I think it's a mutual thing since Sami has to revisit the rape storyline and it brings back bad memories. Rafe finds out Jada slept with someone they knew and nobody seemed to notice Rafe wasn't himself.  

I'm guessing JJ trying to win Gabi back is that she finds out JJ knew about Shawn/Jada and didn't say anything? Eh at least this is a conflict that involves someone else's affair and not something JJ did. I expect a Stefan return is imminent.

Wasn't Vivian in jail or is she out again? What is rightfully hers? I am glad to see that Sami will finally have a conversation with Johnny and I hope he gives her as hard a time as he gave EJ. Harder, actually. As others have said, Lucas should be there.

Poor Xander. There is no one he can trust, except Maggie.

I haven't watched today's episode yet, but I'm calling it.  Rita shot EJ.  All these other suspects are canned red herrings, past their sell-by date.  No way Johnny shot him, ditto Chanel.  Ava left too quickly, made to seem to be the shooter and it's never that easy.  Rafe didn't either, he's still probably trying to pull his underwear out of his asscrack after his hissy fit with Jada.  Jada, no way she did the deed either.

It can't be anyone logical.  So it's either Rita or the Hamburgler.

...its kind of ironic. After a whole bunch of dumb storylines, we finally have three big good ones happening at the same time:

-The Death of John (not so much "good" as Impactful)

-Who Shot EJ?

-Sarah's Secret

 

...if Ron was writing plots as involving as these all along...instead of months of BS...things might've gone down differently.

Rachel Black did it, Kristin takes the blame for her and goes to jail. So, it makes sense for the new actress since I read that the current brat would not be able to pull off the emotional scenes required. I am not sure if it was an accident or not. Seems silly to waste all that hatred of EJ on an accident.

I attended the fan event Saturday in Newark and spent a few hours sitting across the table from the delightful Paul Telfer (Xander) and have typed up what I can remember. Nothing crazy spoilery.

Oh boy can he talk. He didn't spoil a lot but I gleaned that the writing is better even if he doesn't love the stories. He is happy with Noel the new producer and says unlike Albert Alaar who just wanted to create a product with no interest in quality, Noel wants to make a good show and cares about it.

He works a lot with Gabi soon but nothing romantic. I assume once they take Titan he is in her orbit. Cherie definitely implied that something happens between Gabi and Philip.

Maggie is angry at Xander in what they are currently filming and as a result he is seeing Marlena for anger management. Not sure how I feel about that. I guess it was inevitable he ended up in her chair. I'm hoping it means a more mature version of Xander if he is trying to fix the issues that made Sarah lie to him. He says the repercussions of that lie are still playing out and they are up to February episodes!

I spent a lot of time with Matt Ashford (Jack). We talked about Ron's perchance for throwing couples into bed with no build up or romance. He spoke about how they built up him and Jennifer for over a year and didn't rush it. He says the actors are well aware of how poorly couples are written these days. He is exceedingly thoughtful and kind. They all were. We talked a lot about the 80s. He fondly recalled the actors who played his two dads Duke and Harper and how great they were. He also clarified why the first two Jacks were fired (cold sore scare/couldn't act). 

The cast are very close. Paul was tactful about Ron but basically said nobody knew what the heck Body and Soul was meant to accomplish. He was relieved he was spared being part of it apart from that one Kate scene. He asked Lauren Koslow what was going on with it and she was all "Hell if I know". He only gets his portion of scripts so had no clue about that story. He said the writing is more adult now. Thank goodness for that! He and Linsey Godfrey who plays Sarah are very clearly best friends. He says he has to remind himself that Xander has less platonic feelings for her and they work really hard on that connection. I didn't talk to her much but she was very sweet and I felt like a giant next to her. 

I was able to tell Judi Evans that she started my life long love of this genre when she was on Guiding Light as Beth and then she showed up on Days as Adrienne shortly after I started watching. She is tiny in person and utterly fantastic to talk to. We mostly talked about Guiding Light and her many pets.

Last minute additions were Julie Dove and Remington Hoffman (Connie and Li). I felt badly for her as she had less fan interest. I showed Remington my photo with Cardboard Li and he thought it was hysterical. I'd love him back. He was gorgeous up close.

Obviously I got a lot from Paul but it's very Xander specific for the most part. He did have lovely things to say about Drake and Susan, and he definitely admires Eric M and Allison for their commitment to their characters. And he had a lot to say about JP vs Jay as Philip. He is very fond of JP but says he's out of his mind.

I think it's safe to say that Xander does learn from this experience and there is some growth under the new writers. He not only understands why Sarah lied (eventually!) but tries to fix himself. Frankly he needed serious therapy last year after his mother wreaked havoc on his life but I'm glad the new team is going there with him. Ron never concerned himself with character driven moments.

Cherie was truly lovely. She is or has been working a lot with JP but I think JJ is still in her story.

Matt is filming with Susan tomorrow.

Paul has been with filming mostly with Suzanne and Dee.

Linsey is isolated with Stacy/Kristen. Hmm

Judi not sure if she has been filming. She and I talked a lot but mostly about real world stuff.

Obviously nothing spoilery from Julie or Remington!

All in all a really good experience. We were all at the same hotel so I ran into Paul, Cherie, Julie, Matt and Remington in the lobby. Paul greeted me with a big hug right at the hotel so I was already in bizarre land. Sitting across from him at dinner was quite surreal, but he has a way of making you completely comfortable.

Yes it was an all day thing with a brunch and dinner and you got seated at a table with one of the actors in a group of about ten. I was directly across from Paul so that was cool.

About JP: Paul says he is out of his mind (and Cherie concurred). He adores him though. He says after months of depressing shit for Xander having JP to play with was so fun for him.

I didn't watch Another World when Judi was on so I skipped right past that! We talked a lot about Beth and her first story with Philip in New York.

I got the sense that Kristen and Sarah might be trapped together?

A lot of this sounds better than what we are currently watching. I know the bar is low but still.. Jack/Julie will be interacting in February(I can't believe they are that far ahead).

I also like that Xander is more grounded in reality(although I don't think he should talk to Marlena this is why they shouldn't have killed off Laura this town needs another shrink)

Kristen is still around? Ugh.

I think it's good you didn't ask Judi about AW(even though that's where I remember her the most) because her RL son played her TV son on the show and given how her son died in RL it might be a touchy subject. That was my first thought when you mentioned this.

No, we talked about the previous Jacks, his two dads, musical theatre, where he is living now (he wants to move to Canada and can cause his Dad was born there- I told him my parents were scared for me crossing the border but my sister had said "Matt Ashford is there-you go!") and the way couples are not developed anymore. He says both Joseph and James were theatre actors and that he had so much fun with all Jack's nightmares about his two dads.

Judi didn't make any mention of filming. She and Matt are very close. I was looking at them and thinking she should be Adrienne.

While Paul was nattering on Matt came up behind him and ruffled his hair. Paul turned around and said there were three people he was hoping that would be and Matt was not one of them.

Paul said she is mad at him about his anger impulses and that's why he seeks therapy. It's part of him realizing he's partly at fault for Sarah feeling she had to lie and taking responsibility for it. Ron would never have bothered.

I don't know. They were tight lipped. Somebody kidnaps Kristen first then Sarah. It's filming for February sweeps

I won the Xander teddy in the auction so I asked Paul to pose with it. It was a must have photo. Now I have to keep my grandson from snagging it. He loves bears. I told Remington I want him back but he didn't indicate it was happening.

Linsey says she is growing her hair long again. We might see that on screen in 2027 lol

It was such a fun experience. I'm normally very reserved and this is out of my comfort zone but all the actors were so kind and easy to talk to. 

I grew up on musical theatre. Matt said he's introduced his young girls to Hello Dolly recently and they loved it. I used to play Camelot and My Fair Lady on my dad's record player. Seeing Phantom in London was a life goal as it was always sold out and I finally got tickets a few years ago. It's my all time favourite show.
