Cranberry January 9, 2015 Share January 9, 2015 West Coasters can start here! As requested, this is a liveblog thread for the first two episodes of Glee's final season. If this goes well, we will do a liveblog thread for the finale as well, although not for the normal episodes during the season. This thread is for live reactions as the premiere episodes air. It will be open from 8-10pm EST and again for the west coast run at 8-10pm PST. Outside of those periods, this thread will be locked, so please take your discussion to the episode discussion thread. Anyone who fights with/insults other posters will have their posts removed, and depending on how much cleanup I have to do, could get this thread closed. We don't want that, so play nice! Thank you, and enjoy the episodes (or mocking the episodes, at the very least)! Link to comment
shantown January 10, 2015 Share January 10, 2015 (edited) So they're still going with awful meta? "First show with a zero share." "Think they'll watch the second episode?" "Blame everyone else." Edited January 10, 2015 by shantown Link to comment
Cranberry January 10, 2015 Author Share January 10, 2015 The gold star fell off her trailer door. It's a metaphor, you guys. This show is sooooo smart. Link to comment
SevenStars January 10, 2015 Share January 10, 2015 I can't believe they use this song, wow. they wasted "uninvited". Link to comment
Danielle87 January 10, 2015 Share January 10, 2015 Lol was the show shading itself with starring in the "worst show ever". Link to comment
tab19 January 10, 2015 Share January 10, 2015 Wow, two songs back to back. WTF? Okay, the dogs made me laugh. Link to comment
fakeempress January 10, 2015 Share January 10, 2015 Rachel seemed more distressed by the news of the house sale than her dads divorcing. Link to comment
shantown January 10, 2015 Share January 10, 2015 Year 3 of college is starting? Did we skip a whole year? I'm confused on the timeline. Link to comment
Hana Chan January 10, 2015 Share January 10, 2015 The humor has all the subtly of a brick upside the head (sorry Kurt!). I just can't bring myself to feel at all sorry for Rachel and Blaine. The two most blessed characters on the show who had the easiest paths and both back in Lima because of their own mistakes. As for Suddenly Seymour... someone tell Lea and Darren to stop screaming at me. Link to comment
fakeempress January 10, 2015 Share January 10, 2015 Yeah, Suddenly Seymour was as bad as I thought. Whole lotta shouting Link to comment
shantown January 10, 2015 Share January 10, 2015 "Gee, season 2 ratings were our best when everyone was back in McKinley and Blaine was a Warbler. Let's just do that again." -The writers, probably Link to comment
Cranberry January 10, 2015 Author Share January 10, 2015 I've had enough of Blaine singing already and we're only 20 minutes in. 1 Link to comment
fakeempress January 10, 2015 Share January 10, 2015 I turned away to look at the coffee maker and missed two scenes. What's with the pacing? Link to comment
Cranberry January 10, 2015 Author Share January 10, 2015 Is Glee even airing on a Canadian channel this year? I just noticed that my TV provider is actually letting me watch on FOX instead of putting a Canadian feed over it like they usually do. Link to comment
Hana Chan January 10, 2015 Share January 10, 2015 Darren is proving that he's in absolutely no danger of being nominated for an Emmy. 2 Link to comment
fakeempress January 10, 2015 Share January 10, 2015 Darren can't play drama to save his life. Chris on the other hand-- The more the show's trying, the less sorry I feel for Rachel. 1 Link to comment
tab19 January 10, 2015 Share January 10, 2015 Yeah, Suddenly Seymour was as bad as I thought. Whole lotta shouting Yeah, I don't usually care about Blaine's singing, but I thought Blaine's intro was really weak. Noticeably. 1 Link to comment
shantown January 10, 2015 Share January 10, 2015 I just wish they weren't wasting time on the Warblers, and Vocal Adrenaline, and new characters - they only have 13 episodes left, why wouldn't you spend time on the characters that people have more of a connection to? The whole rival high school show choirs thing has been done to death by this show, and someone needs to tell RIB that horse is dead. 3 Link to comment
Hana Chan January 10, 2015 Share January 10, 2015 I am so sick of having everyone kissing Rachel's ass and acting as if she's suffering some kind of grand injustice of fate. I'm sorry Will... it wasn't one "misstep" that put Rachel in this position. It was multiple miscues. It was letting her arrogance get the better of her. It was quitting NYADA, ad then Funny Girl, and then signing up for a tv show because it would be all about her. Rachel is reaping the well deserved "rewards" for all the choices she's made. I really wish that someone would just be honest with her instead of blowing sunshine up her ass. 1 Link to comment
Cranberry January 10, 2015 Author Share January 10, 2015 That's So Rachel is unbelievably bad. It's not even funny bad; it's cringeworthy. Which I guess is the point, but it never would have aired on TV, not with someone actually saying "line?" Link to comment
tab19 January 10, 2015 Share January 10, 2015 Yes. THIS. Although the Brittany doppelganger was pretty accurate. :) Link to comment
Danielle87 January 10, 2015 Share January 10, 2015 The Mercedes character was offensive and interesting they had that big thing (whatever it was) fall on Cert. Link to comment
shantown January 10, 2015 Share January 10, 2015 (edited) "Blaine wasn't afraid of intimacy" Haha, no he certainly wasn't when he was sleeping with the facebook random. Edited January 10, 2015 by shantown 2 Link to comment
tab19 January 10, 2015 Share January 10, 2015 FIRST accurate musical cue on Glee: "Shoot that poison arrow through my heart" in the background during the Klainofsky cheek kiss. Also, if this whole season is Kurt begging Blaine to come back? JFC, so fast forwarding. Link to comment
shantown January 10, 2015 Share January 10, 2015 Karofsky never should have come back, especially not to get sacrificed as a Blaine prop. 2 Link to comment
tab19 January 10, 2015 Share January 10, 2015 THIS SO MUCH. Also, those shorts are NOT appropriate teach wear, wtf?? Link to comment
Cranberry January 10, 2015 Author Share January 10, 2015 This Let it Go cover is fine; we all know Lea can sing...but this staging is so cheesy, especially the wind blowing through the school halls. Link to comment
shantown January 10, 2015 Share January 10, 2015 So: two Rachel solos, a Rachel/Blaine duet, a Blaine solo (with the Warblers), and a Vocal Adrenaline song. Kurt couldn't sing once? Will? Not any other of the actual characters? 2 Link to comment
Danielle87 January 10, 2015 Share January 10, 2015 Lea has great legs, jealous. I prefer Idina's version, but I always thought her voice was too mature sounding for Elsa. Lea's voice sounds more age appropriate. Link to comment
Hana Chan January 10, 2015 Share January 10, 2015 Um Rachel you didn't lose it. You GAVE it away. No, she threw it away. Let it go was the height of self-indulgence. 2 Link to comment
shantown January 10, 2015 Share January 10, 2015 Oh good now a Blaine voice over, where is my vodka?!? ;) WHY is this episode at Dalton? This isn't even Glee anymore. (It's still terrible though) Link to comment
Cranberry January 10, 2015 Author Share January 10, 2015 An ebola joke and now a Game of Thrones joke... Glee is trying so hard to stay relevant. Link to comment
shantown January 10, 2015 Share January 10, 2015 So Sue was making fun of Kurt and Rachel for being back at McKinley, but Becky Jackson is still hanging around? Link to comment
Danielle87 January 10, 2015 Share January 10, 2015 Kurt's outfit is HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE. 1 Link to comment
Cranberry January 10, 2015 Author Share January 10, 2015 It's too late, show. You can't make me like you, not even by bringing Quinn back. 1 Link to comment
shantown January 10, 2015 Share January 10, 2015 Oh good. Everyone's back. They can resume making fun of Tina and having Sam say inappropriate things. 3 Link to comment
Myrna123 January 10, 2015 Share January 10, 2015 If I ever find myself in close proximity to the person who is responsible for Kurt's kerchiefs I will not be able to remain civil. Why? For the love of all that is good and decent in the world, why? 3 Link to comment
fakeempress January 10, 2015 Share January 10, 2015 I admit I laughed at the Sharia law line. It was Jane's delivery. Link to comment
jaytee1812 January 10, 2015 Share January 10, 2015 I know what the hell was Tina thing about? Were they trying to be like meta like? Or was it like a Jan Brady thing "oh jan" Why were they making fun of Tina? Please tell me she's still at Brown? Link to comment
shantown January 10, 2015 Share January 10, 2015 If I ever find myself in close proximity to the person who is responsible for Kurt's kerchiefs I will not be able to remain civil. Why? For the love of all that is good and decent in the world, why? Kurt's kerchiefs > Blaine's bowties Why were they making fun of Tina? Please tell me she's still at Brown? Nope, she missed the big group hug and welcome back because she was parking the rental car. Also, I wish Mike Chang was in this song. Link to comment
mustbekarma January 10, 2015 Share January 10, 2015 Everyone's back and singing together. Add in a little A-Ha and I'm happy. 1 Link to comment
Cranberry January 10, 2015 Author Share January 10, 2015 I can't mock Rachel actually helping a student. That was nice. 2 Link to comment
shantown January 10, 2015 Share January 10, 2015 Why isn't Blaine telling Jane to stand in one spot and not even raise her arms at all? Or it's just Kurt that had to be a motionless puppet during a Warbler audition? Link to comment
mustbekarma January 10, 2015 Share January 10, 2015 (edited) Jane has more talent than any of the previous New New Directions put together. The McKinley story lines would have been so much better if they had recruited more talent like her. And the Warblers joined her instead of being all "ooh, icky girl!" shantown January 10, 2015 Share January 10, 2015 Football guy kind of has a point but my guess is he probably does like singing and such that scene will be meaningless Why were they even trying to recruit him? They haven't heard him sing and he's shown NO interest. Link to comment
Cranberry January 10, 2015 Author Share January 10, 2015 I liked that football guy credited Modern Family and not "glee club" with helping people accept his sexuality. I was worried when I first read that "post-Glee gay" description of the character. Girl warbler is good. I need to learn people's names, I guess. Link to comment
shantown January 10, 2015 Share January 10, 2015 This Warbler BS just makes me hate them even more. Why are we wasting any more time on the Dalton suckfest? Link to comment
Cranberry January 10, 2015 Author Share January 10, 2015 Okay, the comment about the Quinntana sex got my first actual laugh of the night. 4 Link to comment
