SuperNormal: Public Appearances, Tweets, Media And Other Social Media Of The SPN Cast

That's interesting! The only shows she's written for that I've watched are Jericho and Reign. But it's cool that it looks like writing for high concept dramas is kind of her "thing." Or at least, imo both Jericho and Reign are high concept dramas. And imo SPN is a high concept drama, too. Or at least it used to be. So I think she might be a really good addition.

Plus, she probably won't feel like she's "slumming it" by coming to SPN from Reign, so maybe she will actually bother to work hard on her scripts (lol).

Interesting. I wonder if this bodes for more romance in the show....

It's a really good sign imo that NW apparently has chops in terms of writing "family drama" type storylines (romantic storylines included). Because those are actually the storylines that need the most help on SPN right now imo

Those cameos would be adorable, I would love it if they did that. It would be awesome to have just no explanation for it at all. Though if they're going to have someone serving Sam and Dean beers, it should totally be Roy or Sara, right? They're the ones in front-of-house food service :P

I would love to see Roy bussing tables in whatever hole-in-the-wall bar Sam and Dean show up at, or for a big shot of everyone fleeing Starling City to include a lone Impala heading the opposite way, right into town.

But if the guys find out that Mary is Cupid, they will flip their shit, so NO Suicide Squad in Lebanon, KS, OK?

Oh dear.  Jared seems to be having an unfortunate disagreement with an airline.  Again.

Hey @Delta thanks for checking my bag and forcing me to waste my time when it would have fit into the overhead bins. Classy move, as ever.

Jared Padalecki ‏@jarpad  29m29 minutes ago
Yes @delta. Joshua at gate B4 in Seattle thought it was a better idea to check my bag than to put it into the overhead bin. #A**hole

Jared Padalecki ‏@jarpad  24m24 minutes ago
.@delta Thank you for not responding. U should keep responding ONLY to what makes you look better, not to where you need improvement.

I read his Facebook post. Which apparently a lot people agree with him.

My note to Delta Airlines:
You asked me to "gate-check" my bag because it wouldn't fit in the packed overhead bins. I said, "Ok, fine." THEN, you tagged it (for pickup at the gate) and I boarded the plane and sat in my seat. THEEEEENNNN, you sent someone on board hand me a tag and tell me that I could pick up my bag at baggage claim and that it would NOT, in fact, be ready for me at the gate.

Trash move.

You misled me and lied to me and deceived me and I don't take kindly to that.

Not to mention the fact that the flight is not full and most of the overhead compartments have PLENTY of space for a bag of that size.

Trash. Trash. Trash.

You need to try harder. Or, at least, TRY.

People are spending their hard-earned money and hoping that they'll receive, at least, some modicum of customer service or human decency.

You provided neither.

I've not had the best experiences with airlines, either, but I've never referred to them as "trash" or an "a**hole" -- nor am I a celebrity.

Only my opinion, of course, but having a public disagreement with a company may not be the best idea.  If he truly wanted someone to apologize for the events in question, perhaps he would get better results if he contacted the company directly.  Public shaming (again, IMO) makes him look like a diva throwing a temper tantrum.

  • Love 2

I don't think he was necessarily looking for an apology.  I dunno, I've gotten to the point where maybe it's takes some kind of celebrity or popular person to motivate change for the better.

subject change

I posted in the other roles but I'll post here too.  JDM in Thomas Wayne in the Batman v Superman film. It feels almost cruel that he's in a Batman movie and Jensen isn't.  But maybe in another 10 years...

(edited)

Like I've said before, someone should revoke his twitter privileges when he gets close to an airplane. There's no benefit for him acting like this. I highly doubt it will motivate anyone to get his bag to him any quicker. Seems like the "classy" move would've been to handle it politely himself rather than using his celebrity status to bully people. But, hey, that's just me. I find patience and manners gets me a lot further than anything.

It's not different than writing a complaint letter to the company. It's being done in a public forum. He's not going after one person, he's complaining about the entire company.  When you read the comments on his Facebook there were 10000 people that liked his post and hundreds of comments complaining about their experiences with Delta.  I have worked in customer/tech support and something like that does get noticed when you have that many customers agreeing there is a problem.

I think in this case...it's not bullying.

He called Joshua, at gate B4 in Seattle, an "a**hole".  That's bullying in my book.  It did no one any good for him to do that.  Especially Joshua -- if I didn't know better, I would think Mr. Padalecki was trying to get him fired.

We have no idea who Joshua is, but I'm sure Delta does.

But mileage varies, of course.

  • Love 1

Devil's advocate...we don't know how Joshua at gate B was towards him.  I've seen gate agents be dicks to reasonable customers in my flying experience for no reason. Don't know if that's the case here. If Joshua at gate B was perfectly reasonable then I think it is bullying. Having worked in support....I have little tolerance for shitty customer/support and if I think their attitude is shitty and uncaring I would talk to their manager.  Would I take to FB on the company's page....maybe so if it's bad enough.

Devil's advocate here, too -- we don't know how Jared acted towards him, either.  All we know is that Jared took to Twitter/Facebook to complain.  Personally, I think he would have been better served if he had taken his complaint directly to the company in question, instead of contacting them through their Twitter handle.

He may have DM'd their Twitter . That's a fairly common thing to do now.  It looks like he did try to contact them and got no response. United, Southwest etc have Twitter for DM'ing these things now.

I agree it's not a great look given his other meltdowns but I'm not convinced that here he's necessarily in the wrong.  But that's just my opinion.

I think name-dropping a person - and the last time it even went so far as posting a picture on twitter of some airline employee - is a stupid move for a celebrity. Who is to say some overzealous fans don`t try to go after them? This fandom has brought up some real crazies so quite frankly giving a version of "it is me, the one you worship, this person displeases me, do with that info what you will" just makes me shake my head.

And as for sticking up for the little guy. Yeah, the company might be nicer to a celeb when they make a public fuss but they will still not make any greater effort for Joe Schmoe back in Economy Class. At worst, bending over backwards for the celebrity means Joe Schmoe gets even less attention.

Personally, I find this open feud with airlines and phone companies rather distasteful.

  • Love 1

Well, I would probably agree with you catrox if it was an isolated incident. This is not the first time Jared has got on twitter to bash airline employees, it's a recurring problem for him. Hey, I finally have a great use for one of my favorite quotes from Justified..."If you run into an asshole in the morning, you ran into an asshole. If you run into assholes all day, you're the asshole."

I just have a hard time feeling sorry for the guy since he's probably already well-known to American Airlines for his past bullying on twitter and I doubt anyone goes out of their way to help him anymore. His "complaint" to the airline was hostile and obnoxious and if I was the person receiving that message, I'd probably just say he was a jerk and help someone who had some manners first. But again, that's just me, I tend to reward positive behavior rather than negative. It's kinda one of those things I learned when working in a day care center when I was in college.

Plus, the dude was trying to carry on a bag that was too big. Seems to me a guy that travels the friendly skies as often as he does would not only know better, but then not go blaming someone else when things went wrong.

I don't think what Jared posted on FB is anything extraordinary.  They didn't do what they said there were going to do with his bag which happens to fliers all the time.  If the bag gets lost, yes, he can afford to go buy new clothes or have someone get him something but Joe Schmoe is not in that position.  It is a terrible way to go about business. I'm not saying Jared is without his faults, goodness knows he's said some things.  But I don't think this is over the top.

It didn't say his bag was too big. They told him they didn't have room. But once he got on he found there was room.

Look it could turn out that I'm totally off base and that he was an abusive dickhead but for the moment I'm reserving judgment that he's totally out of line here.

Edited by catrox14

I feel like maybe someone needs take Jared aside and say gently, but firmly, "Living in the world and dealing with airlines means that sometimes you will be inconvenienced. When that happens, take a deep breath, mutter cuss words to yourself, put on your big boy pants, AND GO PICK UP YOUR LUGGAGE FROM BAGGAGE CLAIM."

If this was a one time deal for him, I'd be more sympathetic, but he seems to go on social media rants whenever things don't go his way in these types of situations. See DittyDotDot's marvelous Justified quote above.

  • Love 3

I'm not saying he was an abusive dickhead. I was just saying, if he's having recurring problems with the airline customer service it might not be the airline service, but the customer and taking his personal beefs to twitter might not be a very adult way to handle the situation. Might be smart of him to try a different tact and see if he doesn't get better results?

  • Love 2

We don't know that he didn't already go the kindness route and got nowhere.

There are people in the world that like to give celebs are harder time just because they are celebs. He doesn't strike me as the type that just goes um "Yeah I'm a celebrity so give me special things" like out of the gate.  He seems to be asking for basic things that anyone would want.  I dunno that's just how I read his facebook post.

Yes it's not a good look but that doesn't make him wrong in this particular situation.

It's not about being right or wrong to me. He probably is entitled to better service and very well may have been in the right, but he took his personal beefs to a public place--and not for the first time--which I find distasteful. I might be able to muster a "you go" to the guy if he had at least taken two seconds to compose an eloquent complaint that would be worthy of such a sentiment. Unfortunately it read like a petulant child throwing a hissy fit rather than an adult with a legitimate complaint. If he's fighting for the little guy, he needs to do it better so he gets taken seriously.

  • Love 2

I have to agree with DittyDotDot. Much to my dismay, Jared seems to react very differently to service people than to his adoring fans. It's the tone of the complaints that I object to more than the complaints themselves...I'd be pissed with AT&T or Delta in similar situations, but his posts seem kind of high-handed to me.

I follow folks on Twitter who have also complained about such things, but in a way that doesn't leave me feeling, like DittyDotDot said, like they're throwing a hissy fit. And usually the Twitter handler for the corporation has followed through.

  • Love 2

The guy just might be tired and cranky right now.  If he was well rested, maybe he would have handled things differently.  Or possibly it may have been the last straw in a string of other mishaps and it was the airline who received the brunt of his bad day.  Little things can set people off on certain days.  Other days it may have been handled better.

So Jensen tweeted earlier

causing much discussion on the interwebz as to his possible costume.   He's not been heard from since that tweet earlier today.  Jared tweeted before he landed (with a pic of the city) Misha and Mark have been tweeting from there. But not Jensen. There is now a hashtag of #WhereIsJensen on Twitter and it's glorious in it's humour and speculation.

That would be awesome, but it looks like he's working on this series: http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/07/10/comic-con-powers-season-2-writing-team-adds-creator-of-the-tick.

That's not The Tick, but a show based on some comic book called Powers--I guess you can stream it through Playstation. It's interesting because since it's not on regular television, there seems to be no limits. Sounds like it would be a fantastic challenge for Edlund.

Changing subjects.

Apparently folks are already in the line for the Supernatural panel which is tomorrow morning at 11 AM HOLY CRAP. That's kind of awesomely weird.

Hey! I'm one of those weirdos. Originally I was going to go back and sleep after getting a wristband but it was kindof a party. Misha came by with pizza, Osric was with him, and Hillywood girls came by with candy.

ETA:

1) Zero Astroflide rumors. That was so 48 hrs ago. Now we are all waiting for Misha to jog by.

2) Line is much shorter but I'm still good with the all night party and sleeping adventure.

3) While I was getting Tahmoh's signature, Jim Micheals showed up to say hi. He said Jensen came in early to play golf yesterday. So I expect his 'costume' was a golfing outfit.

4) Saw Ben Edlunds at the WaywardCocktails party, he's working other projects.

ETA2: yo catrox! I just got live interviewees on KUSI TV. Talked about the. pizza-apocalypse of last night.

ETA3: Jared and airline gate. Love the dude, but he needs to put this fueding to bed. I fly all the time. Airline employees can be rude and they can be great. But 2 out of 5 flights doesn't warrant rage tweeting IMO.

That's fantastic SueB. I'm sorry I missed your interview on KUSI. I'll look for it online.

I think the best thing out of this so far, besides you being in the line (FYI, I would have totally been in line too . No judgment!)...is the #WhereIsJensen...hashtag.

Oh gods. The funny stuff people have come up with.  And I think Jensen just trolled entire fandom and it's the best thing ever.  That man knows just how to drive us batty.  The little shit. LOL

I agree. Jared calling this employee an asshole and complaining about him so angrily and publicly could *easily* cost the employee his job. It's messed up of him to do that imo. I don't care if the employee was an asshole or not, imo you don't threaten somebody's livelihood for something as petty as having to wait for a bag at baggage claim. The imbalance between what's at stake for Jared (minor inconvenience) and what's at stake for the employees he's flipping out on (their jobs! their ability to house and feed themselves ffs!) makes his temper tantrums come off as high handed and arrogant to me, too.

Though tbh between this meltdown over really minor "problems," and the bar fight not too long ago, and the troubles he was having that made him go home early from the cons in Europe, and the way he reacted to his friend's suicide -- he seems a little unstable right now. He's been so volatile. I hope he's doing OK.
