What exactly was the point of bringing in that random cop? Don't know his name, don't care but they have this talented cast that just sit around and twiddle their thumbs most weeks while some pointless other guy chews up screen time.

Who's corn flakes's did Paddy pee in? Wonder if he will get any kind of stand alone episode this season?

It was mildly amusing listening to them try and avoid using any descriptive word for penis.

I agree, but the season did start with him and his previously unknown sister, so maybe the writers think he's already had his turn?  It's Al and Antonio who need more screentime, IMO.

I was just coming here to say the same thing. Why have that random cop when Al O is so good and so underused .

I guess if they bring in random characters they don't have to put any time and energy into developing their own characters.

I agree with Al & Antonio, although Antonio has had the episode with the other random cop we didn't care about (although at least she had a point as the case involved her). Al turned up, what?.. half way through the episode & did barely anything. Platt was MIA.

The unknown sister who was mentioned once & never again....it was hardly a 'focus', rather a bizzare plot device.(although I agree they probably think they have ticked the Ruzek box for character development for season 5)  I am assuming that they will mention the Woods things again at some point, as lately that seems to be all but forgotten again. Even when Woods was hanging around like bad smell for two weeks they didn't even acknowledge he'd been on Ruzek's back. Perfect opportunity to have Ruzek at least look uncomfortable.....but like the majority of this season they have one ball in the air each week and they can barely keep that going.

As Kim Burgess downs the drink poured by Hank Voight and puts the glass on the desk as she exits; Hank's expression says one thing: "Welcome to my world"

It had to be someone who had not learned any good special victims policing from Lieutenant Benson

I see Al has moved over to Chicago Med......well at least he had more screen time over there this week, maybe he should request a transfer, he could be like Hospital Police Liaison or something.

As episodes go this one was kinda blah, c'mon we need some real action here,

I love the way Upton and Halstead are bonding (?) ? But he's right, he's knows almost nothing about her (as do we) and I keep waiting for her past to come barging in, cause she's gotta have one, right?

I thought you could be arrested for buying fake drugs as part of a drug bust. I swear I have read news stories about that sort of thing happening. I imagine it would have something to do with the intent still being there, similar to those To Catch a Predator shows where the offender is never actually talking to an underaged girl, but still gets arrested.

I found that super annoying. This is a show where fairly graphic, and brutal murders happen each week, but someone behind the scenes is worried about the word penis or genitals being said on tv at 10pm.

I was wondering about that random cop that worked with Burgess. When he checked out of the case just before the final operation with Q and Pena, I wondered if he might be up to something and maybe was going to tip off someone or maybe he supplied the gun to Q.

In theory, Upton would fit that criteria since she's new to the team.

But then she is suppose to be great police, thus an outsider let on the team

I think you can be insensitive to victims but still be great police. But bringing in an outsider is probably a lot easier because they don't have to deal with the aftermath and can just move on from it.

I'm eagerly anticipating the Halstead and Upton horizontal dance.  I think Tracey Spiradakos is beautiful and I'm liking her character better than the always conflicted Lindsay.  Really hoping the comment about how she likes girls several episodes ago was part of the undercover persona.

Loved the chase scene with Burgess and the teen kid.  Perhaps a tad too long, but it was pretty exciting watching her go full speed and shouting at the students.  Very realistic.

The woman who played Q was spot on.

@greyhorsei don't think Upton likes girls, she gave a comment in this episode that confirmed it for me, something about dating or liking some one, during a conversation she was having with Halstead, but I'd need to go and rewatch what she actually said, and yes I'm awaiting the horizontal too, ( horrible of us isn't it? Lol, but I agree Lindsay had too much baggage or something)

I think Burgess was actually disappointed that Sarge didn't even attempt to apply any discipline or correction or criticism -- but she has met him before, right? If his expression read as "Welcome to my world," hers was "Oh, shit -- I'm turning into you, aren't I?"

I liked the actress playing Q. But I wanted to see Trudy's take on the whole "sisterhood / sister hood" theme.

I figured Det. Johnathon Schaech was going to be bad news -- but unlike most female guest members of Intelligence, he gets to survive the episode!
