But I could be wrong :/ Olicity did get a Coca-Cola can last year, so that was pretty cool. I have no desire to participate again in the MTV tumblr. TPTB clearly took the Olicity win as encouragement to f* it all up. I will not be lured into it by hope of something great only to get a few second clip of pathetic gratitude months overdue that we had to ask for. Fool me once shame on you, Fool me twice shame on me. I did it because it was a chance to promote Arrow and Olicity. Also, I'm competitive and if there's a contest with my ship in it, I vote. Same reason I'm voting for the EW Cover Battle. I may snipe at Stephen for not supporting it but at the end of the day, it's not about him. It's a chance to get my favorite show on the cover of a mainstream magazine. And I really don't see any connection between MTV win with the show breaking up/screwing up Olicity. Breaking them up is the showrunners' sad adherence to TV romance "rules." kismet July 12, 2016 Share July 12, 2016 (edited) I voted last summer for the pure joy of voting the couple because I thought they deserved it. The ship was amazing. I however, got bitter with how it was so easily dismissed by the show & the actors. I don't expect much, but a thank you message or video in a timely fashion is not too much to ask. My personal theory is that Olicity has become bigger than the show wanted and too soon for their timeline, so the more attention it gets the more likely the writers or TPTB will try to put it back in its box - which is bad news for me as a viewer. I'm also wicked competitive, but I feel like the show has betrayed a lot of the trust I put in it. S3 was bad, but I don't feel like they intentionally tried used the fanbase. S4 really let me down, so I've reached the point where I will not be giving them any free publicity. I have very little power to influence their decisions, so I will wield whatever minimal power I have and if that means radio silence on polls then it is all I have. Plus if I was rewarding awards and covers on merit, I don't think Arrow has earned any for s4 or whatever they have revealed for s5. And I believe the awards should be given on some level of merit, not just personal preference. But that is just me, I want to win against the best of the best. And Olicity & Arrow are just not in that category this summer. They don't get a pass just because they've been there before or I like them (no sympathy votes from me). I can be blindly loyal to some things, but I do have some weird idiosyncrasies of integrity when it comes to some of these polls. But the fandom can vote on, I support them - I just have to decline this summer. I'm a conscientious objector this time around. Edited July 12, 2016 by kismet Link to comment

That and competition is why I'm putting in some votes for the MTV award. I have been much less inclined to vote for show centered awards outside of some for EBR. Arrow typically has a sloppy middle, but it is normally redeemed by its finale. S4 was not redeemed in my eyes. 5 Link to comment

If that was the case, they wouldn't have deserved it after s3 tbh. This is more about the fans and showing that there is still an interest in Olicity. Plus I'm seeing the Olicity fandom come together for a common goal for the first time in a long time. It's probably what this hiatus needed really, instead of negativity and arguments all the time.
