possibilities February 14, 2018 Share February 14, 2018 I just hate Dale, and not in a love to hate way. I don't find him funny or interesting. Even when on some level he's right that they need to at least think about a budget and not go bankrupt, I still just really hate him. But I love Linda the sheep! 3 Link to comment
ElectricBoogaloo February 14, 2018 Author Share February 14, 2018 Awwww, poor Christine. I feel bad for her that she feels so left out now that her card friends are doing stuff without her. But I feel like S1 Christine would not have gone to such lengths to impress them. She wasted so much money on that event that could have gone into promoting or improving their actual business. I guess this could be the beginning of the rodeo branching into becoming an event venue? Anyway, it just seemed strange to me that Christine was so insecure and jealous that she would do something like this. She's usually much more practical. Dale is an ass, but he was the only one trying to keep the costs for this reasonable. I know that Christine and Chip saw him as the buzzkill who was slashing their budget, but they shouldn't have been spending THAT much money on a one night event. They really should have talked about a basic budget before Christine and Chip started charging stuff like crazy. I know Christine gave the four women from her card group VIP everything for free, but were there any paying guests? I doubt they sold enough tickets to put a dent in how much they spent on everything, but every little bit helps! Poor Ken! He flew all the way out to see Christine and she kept forgetting about him. Although I feel I should point out that he could have called her with his ever present bluetooth headset whenever she left him somewhere or forgot about him. 6 Link to comment

peeayebee February 14, 2018 Share February 14, 2018 I was so worried for Christine thruout the ep, but then when everything seemed to be going great, I thought any upcoming failure was a twist. But leave it to Dale. I also felt for him having to put a couple of fireworks -- $1000 worth -- on his personal credit card, and then freaking out when each explosion meant another $500. He really should have explained to Chip and his mom that a company credit card doesn't mean to can charge whatever you want like it's magic. He just assumed that his common business sense would be common to them. What was the sign-flipper's name? Sleezy? Sleepy? I got confused. I feel so bad for Christine having those snobby friends. At least she's got Martha. :) Christine: Have my pillars arrived? Dale: The pillars? Like to sleep on? Cracked me up when Chip described vegan food as being for those with special problems. Martha: Shouldn’t you be back there doing clown stretches and stuff? KEN! 5 Link to comment

I want Christine to win always but I just can't get behind her desire to impress those hideous hell-beasts she considers "friends." And I want her to part with them on her terms and not theirs. I was glad when they got whammied at the end but for sure those biddies are going to Christine over the coals for it and then tell her to bring more celery again to the next card game. To make matters worse, the brother is going to wind up returning and filling Christine with more self doubt. I just want her to run off with Ken and leave everyone else to their misery. OK, fine ... she can take Martha with her. I swear, every time I see her character on TV I just want to run up to it and give her a hug. She's one of my all-time favorite characters on a TV show ever. Link to comment

I yelled at my tv when those nasty hags had the nerve to complain about the fireworks! 2 Link to comment
bilgistic February 14, 2018 Share February 14, 2018 Did the last firework hit the opera singer? I was a little teary for Christine when she was so happy that her friends were so impressed and she sat back with Ken (when she asked him if the singer was singing in Portuguese). It was like things were OK for her for one minute. She's so relentlessly positive and forgiving despite how poorly people treat her. I envy that quality in a person. I wish she and Ken could be together in one place. They are wonderful. I don't think I'll ever tire of hearing "San Joaquin Valley earthiness". 5 Link to comment

Hitherto, I've enjoyed seeing everything come crashing down around everyone's knees. This time, I literally verbalized, out loud, "I hope nothing happens to spoil this." For once, I wanted to see something nice happen, wanted the family and friends to all feel good at the end of a day (or as good as they're capable). But no...
