S03.E17: Girl Meets Hollyworld

"Girl Meets Hollyworld" is far from the show's best offering, but its lack of structure seems all the more relevant in our new post-truth society.

You can say that again. What a mess, even by the standards of a bad Girl Meets World episode. I don't expect Emmy-worthy material, but I do expect the fundamental elements of storytelling. I've had dreams that were more coherent than this.

And Sarah's father's name is "D.W. Preminger"...for what reason, exactly? To combine the names of two famous film directors (D.W. Griffith and Otto Preminger)? Despite previously establishing that Sarah's last name is "Carpenter" (the same as that of the actress)? If only there were a famous director with that surname.

If the episode had stuck to being a meta poke at the show itself, ala Eric Hollywood, I would've loved it.

The decision to center it on nails on a chalkboard Katy and her secret hillbilly friend? No thanks.
