The networks are the ones who sell commercial time, not the producers of the shows.

Yeah but as far as I've read, Chuck Lorrie sitcoms have more minutes of commercial time per 30 minute show than most if not all shows out there.  By the time it ended BBT air time was something like only 18.5 minutes, meanwhile the average 30 minute show has about 22 minutes of air time.  Perhaps they're selling more commercials to help support the high cast salaries and/or the high cost of producing the show.  Or maybe just to make more money because a popular show might have more power to do what it wants.

The reason CBS puts in more ads per episode? Because it can. The trend since single sponsors for series gave way to networks selling individual spots has been ever more minutes of commercials per hour. The only thing that has stopped it has been the decline of network viewership and the fact that they simply can't sell more ads. Chuck Lorre makes shows that bring in wide audiences with solid demos that sponsors want to buy ads on, which is rare these days so they can get away with more commercials. If other sitcoms still brought in numbers like YS or BBT this would be the standard. FWIW the writers and producers don't like it because it is harder to get everything you want into an episode. But they have the big residual checks from the multiple network reruns, streaming, and syndication to wipe away their tears.

Isabel May, the actress who played "Veronica" in several season 2 and 3 episodes (she was the "bad girl who found Jesus" and Georgie had a crush/friendship with), is in the new Paramount+ series "1883". It stars Sam Elliott, Tim McGraw, and Faith Hill.  I saw a promo for it on the Paramount channel.

I just found out that Wallace Shawn is a big defender of Woody Allen.  Has been for years.  I am incredibly disappointed.  I'm hoping I can separate the actor from the role as I love his character on YS but I admit it's going to be hard to do.

I don't know if this has been discussed but if they ever do a movie about the halcyon days of Mr. Rogers, I think Jim Parsons would be fantastic in the role.

sorry, Tom Hanks beat him to it. And did an amazing job. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Beautiful_Day_in_the_Neighborhood

Side note -- the Tom Hanks movie is great, but the full documentary about Mr. Rogers made me cry and go rewatch random episodes on Amazon Prime. The world would be a much better place if Mr. Rogers were still in it. https://www.hbo.com/documentaries/wont-you-be-my-neighbor/about

Yes but that was old, grey haired Mr. Rogers. I'm talking about Mr. Rogers when he was i his prime. I saw that Tom Hanks movie. It was surreal.

Were you watching him being interviewed on Daily Blast Live (huge DBL fan here)? That's where I found out about that and I'm just as disappointed.

Just read that Ray Liotta has died.  Aside from this being totally sucky news it occurred to me that we won't get a chance to see him again on Young Sheldon.  I was kinda hoping  he'd show up in the laundromat one day.

I immediately thought of this show (and he and MeeMaw in the casino) when I read this.

Spent the last week or so binging a series from the 2010's missed in first run, Hart of Dixie. Thoroughly enjoyed its endearing, quirky characters and its heart. Kinda like The Gilmore Girls set in Alabama. A definite "comfort food" kind of show.

Big fan of The Chosen, so when Jonathan Roumie made a very small appearance, the whole neighborhood must have heard me yell, "JESUS!!!!"

Which was followed in short order by an equally loud, though not quite as enthusiastic, "PASTOR JEFF!" when I realized it was Matt Hobby playing one of a trio of musical backwoods brothers. (He would have received a more enthusiastic greeting had he not been such a spineless jackass for much of last season.)

Hey - maybe a musical episode of Young Sheldon in the future?? 🤣😂
