S02.E20: Djibouti Call

Recommended Posts

While on a secret mission in Djibouti, Africa, with his new Homeland protégé, Tim Armstrong, Cabe is captured and Team Scorpion must save him.

I thought there was a thread for this already, but I can't find it.

Did Cabe really say he had to go talk to Captain Janeway? If only they could have stuck with fun Star Trek references. The torture porn was so unnecessary. Rogue antiquities dealers don't have to be thugs too. Of course Cabe healed instantly, so I guess that makes the torture okay and/or he's secretly Superman.

And Sly dropping and breaking the bowl? Any of us who have glued together broken objects know that using more clay to fuse it together would have left added bulk to that crack.

And a love triangle?

Wait. What's that I see? A shark?

check my brain at the door and

It does chafe that I have to check my brain at the door to watch a show about geniuses, though.

Meant to say above that I usually enjoy Sly, but since his storyline right now is intermingled with the ambulance chaser lawyer's, I just can't.

Also, was I the only one hoping the bad guys would just keep Cabe?

On the addition of Porter - maybe they felt the show needed a Captain Kirk. You've got a Spock with serious daddy issues (Walter), Toby (Dr. McCoy) is in love with Happy (Scotty), and Sly is the loveable (but paranoid) leader of a new colony on Leper VI. Ralph is the tribble. And Paige is the stick up the bum Ambassador they're transporting to Goody2Shooz IX.

Ah, Scott Porter.  Even when your in the middle of Africa, wielding a gun, and flirting with Katherine McPhee, you'll still be Jason Street to me!  I'm guessing he'll stick around for a few more episodes, while Walt hangs in the background and seethes with jealously.

So, Horiato Sanz really is just here to keep Sly's game show story going along.  It was entertaining at first, but it is getting ridiculous now.

I kind of understand Toby's twisted logic that doing dares is a way to come down from his normal gambling addiction, instead of just quitting cold turkey.

I normally enjoy Sly, but his freakout over the monkey kind of lost it's humor, since it was actually causing him to fuck things up and even endanger the mission and team.  Although, I guess we're suppose to credit the second one for distracting the second card, and letting Cabe get the jump on him.
