bilgistic October 12, 2017 Share October 12, 2017 This is probably an unpopular opinion, but I didn't like this episode at all. Being high (or drunk) is usually funny only to the people who are high or drunk. (Yes, I get this was an illustration of it, but it was kind of like Pink Floyd's "The Wall"--maybe only enjoyable in an altered state...just a thought.) It did nothing for me. And then Abbi killing the cat? No no no no no. It did make me chuckle that Ilana was asked to peg the male half of the couple and came out of the bathroom wearing the harness with the dildo. It was a callback to the time when Abbi did the same with her then-boyfriend. 8 Link to comment
possibilities October 12, 2017 Share October 12, 2017 I was pleasantly surprised that Abbi's boss (before the very unfunny cat reveal) was actually cool about the shrooms and apologetic about having bothered her on the weekend, since she has previously been shown to be pretty unsympathetic and lacking in boundaries. On the other hand, I didn't buy that Ilana on shrooms would suddenly develop sexual anxiety. Maybe I just don't know enough about mushrooms. I was glad Ilana and Abbi both were at least able to agree that Abbi was in fact at fault for the cat murder, but it wasn't funny to me on any level. I miss Lincoln, so I kind of like that Ilana also misses him. 1 Link to comment

I didn't buy that either. She's always horny, and pegging has been her lifelong fantasy. I could see her at the start being nervous, when the guy said it was like the Sahara down there. I'm not a cat person, but I also didn't like that Abbi was so out of it she didn't realize the cat was in distress. Who lets a cat out anyway, that's not their own? Shallow, but Alana has a great body. 1 Link to comment

She really does which made me extremely disappointed and surprised to hear her disparage it last night's ep. I wouldn't have believed tha the character nor the actress would ever do such a thing. 1 Link to comment

I miss Lincoln, so I kind of like that Ilana also misses him. It wasn't the shrooms that did Ilana (and Abbi), in -- it was mixing their comedown with weed. They were flying high before then, and Ilana mistakenly thought that smoking up would continue the high. Even though I've never done anything more illict than getting drunk, their anxiety and paranoid after mixing the two substances did make sense. As for Ilana having sexual anxiety, remember this is coming after her not seeing Lincoln for some time. I think we've all been at that stage when we thought we were completely over someone, until we unexpectedly run into them. Ilana was single and seemingly free, until she saw Lincoln happily coupled. Up 'til then, her continued way of free love may have been not just her personality, but also a way to bury her feelings, and the combo of the drugs brought it all to the surface. Ilana finally screaming her frustration out after unfriending/deleting Lincoln supports it, imo. Edited October 12, 2017 by cyberfruit 1 Link to comment
luna1122 October 12, 2017 Share October 12, 2017 The cat thing was awful. Not funny. I expect more from this show. 2 Link to comment
rlc October 12, 2017 Share October 12, 2017 (edited) I thought it was refreshing that they finally showed (somewhat) realistic consequences to their behavior and general lack of responsibility. Abbi finally was being recognized by her boss, but screwed that up majorly, and Ilana is coming to terms with the fact that she does actually have feelings. DrivingSideways October 13, 2017 Share October 13, 2017 I didn’t think was very funny ... my partner, who had a long drug period in his teens and twenties, was peeing himself with laughter. I don’t understand the inclusion of the cat murder. That was dark and not funny. I’m a little bit disturbed by that reveal. 4 Link to comment
msani19 October 14, 2017 Share October 14, 2017 The cat death was unnecessary. I don't understand why I've seen the death or murder of pets in a few sitcoms recently, why would writers think this is funny? It's not. The animation was well done. Damn! Ilana has a bangin bod! Getting myself back into the gym and throwing this delicious burrito away. The woman in the hot couple looked SO familiar but I'm too lazy to look her up. Too bad Ilana froze when she was with them and didn't get to check that off her list. Link to comment
msani19 October 14, 2017 Share October 14, 2017 Thank YOU! Better Things that's where I saw her! But I remember thinking the same thing when I saw her in Better Things (clearly didn't investigate who she was then either!). But I really think I've seen her in something from years and years ago....at some point I'll look and report back. Not that we really care, but I'd at least like to end this speculation even if it's only for me! Link to comment
ganesh October 14, 2017 Share October 14, 2017 I know her as Fig, on OITNB, so I flipped out when I saw her. 1 Link to comment
msani19 October 14, 2017 Share October 14, 2017 Ok, so I finally checked her IMDB credits and I was completely confusing her with someone else! But I think I've probably seen her in a lot of the shows she's appeared in so she just seemed really familiar. 1 Link to comment
Milburn Stone October 14, 2017 Share October 14, 2017 The cat murder mainly bothered me because it was so damned predictable--Abbi's on a roll, therefore naturally she's going to do something to make it all come crashing down on her head. What about, for a change of pace, she has some success that actually lasts for more than five minutes? 4 Link to comment
