S02.E03: Anthony Anderson vs. Tracee Ellis Ross

Recommended Posts

They both seemed to know the lyrics and I thought it was a very fun episode.

I didn't know Tracy was Diana Ross's daughter.

And Chrissy was eating for real during the show! I'd usually think it was a bit weird to be pigging out on camera for no apparent reason, but maybe she can be a role model for not starving yourself?

I loved this ep! Lots of fun - both AA and TER seemed to be having a ball and they were EXCELLENT lip-synchers. I enjoyed it from start to finish - and Chrissy didn't even bother me that much! And no "fake fighting" from the co-stars. a little good-natured ribbing, but no pretend glares or shit talk.

Man - put Tracee in a Marilyn McCoo gold lame dress and she would be the spitting image of her mom. The hair certainly sold that.

I do have to say, however, that JGL's original Super Bass still reigns supreme in my heart.

An adorable episode. Anthony Anderson & Tracee Ellis Ross have great romantic chemistry onscreen on Black-ish and are great friends IRL. They both did great jobs with each of their numbers, but TER's take on "Love Is A Battlefield" was hilarious. If she did one of her mom's songs, that would have been predictable and it would have deprived the world of that performance.

Who won, DVR cut out

 Tracee did.

This was a fun episode. Both contestants were really good, although not the best. And it was probably the most evenly matched episode I have seen.

Plus it always impresses me that Anthony Anderson has probably had the most steady working/successful acting career of anyone who was on any of those NBC Saturday morning teen shows (he was on hang time). Sure some of the Saved by the Bell people are more famous but Anderson seems to have been working the most steadily. Hell the dude was a main character in Law and Order.
