Athena December 21, 2017 Share December 21, 2017 Quote Joining Graham Norton are Will Smith, starring in new sci-fi police drama Bright, Jenna Coleman, starring in the Victoria Christmas special, and celebrity chef and restauranteur Jamie Oliver, talking about his hit new book 5 Ingredients. With music from Keane frontman Tom Chaplin, who performs Midnight Mass from his album Twelve Tales of Christmas. Link to comment
Corgi-ears December 24, 2017 Share December 24, 2017 (edited) Thanks for ruining Christmas, Will Smith, with your ridiculous need to act out every story that the other guests told, an attention-whorish manoeuvre that went from fucking annoying to cringeworthy -- when you insisted on stepping on Jenna Coleman's punchline even though you had absolutely no idea what the Dr Who reference was -- back to being fucking annoying again. TexasGal March 10, 2018 Share March 10, 2018 Ok, I’m only 10 minutes in and have to say I’m living for Jenna Coleman seeming so unimpressed with Will Smith’s extra-ness. I wonder why BBCAmerica thought it was a good idea to wait 3 months to show the Christmas episode? 2 Link to comment
dubbel zout March 10, 2018 Share March 10, 2018 I had to delete it about five minutes in. Smith had a good crack about being the Christmas Negroni, but wow, he could not. shut. up. 1 Link to comment

Heck, it's been a while since we've had any ep. Or at least it seems like it. Will Smith CAN be entertaining, but, yes, he could not shut up. Has Season 2 of Victoria aired in the US yet? Seems like I've seen more than one season, but glances at the ep descriptions of S2 makes me think I missed it. I'm curious about Jamie Oliver's 5 ingredient recipes. Link to comment

Yes on Victoria, my PBS station just aired the last episode (Christmas special) 2 Sundays ago. I'd forgotten about Will Smith commandeering the cookbook and wanting Jamie Oliver to sign it. 1. That book isn't yours. 2. You went on multiple times about what fans shouldn't do, but you think it's ok to ask for an autograph on a book in the middle of a chat show? 1 Link to comment
dubbel zout March 12, 2018 Share March 12, 2018 It's different when Will Smith does it. 1 Link to comment
Bruinsfan March 12, 2018 Share March 12, 2018 (edited) Ugh. He's gotten on my nerves since refusing to act out any demonstratively gay moments in Six Degrees of Separation after campaigning for the role of a gay con man. (If I'd been the director I would have responded to his refusals with "That's fine, I'm sure there are other unknown young actors out there who'd be happy to play the role as written. We'll send an invoice for the costs of stopping production along with a copy of your contract with the relevant passages highlighted.") Edited March 12, 2018 by Bruinsfan Link to comment

Actually when they came back from the break, it was clear someone had said something to him and he toned it way back. Why did they wait to run a Christmas episode? Link to comment

As I recall, he was advised by another black actor not to do a gay part. I don't feel like googling right now, but I believe it was a big star who told him. Link to comment
attica March 13, 2018 Share March 13, 2018 The scene in which he had to kiss Anthony Michael Hall was blocked so awkwardly, it was apparent they weren't really smooching. But yeesh, who'd wanna snog AMH? ::shudder:: (Kidding. WS's refusal to play the scene was cowardly. Not kidding about being grossed out by AMH.) Link to comment

Bruinsfan March 13, 2018 Share March 13, 2018 (edited) He also nixed appearing in a love scene, and kissing Eric Thal's character in addition to Anthony Michael hall's. So he basically signed on for the job while knowing that he would refuse to perform most of the concrete depictions of his character's sexuality. Who cares about some silly queers getting honest representation in one of their stories when the Fresh Prince needs to build his serious acting cred by any means necessary?
