Jersey Guy 87 March 30, 2015 Share March 30, 2015 Finally, while I appreciated the blindside, Mike's throwing that challenge was kind of unnecessary if he was throwing it to protect Kelly because Kelly was not in danger of going home. And man that woman's not too bright in memorization challenges - like how many ways could Mike have blatantly kept throwing that challenge for her before she got it? However, I guess throwing the challenge was good in breaking up very quickly what could have potentially being a very, very annoying and obnoxious and formidable alliance of Rodney and Joaquin. Mike is less dumb. Throwing a challenge to get rid of someone you don't like or even someone who could win a lot of individual immunities is always a bad idea. Throwing a challenge to protect your main ally who looks to be in the minority on the other team? Sometimes justifiable. Still not a good play if you don't have your ducks lined up though, you're right. No, Mike was dumb. Kelly was the swing vote in a 3-3 split (assuming Mike knew nothing of the actual tribal dynamics, which he didn't). Both factions (WC and NC) would be trying to get Kelly's vote to break up the other faction. Mike had no way of knowing that WC was fragmented and Carolyn would go along with NC, and even then the vote was not going to be for Kelly. Sorry, if his primary reason for throwing the challenge was to "save" Kelly he threw it for no reason. I'm enjoying the dynamics since they merged three tribes into two. The split factions of WC and NC are making things very interesting, I'm looking forward to see how things shake out when they get down to one tribe. Last week I think Jenn got it wrong - it's really Rodney and Dan competing for most annoying Survivor contestant ever, not Max and Shirin. Well, at least most annoying of this season - after all there's Rupert and Coach (and multiple Hanzes, and Philip and...). 2 Link to comment
millennium March 31, 2015 Share March 31, 2015 I just realized: there was bread at the food reward. So, if anybody had wanted a sandwich, Will could have scooped some beef onto it and made them one. And he did actually score in that challenge, so, yeah, I think he does get credit. Even though he specifically said they were supposed to be sandwiches from the sea, well, fine. You're on the beach. Dunk your sandwich into the ocean and rinse it around like a raccoon. As far as I'm concerned, prophecy fulfilled. I am glad you caught that, because I stood up and shouted at the TV: "You said there would be sandwiches, you oaf! Here's your chance!" And he could have topped it off with a shit-eating grin, "See? I told ya there'd be sandwiches." Why is he still around, anyway? 2 Link to comment
Gweilo March 31, 2015 Share March 31, 2015 After the votes were read, Rodney's face looked like a muppet trying to do long division. 5 Link to comment

ProfCrash March 31, 2015 Share March 31, 2015 Or Vince. Will made a good call in voting out Vince first. That left Nina as the target of the next vote. It saved him in the game. A fan of the show knows that there is going to be a tribe swap after four players are voted out and a merge after six players are voted out. I believe Will is a fan so he would have known that he needed to make sure he got to the first shuffle because he was low man in his alliance. That meant tossing someone who others were interested in tossing, Vince, a vote early so that Nina would go next. That move bought him at least three days. Then blue collar losses the fourth Immunity and Will makes it to the swap. The tribe is larger, so it is easier for him to blend in and allow the more annoying personalities to become targets or for his group to target another tribes alliance. Bye-Bye Max, and then probably Shirin if they lose again. Now Will is at the merge and is not seen as a immunity threat or a strategic threat, not a bad place to be. Mike had a choice between voting out Joe and Joaquin. Both are one of four remaining people from the original tribes. Mike doesn't necessarily know which group is more dysfunctional, White Collar or No Collar. Joaquin seems to have seduced Rodney, which is bad for Mike's game, so Mike chooses to boot Joaquin. He really doesn't know why that was a bad move because I doubt that Joe was talking about how tight he was with the other three on his tribe. They had lost two immunity challenges which could easily be seen as a tribe that doesn't work together and an easier target at the merge. 2 Link to comment
