I know the series doesn't take place in real time.

But doesn't it seem funny that Glenn has been dead for a whole year now, and Maggie is pregnant but hasn't even begun to show yet?

According to TPTB, only three weeks have passed since Glenn died.

The Cable Live +3 ratings are in for "Mercy":

The season premiere of “The Walking Dead” made a big jump with three days of delayed viewing.

The AMC show grew from a 5.0 rating among adults 18-49 to a 6.8 after three days. It also tacked on 3.59 million viewers. In both cases, the show’s gains alone would rank in the top 15 in the charts below.
[15.047 million viewers]

And who's taking care of her while Zeke and Jerry are otherwise occupied?  She's lounging in a flat bed truck, with a simple chain on.   I realize she has the magical ability to determine friend or foe (she proved that last season), but most of these people saw her go to town on some humans a few days ago.  For pete's sake, they keep her in a cage during down time in her own home.  A girl gets hungry and there's plenty of living food running around.

There's also food just lion around.  Had to do it.

The Cable Live +7 ratings are in for Episode 801, "Mercy":

The Season 8 premiere of “The Walking Dead” added 2.2 points to its adults 18-49 rating and 4.28 million viewers with a week of delayed viewing. That’s pretty close to the gains the Season 7 premiere made (2.3, 4.5 million) last year.

That’s the good news. The bad is that even with those gains, the Oct. 22 premiere still lags well behind last season. The show’s 7.2 rating in adults 18-49 is off 33 percent from the 10.7 for last season’s debut in Live +7. In viewers, the premiere’s 15.736 million falls about 27 percent short of Season 7’s 21.53 million.

10-22-17 “Mercy” 11.439 million; 15.047 million; 15.736 million
