GHScorpiosRule August 31, 2017 Author Share August 31, 2017 What a lameass episode for the show's ? episode.? I'll be honest and admit I was zoned out for most of it. Only on this show can lawyers win their cases by blackmailing TEH VILLAIN and his or her lawyer, instead of, you know, actually try by legal means? First there's the Ex-Parte Mike pulled on the judge, who revealed that Frank had been murdered. Or, maybe he didn't because Mike wasn't supposed to be handling that case/not case/case/class action/not class action/criminal case/no grounds criminal case??????? Since the DVD could be a deathbed confession, hey! New civil case and using tv Law logic, bring in the criminal stuff and have the Reform whatever go to jail or pay through the nose. Naaw. Having Robert, who I thought was a lawyer who played by the rules, while being a SHARK, stoop to Harvey and Mike's level was VERY DISAPPOINTING. Does no one on this show have any integrity or respect for the law? Oh, wait. Forgot what show this was. Louis and Samantha?(Rachel Harris)=????????????? Poor Poor Donna!(insert sarcasm). Because the shrink/ex-shrink that Harvey is banging knew which restaurant to make reservations to celebrate their TWO MONTH!!!! Anniversary, she decides she's going to fuck her ex? In retaliation for what, exactly? Harvey didn't cheat on her. And she was trying to prove to ex-shrink she knew Harvey better. I never ???so hard as when I saw her expression and face fall when ex-shrink told her where she'd made the reservation. And big whoop, Donna changed her mind at the last minute. BEST part of the show? The commercial/promo for Psych, with Shawn and Gus talking about this show, and Gus fawning over Alex!??? It's like they've been playing Shawn and Gus after the show ended, it was so...seamless? The chemistry is STILL there! That's why ❤️Shawn????❤️and ❤️????❤️Gus ????❤️are my favorite OTP!! Is it December yet????? 1 Link to comment

The way they spoke to the judge at the hearing - the language, the failure to use any legal basis for arguing their points . . . Just the beginning of a very, very bad episode. Then Harvey decides they just have to find dirt on Zane. Blackmailing opposing counsel is not the way lawyers work! I loved that the psychologist wasn't even going to mention what restaurant she was taking Harvey to - that is how pathetic Donna has become. 3 Link to comment

Saying the word "sh-t" to a Judge's face? They would certainly hold them in contempt. The whole thing with Donna/Louis and their exes? No, thanks. Though, I have to keep reminding myself this is a soap opera that takes place in the legal world. I do like seeing Jay Harrington, regardless of the boring plot he has on this show. He was hilarious as Ted Crisp in Better Off Ted (2009 - 2010). I can't believe this was the 100th episode. What a crappy milestone. 2 Link to comment
bros402 September 1, 2017 Share September 1, 2017 That was a surprisingly horrible episode. It was even worse than Scandal's 100th episode. 1 Link to comment
ItCouldBeWorse September 1, 2017 Share September 1, 2017 (edited) In NY, a deathbed confession doesn't mean that the criminal confesses and then dies so is unavailable to testify. A deathbed confession, or "dying declaration" as it's known in NY, is as follows: http://prosecutorsdiscretion.blogspot.com/2012/09/dying-declarations.html 1) The declarant must be unavailable to testify because he died due to the action, 2) the prosecution must be for a homicide case, 3) the declarant must believe their death is imminent when they make the statement, and 4) the statement must be about the cause of death or its circumstances. Gallo didn't confess to Zane thinking he was about to die, so the tape would not be admissible. Finally, someone realized that the case should go to Zane, except now that Alex is in peril, expecting Zane to not go all out in order to protect Alex must mean Harvey, and then Mike, have a very low opinion of Zane's professional ethics, even after he specifically told Harvey that if he took the case, he was going to go all out. Harvey and Mike think that everyone's ethics are as poor as their own. Why didn't Louis specifically ask Sheila what made her fiancé worth giving up Harvard for, whereas she wouldn't do it for Louis? Or was it that Louis wanted kids and Sheila didn't? I'm a little fuzzy on the details. Now Louis is making a practice of sleeping with women who have steady boyfriends/are engaged? Donna's lucky that Rachel pulled her back from the brink. Who could respect a man who cheats on his wife because their relationship isn't great, but is too cowardly to break up with her? (There don't appear to be kids to worry about.) He's a loser. Sheila, of course, is just insane. Edited September 1, 2017 by ItCouldBeWorse 3 Link to comment

sweetandsour September 1, 2017 Share September 1, 2017 This should be Suits' last season. I won't be surprised if some of the main cast re-up for season 8, but it should end now. They've shown that they have no interest in real growth from Mike - he'll always act like the smartest guy in the room who justifies the despicable things he does and blames everyone else for the consequences. If there's a spinoff that goes beyond pilot stage, I'd rather they just do a Robert Zane show because he's the only one that I really like. 2 Link to comment

Cthulhudrew September 2, 2017 Share September 2, 2017 Writers Room: "So, what's the story for our next episode?" "Oh, how about this- Mike and Harvey pass the Reform Corps case off to Robert Zane in order to protect Alex, and then spend the rest of the episode trying to tank the case!" "Yeah, that sounds great that... wait, that doesn't make any sense at all." "Nope!" "Well, we've got to get this the hell written by tomorrow, or else we all shit the bed, so, guess that's what we're going with!" 5 Link to comment

Right, I know about that one, but I don't know if it's for sure being picked up to series or they're going to wait and see how the back-door pilot embedded in Suits goes. I would still rather watch Robert Zane than Jessica (though I like her just fine). 1 Link to comment

And I was surprised how fast Mark was willing to go out with her. Then to make matters worse he is married. And he had the nerve to call her twice. Of course he was instantly willing to go out with her. He's been pining after her all these years -- she's Donna. 2 Link to comment

First of all, it's an oxymoron because "anni" means "year". Second, it speaks of making too much fuss over every possible thing and counting one's chickens before they're hatched. 1 Link to comment
statsgirl September 15, 2017 Share September 15, 2017 It says something about relationships in the present when being with the same person for two months is something that is celebrated. I saw Donna going to Mark because she felt that everyone was moving on and she was still stuck, and she'd made the wrong decision about rejecting Mark to stay with Harvey, who was also moving ahead with his life. 1 Link to comment
Slovenly Muse March 31, 2018 Share March 31, 2018 Ugh. Catching up on this show again AGAINST my better judgment (it's nice to have something on in the background I don't care about when I'm doing some Spring cleaning), and although this season has been a typical mess so far, this episode really hit a new low. Did I miss something, or did Harvey and Zane basically set Gallo up to get murdered to protect Alex? I mean... they knew the inmates were being used to kill people inside prisons, that the two CEO's were behind it, and that they'd already tried to kill Gallo once before for refusing to follow orders. Then Zane interviews Gallo, confirms that the CEO's will murder people who threaten them, then goes to the office and tells that CEO that he has an inmate willing to testify ("You know who"). Then the CEO tells Harvey "Make sure Gallo never takes the stand" or whatever. At this point, Harvey and Zane, working together (?), know that the CEO knows who is testifying against him, and wants to shut Gallo up. They also know he specializes in killing people inside prisons. They also know that, through whatever fantastical rules of legal proceedings exist in this dumb universe, Gallo getting murdered is the only way they both get what they want: Gallo's testimony admitted in a way that does not incriminate Alex. So if they truly did NOT see the hit on Gallo coming, then they are both idiots who are not remotely qualified to handle high-stakes (or even low-stakes) cases. And if they DID see it coming and did not attempt to protect Gallo, then they just sacrificed a man's life (a "decent" man, according to Mike) to protect a colleague's reputation. I mean, I thought they were going to pull out a last-minute reveal that it had all been some dumb elaborate ruse, where they baited that CEO into trying to have Gallo killed, tricked him into thinking it was successful, and then used the attempted murder of Gallo to prove their case. But no! They were just moronic and heartless enough to sell out Gallo for real. Like I said, I kind of only half-watched the episode, so maybe I missed something important. For example, I'm not entirely sure when Harvey and Zane were actually really working together, instead of against each other, but in any case, they each individually had ample reason to suspect that Gallo's life was in danger because of his participation in the case, and neither did anything (individually or together) to prevent his death. That's pretty fucked up! In light of that nutso story, it feels dumb to complain about the romantic storylines in this episode, but sure. If Donna thinks she can make herself feel appreciated by sneaking around with a man who only wants to be with her when HE doesn't feel threatened by her work with Harvey, then JFC, is she never qualified to give anyone relationship advice ever again. And if Sheila wants to sleep with her ex before getting married, no person with a brain could ever think that marriage has a chance in hell of getting off the ground. And of course Louis and Donna are both going to torture themselves over this, and use Harvey's personal issues with infidelity as an excuse to make themselves feel worse, proving once and for all that this show is just an endless cycle of characters who purport to be friends making each other miserable. Why do I do these things to myself? 1 Link to comment
