I enjoyed Desna and Roller arguing throughout their escape. I liked how he told Desna the hard truth that she is sucks as a criminal. Roller has lost a toe, but he is lucky to be alive. I like Desna's red jumpsuit.

I am not sure how I feel about Roller reconciling with UncleDaddy. I don't want him sucked back into that DixieMafia bullshit when he seems to be straightening himself out.

Melba is so freaking crazy. Wanting Desna to dance with her and calling her "Rubenesque."

I don't understand what Mac wants from Dean. Dean doesn't have any money so what is Mac up to? Especially now that Desna has given up her share of the casino. He must be using Dean for something.

I don't blame Victoria acting on her growing attraction to Eric/EJ given that Dean is ignoring her and is becoming a gambling addict.

I am not thrilled with Polly involved with a murderer. That won't end well. I do feel sorry for heartbroken Ken.

I don't know where they are going with Jenn's mother back in her life.

EJ can really sing.  I hope he and Virginia make it (although they probably won't).  I think Dean is too much for her to deal with.

I think Desna looks awful with all that makeup and some of those getups she wears.  Sure, she's "sexy" if you like that type, but it's too much, over the top.

I agree. I think everything is so tight she always seems to have issues breathing.  Why must everything be so tight... sheesh.

I have a feeling when it comes out that Uncle Daddy has been covering for Toby shooting Virginia when he meant to kill Desna, it will squash that reconciliation.

Heh, it wasn't Roller's first time at the crazy bitch rodeo.

People still wear Coogi sweaters? I thought those went out in the 80s.

If anyone's taking a vote, I think Desna looks fabulous. Now if she was an office worker who lived in the suburbs her outfits and makeup might be a bit much. But for the world she's living and working in, it's on point. Niecy Nash is killing it, AFAIC.

Desna's hair, makeup, nails and "outfits" look appropriate for Swamp Dick, FL but outside of that area, she'd be laughed at.  Sure, some guys might want to hump her, but they wouldn't take her out on a date looking like that.

I loved when Roller just told Desna that she sucks at being a criminal because...well she kinda does. She is certainly smart and resourceful, but she is also way too cocky and is too quick to go up against scary ass people.

Roller might reconcile with Uncle Daddy now after this whole life or death experience, but if he finds out that he and Toby were the ones behind Virginia getting shot and almost shooting Desna, thats gonna go right out the water.

Yeah, not the first time Rollers been on the crazy bitch rodeo. Melba and Mac are both next level bizarre, even by his shows standards where pretty much everyone is up to an eleven at all times.

I think all of them except maybe Quiet Ann and sometimes Polly would be laughed at. They're all over the top. Not sure why Desna needs to be singled out other than she's the star of the show. She's a character who is loud and flamboyant and her wardrobe reflects that. Just as the wardrobes of Jenn, Roller, Uncle Daddy, and Virginia reflect their characterizations.

Of course, this is exactly why I singled her out.

Word, the wardrobe fits the crazy tone of the show.  I don't think this show is aiming for realism.

Did anyone else notice Melba was reading Michelle Obama's Becoming?

Losing my loving feeling for this show. For me it's too campy and unrealistic now. Like beyond what made the show fun and different.

Also, where is the storyline going to go now that Desna signed over her share of the casino and has proven for the fifty eleventh time that she's a terrible criminal? It's only the 3rs episode.

Finally, the show's depictions of Dean's spectrum disorder and Quiet Ann's sexuality are so fluid in service to the plot of the week that they border on disrespectful.

I think the writers made a mistake taking a dark turn for the show. I think it would've been better if they'd stuck to funny, crazy stuff happening in the nail salon.  Have all types of funny and interesting characters coming in.  I know the show is considered a "drama" but I think it should have been more of a comedy, maybe even a dark comedy.

Also, I'm sick of Dean's so-called spectrum disorder, especially since that isn't what  Harold Perrineau has in real life.  I think it's an insult to those who do have it.

Dustin Hoffman got an Academy Award for playing an autistic man in Rain Man. Jim Parsons won four Emmys for playing a character widely considered to be on the spectrum on The Big Bang Theory. To my knowledge there wasn't any particular negative outcry about either role, and neither actor actually has a spectrum disorder. Like them, Harold Perrineau is an actor.

I can allow for the possibility that Quiet Ann is actually bi-sexual but I also agree that this episode kind of made a mockery of her sexuality. It's not clear to me what doing that accomplished. As far as Dean is concerned, I think the line was crossed last season when they made him an exotic dancer. The humor of it was apparently meant to be the incongruity of someone having a spectrum disorder yet having no problem stripping in public. And Dean is supposed to be particularly good at it for some reason. Ugh. (I also think they've come real close to using a certain racial stereotype wrt Dean's sexual abilities.)

And I took issue with Dustin Hoffman in Rain Man as well.  I never watched Jim Parsons.

Not every woman cares, or should care, about whether random men find them hump or date worthy. And any man who categorizes women as such are probably not much to write home about, either.
