb 28th list reflects sales for the week ending Feb 13th. It wasn't on the list released Feb 21st (sales week ending Feb 6th). When was this opus actually released? Small victories are that most of the books on the list have been out for awhile now (I have two). I'm curious as to exactly how many books and Kindle have been sold. Anybody know where to find that info? -

Ha! So true. I feel no need to see her living in a cardboard box, but readily admit to some ill will over here. It's not just her - I just really don't like con-artists. She's actually not anywhere near the worst offenders on my list - but she just compounds her mistake by the continual denials, self-promotion (though can't really fault her for that given she does need money) and seeming need for material things. Her bitching about not being able to save for her kid's college fund always makes me giggle. I do find her husband and Milania entertaining - her not so much though. -

I think it's doing OK. Read enough summaries that's it not worth buying. Still same old same old bullshit re just signing docs for loans (nothing about her obvious complicity in BK fraud) and re-hash of what's already been done in Orange Is The New Black. IMO her fans and others curious bought enough to get her to NYT the first week. It's now about #300 on Amazon so I'm intrigued to see what it does next week. -

TattleTeeny's right about the John Wayne Gacy thing. He didn't cull his many victims from being a clown at children's parties (I believe they were mostly from his construction business? and those he believed nobody would spend much time looking for). And yes - Hitler liked dogs. Killed Blondie his favorite Alsatian and her puppies before he killed himself (feel bad for the dogs - USA could have probably found them good anonymous homes). The world would be a much better place (see millions dead) if only he was a better painter. Confused as how this comes up in a conversation about the Giudice's though. But we all seem to agree on the WTF are they thinking. -

The book review was pretty funny. Especially since I'm pretty positive Teresa has no clue what Watergate is/means (see Lauren Manzo asking her to spell Napalm or define it). If anybody's interested the physical Watergate is a fairly crappy office building (despite recent "renovations") located in a fairly isolated part of Downtown DC (surrounded by Kennedy Center and State Department owned buildings) with questionable architecture (I'm one of the few in my business that actually finds it interesting). Supposedly it has very good views of the Potomac River in some sections, but I think most of those are in the co-op (still somewhat prestigious given the old-school DC roster who never sold) and the hotel which is about to re-open after being closed for years and years. I digress - but the office building is now for sale if anybody has about $85M (cheap for DC but what I priced it at and still probably a bad buy). I'm going to tour it for "shits and giggles" and curiousioty about the reno next week. But I'm still betting that Teresa doesn't know it refers to an office building or what the actual crime was. She apparently still doesn't even know what her own crime was. -

TattleTeeny - I totally agree! Baffling is pretty much the perfect word that sums it up to me. Both how and why. I fully admit to being pretty much financially irresponsible though my early 20's. I figured it out though pretty quick when I realized even if I wanted credit it would be incredibly expensive and worked diligently from then on to solve the problem. I also pretty much fell into (I often think unfortunately) a financial profession. That's why I always tend to giggle at them and their excuses. My unfortunate financial expertise is commercial real estate and my unfortunate best friend is Excel and a RE program called Argus (I'll be nice and call them "frenemies"). That's the baffling point - besides all the previous bad decisions they're in their 40's (as I am now unfortunately too - but almost perfect credit score!) and RHNJ and memoirs ain't lasting forever. I understand wanting to keep the monstrosity while they can (see limited other options given credit and liens that really don't matter until you sell except for IRS/NJ income taxes), but I still don't get the Lexus (and likely other ridiculousness yet to come). I'd diligently be saving every penny I could. See baffling. But you're right - it's their choice. Godspeed Giudice's! -

I thought that too. But it wasn't mentioned in the plea agreement (I did just re-read to make sure) maybe sentencing? Funny thing is definitely mentioned in plea agreement was if they were found to hide their assets in the final asset statement DOJ had the right to withdraw the plea agreement. G's did (once again) but DOJ didn't pursue it. I'm guessing they were done with the whole thing at that point and felt vindicated enough that she got some prison time? My question is - don't you need credit to lease a car? I actually really don't know - always paid cash for slightly used cars (IMO best way to go). I can only imagine what the Giudice's credit score looks like. -

Was that the "environmental" spill? Awesome (except for the tenants). I thought it was maybe Juicy being an idiot and paying cash he didn't bother (or knew better) to check the state database for existing ones. If there was a lender they would have and wouldn't provide a mortgage until resolved. But a title company wouldn't provide clean title. They all list "exceptions" that you have to accept and see aforementioned idiot I thought he might have gone "fugettaboutit". I'm really dying to know what the insane lien on the monstrosity to the commercial laundry company was. -

Am I the only one who doesn't think this show isn't as great fun as it used to be? I'm so disappointed (though still watch eventually on DVR). IMO the high point was before Season 3(?) with Sheana and her gold shorts that Daisy Duke would be ashamed of and reunion with the busboy (now known as DJ Muppet Baby - as awesome nickname as FI Tom). I also want to know whoever told Ariana and FI Tom they were so smart? I don't get that from watching (see FI Tom and pitching his St. Louis connections for LVP Sangria - now that was funny). -

Sorry you don't post anymore. It's always nice to see a non-crazy person there (includes a good bit of the non-Teresa fans too). But get what you're saying about over saturation. I'm glad it's not because you were repeatedly called a trailer-trash welfare cheat right before sentencing (see crazy from above). Thanks again for taking one for the team! Good times! There wasn't a mortgage on the pizzeria cause he paid cash. Costar doesn't pro-actively track these small properties, just what comes up in the public records and then they make calls to seller/buyer to see if they will tell them anything (I don't - but work in the size they do actively track and they're very good at running down the street gossip - brokers are like high school girls despite confidentiality agreements). I'll recheck in a couple of months to see if there is an ownership transfer. Since he owns it in his name and not an LLC creditors can lien it to death (Costar wouldn't bother with liens on a property this size). BTW - his father isn't listed anywhere - so Liar Liar Pants on Fire. But thanks to you - I cross-checked the monstrosity foreclosure doc and discovered that one of the liens was to State of NJ for about $60K(?) for an environmental spill on the property. -

I actually think she looks pretty good. More natural (like that'll last) and apparently took advantage of the prison gym. But I'm now officially a loser (for checking). Not sure why I didn't realize before I have access to a very extensive national commercial RE database (Costar). I dug up the last BK amendment (thanks Famewhorgas!) and cross-checked. Includes after Joe G realized that the BK court can find your assets even in a LLC (still never declared Teresa's RHNJ related). Basically, their "wealth" (no clue about house flipping - but that dried up way before the BK) was mostly derived from three pretty crappy apartment buildings totaling less than 100-units in East Orange (Mastropole partnership BK claim - no longer own). Which is what I always thought BS about Teresa blaming the BK on tenants not paying rent. They're pretty much Section 8 apartments (gov't generally pays most of the rent - see BS). If anybody's interested I can get more specific about each and ownership transfers (boring - except for a few notes that were likely sourced from Juicy or Mr. M). Costar has exterior and surprisingly some interior pictures. It does appear that at least some of the units were renovated (cheaply - but it's Section 8). Juicy does still own two (very small) commercial properties. The pizzeria/laundromat with 4 apartments directly above (the one they were so stupid to not declare but film at) and where G&G Stucco was (is?). The pizzeria is in a fairly ghetto location. He paid $575K cash for an interior shell (likely with the some of the $ owed to Mr. M) and received (or planned) gov't Urban Enterprise Zone funds/loans for the renovation. See loser as I then looked up Yelp reviews for the pizzeria. I then looked up Gorga and Giudice in the Northern NJ market by owner (need a better hobby). Not the Feds - so no clue about any LLC's. Joey Gorga owns an 80K sf three-story warehouse that he bought vacant. Says 100% leased at $3/psf - nice return on what he paid, but this might be his condo conversion? He also bought 0.13-acre (seems small) vacant lot (used as surface parking) in Paterson for $850K. Maybe next to the small office buildings he says he owns? Costar is very good - but has limited interest in obscure RE. Speaking of which, Frank (God bless his soul) and Filomena Giudice own a pretty sad 3K sf commercial building somewhere in NJ I can't remember.
