I don't know if it's the best, but Sean Connery popping up as King Richard in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. I was a kid when it came out and every adult in the theater made a sound of appreciation.

I like the cameos in Thor Ragnarok, but prefer the more subtle ones.

Peter Jackson and Cate Blanchett in Hot Fuzz would be my preferred cameo types

OMG I had no idea. I've watched this movie so many times, in fact I've probably watched it twice this year alone and had no idea that was him.
