Which we don't know will happen yet or what will happen in the finale for that matter.  I get people's anxiety over the spoilers but I still need to actually see it before freaking out.  If it sucks well then I reserve the right to bring all of the pitchforks, haha.

To be fair, it's not as if we don't have lots of examples of this show doing the worst/dumbest possible thing. I think the pessimism is largely warranted.

LOL did SA really say he thinks a good series finale would be Oliver dying? WTF. Did he fall and hit his head? First he likes the baby mama crap and now that? Yeah, I want to dedicate 6 plus years of my life watching a show where the hero's journey ends with him dead.

EYE ROLL.

I can see him saying it though. He sometimes literally forgets what type of show he is on. Sometimes it's Parenthood, sometimes it's Breaking Bad/GoT. He literally wants to use Arrow to act out all of his TV fantasies. I mean good for him, but he is on a CW superhero show. I can count on my hand the number of CW shows that have had series finale in a tragic ending of the titular character. It's not how the CW rolls SA.

He really needs to find himself a cable project after Arrow ends, I think it would fit all of his needs.

I think it sort of makes sense. Lyla said that there were 2 parts of Diggle. One that she married and one that she divorced. Right now Diggle isn't being the man that she loves, he's being the man that he divorced?

IDK  :p

That's what I was thinking, Lyla to Diggle if she finds out the truth about Andy's death.  DR said the fallout would continue into next season.

I'd hate it if the line was Felicity to Cooper.  She should have given up on him long ago.  Definitely not Felicity to Oliver though, after her remarks in the underground casino, she's still in love with him.

I can't say as I blame him for trying to get some of his ideas in play considering how marginalized he became in HIS OWN DAMN SHOW and in the Flarrowverse altogether.

Yeah, that's a problem with this show in general, the misery. I get that unrelenting misery works for some movies, and some shows, but not for a SUPERHERO show on the CW!

I have no problem with his ideas being taken into consideration. I have a huge problem with the fact that his ideas seem to suck.

I think many actors like the idea of their characters dying on the finale of their show.  it puts the 'finis'  there and underlines it.  "No one else will ever carry on this show now that I'm gone."

Viewers, on the other hand, like the idea of their favourites carrying on in some fantasy version of the show they loved.  I really can't see Berlanti & Co. wanting to end the series with Oliver dying.  It's just too depressing.  Not to mention, it would probably cut into the DVD sales (if they still exist) and re-broadcasting of the show.  Who's going to want to watch 5+ seasons of Arrow knowing that he dies in the end?

Oliver's story has always had misery and trauma from the pilot forward. I'm not understanding why that's a problem now. I don't mind the angst. But then I watch Supernatural so I have a high tolerance for angst and misery.

I don't think his idea about Oliver having a kid in and of itself sucked. It was the execution at the hands of the writers that made it suck. He was stupid about the sleeves on the new costume. What other ideas has he had that sucked?

/raises hand.

Depending on how well it's handled it could be a great heroic death and might make sense for the character. I think the Winchesters dying makes sense in SPN.

It's not just the misery it's how the misery is balanced with other things that these writers have lost sight of in Season 3 and 4.

We've been dicking around with DD for 22 episodes. He's shot up a beach clean up, paralyzed Felicity, planted Andy as a mole, killed Laurel, successfully nuked a town, kicked Oliver's ass over and over again with his patented chest caress. All well barely having a motivation or a back story. Add in Ruve and Anarchy as reappearing PINAs that managed to get around Team Arrow at every turn - I'm tired.

In Season 2 Slade wasn't introduced until the mid-season finale but we had 2 years of flashbacks to get to know his character and while his motivations might have sucked we knew who that character was. Along the way we had small victories with VOTW (the Doll Maker, the Count, the copycat Hoods) Significant victories to balance out the misery that Slade was about to bring. Once Slade was revealed the team got the cure, saved Thea, and saved Roy in the build up the final battle. When things were really bleak we also had the team relationship to fall back on. The friendship and partnership were brought to the forefront.

Season 3 and 4 had limited VOTW, splintered team, failures galore up until the final act, a big bad that just hung around for far too long removing any fear factor he might have had. With the cherry on top being the continued MM hoops that this show is jumping through and the repeated storylines.  It's misery porn on top of exhaustion.

Hell, 4A and 4B seem like completely different seasons to me. I can't believe how positive I felt from 401-409-- yes, even with the BMD in 408 I was on the wait-and-see boat because the earlier episodes had so restored my faith in the show-- compared to how I feel now. Which is a combination of dread and "let's just get this shit over with." My expectations are so low at this point that the only way the show can disappoint me further is the remote possibility they won't kill Poppy.

Do we think the Flash reset is going to impact every series in the universe, if at all? I see up thread there is discussion of spoilers that are making people freak. But I can't seem to find anything that leads me to the same freak out.

If Barry doesn't become the Flash, how does it really change Arrow? With the exception of the time shift he created in the Vandal Savage episode, I can't think of anything else.

Another thing that I can think of is the season 2 backdoor pilot. Barry saved Oliver's life when he was accidentally injected while on a mission. Felicity and Diggle couldn't save him in time, so that's why Felicity exposed Oliver's secret to Barry. It's possible that by not meeting Barry, Oliver might have survived, but it's hard to say. I also am under the assumption that Barry would not have looked for his mother's attempted murderer so he would not have gone on this hunt for superpowered people, as he explained in season 2.

Also, the team would have been stuck in Nanda Parbat last season without Barry's help. It would have taken them a while to get out, at the very least.

He probably wouldn't have fought Cyrus in that warehouse without Barry either.

So Damian will give up his winning position - about to kill all of Team Arrow plus Donna & Curtis - to save his daughter. Who he's going to kill in a couple of hours anyway. Yeah, he's left logic waaay behind.

Not trying to be mean here, but...I legit can't tell how hold his daughter is supposed to be.

At least she seems to understand that something bad is happening. Worlds brighter than the spawn.

Kids regress during traumatic times, but have these writers ever met children before? I bet Daughter would get along well with Spawn.

Spawn did get along with Daughter. Quite well, I believe. Didn't they bond the last time over their love of coloring and such?

It might be because I haven't really been following the spoilers all that much, just reading the discussions here and there. But, man, this episode is kinda making me feel tense. Really liking it, so far.

There's a touch of the Wednesday Adams about spawn.

I see the baddies have not improved their aim since chasing Olver and Dig through the evil corn palace town last week.

Felicity's holding Laurel's night stick!

Still don't care about the flashbacks and it's the session finale.

Enough with Malcolm!

And was Laurel's really that much of a Pollyanna? Because I don't remember her that way.

I think it's because he was using his regular voice when he needed to use his GA voice.

I've really liked the score so far--it's been fantastic and enhances the suspense of the scenes.

Hated that Curtis gave the inspirational speech. Ugh

Do it, Oliver!  Kill her! She is literally begging for it. (Bye#Poppy)

I'm a terrible person. After Oliver said "We will survive" I fully expected Malcolm to shoot Oliver with an Arrow LOL.

Well it is JB's fave song...

Dig is still wrong, Andy may not have had a weapon pointed at Sara and Lyla at that moment but he was threatening them and he would have followed through. It was a "good kill."
