Roccos Brother January 23, 2018 Share January 23, 2018 (edited) Quote As Grace and Frankie deal with a major disaster in their home, they each keep secrets from other family members. Everyone attends Robert's play. One of the funniest lines in this show - As Coyote is about to enter the house, Frankie shouts,"We're shooting a porno!" Bastet January 23, 2018 Share January 23, 2018 Frankie's face when Bud told her she couldn't babysit Faith was heartbreaking. The actor playing Roy very recently played a rapist in a several traumatic episodes of Major Crimes, so I keep having flashbacks to that when I see him. Frankie suggesting making a molotov cocktail to deal with the rats was out of character; she'd be yelling at Grace to make peace with them. 4 Link to comment

Sesquipedalia January 24, 2018 Share January 24, 2018 (edited) I hate the children so much, but I did lol throughout this episode, from Grace and Frankie threatening Coyote's girlfriend to Grace making everyone walk around her at the play to the rat scene at the end. My favorite eps are when G&F are banding together against the world, even when they're not so successful ("I'm gonna take you down tonight, mothefucker!" . . . "Oh, we got trouble"). I like how the woods-dwelling barefoot contractor is always right about everything. As the daughter of someone who got lost with her children in the car hundreds of times when we were growing up, I can attest to the fact that it's stressful but not the end of the world. Bud represents the worst stereotype of a generation that will not leave home without their phones. Edited January 24, 2018 by Sesquipedalia 4 Link to comment
BosomBuddy January 29, 2018 Share January 29, 2018 I have been re-watching the new episodes and I couldn’t bear to watch most of this one. The Frankie storyline is just too sad for me. 5 Link to comment

My understanding was that Frankie was supposed to be gone an hour or so, and instead was gone for several hours with no contact. That's unacceptable behavior. It doesn't mean that Frankie's incompetent, or can't be with her grandkid, but it would give me serious pause about leaving her alone with the grandkid for any extended period. 7 Link to comment

Again, though...Bud should have had serious pause about leaving Frankie alone with Faith before this ever happened. It was not out of character for Frankie to get lost--or even for Frankie to follow an ice cream truck and, honestly, forgetting a car charger is understandable (especially if she wasn't in her car--I didn't catch if she was driving around in Bud's car or her car). The whole set up was just too set up for me to believe and for me to buy as a catalyst for what came next. On a more general note, "please drive my kid around for an hour" bothered me. If he had asked her to take Faith for a while, or even to take her for a walk, I could get behind that. But to drive her around in a car? Really. Yes, I get that he thought Faith wouldn't sleep without being in a car--I know a number of parents who believe this (and I think they are all wrong). But the whole situation felt like the writers were trying to find some reason for Bud to lose faith in Frankie and, well, they didn't come up with a very good solution. 4 Link to comment
BabyVegas January 30, 2018 Share January 30, 2018 Watching the Frankie/Faith situation, I felt like everybody shouldered some of the blame there. Bud should have known that Frankie is flighty and likely to wander off and Frankie should have double checked that she had plenty of cash and a car charger for her phone. What confused me was that she didn't seem to have any GPS device in the car with her. I don't know if Frankie was still driving her Leaf or if she was driving Bud's car, but either way it seems unlikely that the car didn't have a nav system. If it did, Frankie should have put in a familiar address (such as Bud's or, if she didn't know that off the top of her head, her own) and then gone from there. The whole thing just felt too "we're writing Frankie to have wacky adventures because she's wacky!" 2 Link to comment

Lily is an underrated actress. My heart broke too. On 1/29/2018 at 9:54 PM, BabyVegas said: Watching the Frankie/Faith situation, I felt like everybody shouldered some of the blame there. The whole thing just felt too "we're writing Frankie to have wacky adventures because she's wacky!" Eh, I have a brand new car and don't have a nav system so I don't see that as an issue. Though I can search Google Maps, and recently installed Waze on my phone, which I charge religiously and always have a charger in the car. Frankie's known issues with her phone, and the fact she couldn't legally drive, should have been the primary reasons Bud - a lawyer for God's sake - should never have asked her to drive Faith around. Frankie's also been shown to calm the baby just by being in her presence, so it doesn't even make sense in that regard. On the other hand, as harsh as that was, I did wonder, give Frankie's TIA and increased risk of stroke, whether it would be a good idea to leave her alone with an infant anyway. But it is heartbreaking, nonetheless. I know many people don't think Sol and Robert have chemistry - I haven't been one of them. So I loved that moment when they rediscovered their physical attraction for each other. I saw Meghan McCain on Colbert the other night and thought she is the spitting image of Brianna (or the other way around). 4 Link to comment
Juniebaby February 5, 2018 Share February 5, 2018 Frankie is more than flighty, she is mentally stunted. She has the mind of a 12 year old, in fact I know 12 year olds that can handle more responsibility than Frankie. I don’t know if it’s the drugs or she just never matured, but Bud should have known better. I think he was just so overwhelmed and exhausted that he went against his better judgement and asked Frankie to drive around with the baby. I’m glad I’m not the grandma cause I would have said no to the driving, but would have gladly taken the baby for a long walk. 4 Link to comment
Yeah No March 4, 2018 Share March 4, 2018 Frankie managed to raise two kids that grew up in one piece, so whatever flightiness she has has probably worsened with age, sad to say. Although I'm not willing to see it as related to her age, though. Some people just get worse in some ways as they get older but it isn't one of those "senior" things either. 3 Link to comment
