I think people have speculated that her daughter does not work because it seems that her mother is always trying to make her happen. To be fair, I am sure most rich celebrities take care of their close families and close friends who were there for them before they made it big. I am pretty sure Whoopie made sure her mom and brother were taken cared of.. Billionaire Oprah took care of all of her close family even her mother who treated her like shit all her life. If I was rich beyond my wildest dreams, I would give money to my family. I have always gotten the vibe that Whoopie was not really there for Alex and that she relied heavily on her mom to take care of Alex while she pursued her dreams as an artist. Not to mention, Whoopie is an addict, who knows how that may have affected Alex.
