MegaJ December 31, 2014 Share December 31, 2014 A-Plot. Nothing to really comment on other than I liked it lot. Zoe saw that she was turning into the same people who took advantage of her and did the right thing in the end, but of course she was a jerk through these episodes so she gets her comeuppance here. I'm not sure how she's going to avoid serious trouble. B-Plot. DAAAAAAAAAAAMN Eli. I was on his side at the beginning; his detractors somehow expected him not to be angry for being dumped just so Clare could have guilt-free sex with Drew. But there's no coming back from that "whore" comment. Eli's sensitive and all that but at the end of the day, he's still a guy. Ugh. Clare needed to tell Drew right away, as oppose to "figuring it out," but I really felt for her and the mess she made, having Drew mad at her and then spoiling Dallas and Alli's plans. I don't know if EClare can come back from that; I think we just witnessed a ship sinking. Well, then again Eli doesn't know the baby is his so I suppose that will reunite them. The more I think about it, the most I think a miscarriage won't happen. C-Plot. Thank God Triles is over. I rolled my eyes at Tristan's speech; he never seemed at all interested in Miles's as a person until it inconvenienced his fairy tale romance. The only bad thing about this plot is Matlingsworth isn't over. ¬.¬ And we'll probably get more Tristan vs. Maya. Sigh. Next two weeks looks juicy. I wish they would show them in a hour though.__________________ 2 Link to comment

Did the dude forget about his little stint with Eleanor during Clare's CANCER? Bud needs to take a few seconds and let that sink in before calling the pot a kettle. Which brings me to my next point. I was trying to contain my laughter during Tristan's little diatribe. I couldn't think of a more suitable person to receive that message than the person giving the speech. He wants to throw the "you've got nobody" card? Let's see here...friend count for Tristan..............................................Zoe. *crickets chirping* Hmmm yep I think that's about it. Would've been a two count if dear old Trist reconciled with the girl that saved him from a scumbag child predator. Ya know, even after like...10 episodes after Winston shined the light on that ugly truth. I'm not going to go into a tangent on why I think Tristan is the worst character on the show currently so I'll aptly summarize it in two words: I can't. This episode should have just been titled Hypocrites vs Hypocrites. Wasn't a bad episode by any means. It was just focused on a lot of characters I simply do not care for. Next episode looks absolutely epic. I don't know if they're trying to misdirect us, but the scene of Maya asking Grace if she really is gay made my ears perk. Will the blue haired wonder finally get a storyline of her own? Honestly, I don't care how awful it could turn out to be. Seeing her storyline would be a huge breath of fresh air from these other ones. This may be left field here but...unless Arlene is revealed to be on Grace's level of technological omnipotence, I suspect the writers are prepping Grace to be the surprise reveal of Zoe's blackmailer. I mean...who else besides her could mass text the entire assembly RIGHT after Zoe's speech? I know they've shown a "bond" thus far but something just tells me something isn't what it seems. I want to see Arlene and Grace fleshed out pronto, unless they're purposefully being underutilized to make the reveal more believable. Link to comment
Daisy December 31, 2014 Share December 31, 2014 Please. Degrassi Writers. Don't do anything to ruin Frankie. I love her. She's amazing. Frankie is Love. she is amazing, though i have to say who the heck is doing the blackmail thing? is it Grace? (that would be a twist). Who else is all techie tech tech that we know of?Go die in a freaking fire, Eli. A whore?. Seriously? And it would be at that point if I had been Clare and I would have said, " the tears is being disgusted that my baby daddy's a lying hypocrite" he slept with that chick in New York while Clare was in the hospital did he not? Ugh. Miles is a Jerk, Miles/Maya will be boring, and as much as I don't like Tristan - there totally needs to be some story on him to explore how freaking lonely and how much heneeds to be loved here. Did i mention how much I love Frankie? 1 Link to comment
possibilities December 31, 2014 Share December 31, 2014 That was brutal. At first, I was mystified about why they would do the dad-switch on the Clare pregnancy, but I guess they are taking on the way that pregnancy has consequences not only in terms of becoming a parent, but also in ways that ripple through all your relationships. You can no longer fool around on any level. EVERYTHING has to get very serious, and are you ready for that? It's not just about the baby, it's about all your relationships, all your plans. And you don't have the luxury of going "oopsie" or "talking your time" or making mistakes like you can in other areas-- it affects everyone else in your life, too. And there is no easy way out. I think Clare has always seemed like tone of the more serious kids on the show, but it's not enough here. She's reaping magnified chaos from each sloppy moment, and she can't escape into "just a stupid teenager" anymore. I thought Clare approached her conversation with Eli in a ridiculous way, but I still don't see how Eli can come back from his outburst, either. I'm sure he'll try once he hears about the baby, but that was more than cold, that was brutal and shows that he also can't afford to be impulsive anymore. None of these kids are mature enough for what they are facing. Zoe really is despicable, so it's hard to feel bad for her. Once again, though, the theme seems to be that you can't keep pleading youth and innocence, at some point you will start to have to face the consequences and there is no taking certain things back. Zoe of all people should have learned by now, but she still carried out premeditated crappiness, and I would kind of like to see her life ruined, not for spite but because I like the message that actually you do have to exercise some impulse control and not be shitty and reckless, that there's some reality to taking responsibility and suffering consequences in life. Too often TV gives up the "oh well, kids will be kids!" outcome, and happily ever after. But what does that say, really? It's not how the world works. And of course it's not just Zoe, the entire cheer team is culpable. Not sure what I think of the preview where Frankie is being berated by her dad, but I do think that bad as Zoe is, she can't really be blamed for the entire scam on her own. She only had as much power as the rest of them gave her. I'm excited about Grace maybe being queer. We'll see what they do with it, though. Tristan-- sigh. He's sad. Miles was right about that, but that doesn't get Miles off the hook for being a total dick either. Miles-Maya gives me the heaves, so I hope she's not interested. But I foresee nothing good coming out of this storyline, and I am disappointed if they've abandoned the Miles-Tristan romance, because I thought it had potential to be more than just another story about Tristan being a romantic fool and Miles being a cold-hearted user prick. 3 Link to comment
omgsowicked December 31, 2014 Author Share December 31, 2014 Zoe: She was always a manipulative little shit but she was still human at her core. Now... she's a snake. She was so over the top, with the stroking of Jack's face, framing and silencing Frankie with a nude photo, using her rape as a way to deflect blame away from the team. Sure, she gained a conscious in the end but I don't know how she can recover from this, as a character. Holy crap. I'm glad the truth finally came out, at least... this was getting out of control. Clare/Alli: Eli's such a shitbag, I swear. Why is it that he seems to have completely forgotten that he brought all of this on himself? Clare's the whore? Who was the unfaithful one here, jackass? She had protected sex with one guy, once, while they were broken up. Fuck this dude. I'm shocked they had Eli be so vile about this, as I thought Eclare was their favorite... will they shock me again by having Clare finally stand up for herself and tell him to go fuck himself? Oh man, I want her to drop the mic so bad, lol. Tristan/Miles: They both hit each other where it hurts; Tristan called him out for being a manipulative, abusive asshole (aka just like his father), and Miles made eyes at Maya (on purpose, in my opinion), knowing it would kill Tristan. I don't think Miles actually has feelings for Maya... he just spent two episodes with her and I didn't see any romantic feelings on either of their parts. I can understand both of their sides here... Miles being abused has messed him up big time, and he's pushing away everyone and everything that matters to him. Tristan has no clue about any of this, so he tried to fix what he thought was a reasonably sized problem and finally got fed up. I think it'll be best for both of them to go their separate ways for a while... Tristan might actually get some good character growth from this, and I think Miles needs to be on his own if he's ever going to be able to move past his issues (Maya enabling him and Tristan being clueless wasn't helpful). 3 Link to comment
luckyroll3 December 31, 2014 Share December 31, 2014 (edited) Oh man. Eli did not disappoint! He straight up brought the crazy just like I knew he would. This! I was again dumbfounded by Clare's, I need time to think about how this impacts my life, with no consideration for the other people involved. I get it; it's tough and she made a mistake. But she really is fucking around with other people's lives. Both Drew and Eli deserved to know immediately, especially Drew, since he's investing money and time and willing to give up everything else on her say so. It just really bothered me that Clare did not have that much respect for Drew, after all he's done since they've found out, to let him know ASAP. His reaction was spot on and she deserved it. I hope we also get a response from Audra! In true Clare fashion, she doesn't care about anything else outside the E-Clare bubble. Her opening statement of, "I know how to fix everything" spoke volumes. Clare, babies don't fix shit. That's a classic mistake that's been going on for centuries. Maybe if Jenna was around, she could remind Clare of what happened when Jenna and KC decided to keep their baby just to stay in a relationship (just rewatched those episodes recently with KC cheating with Marisol at Lil Miss Steaks, and then Jenna and KC realizing that if they gave the baby up for adoption there was no reason for them to be involved). Zoe: She was always a manipulative little shit but she was still human at her core. Now... she's a snake. Zoe's quite the budding sociopath. I loved watching Snake, uhm Simpson, in the background during her speech. He bought it so hard. I'm guessing he felt like quite the idiot seconds late. I'm also glad the truth was revealed, but where did that photo come from? I find it hard to believe they took a picture like that. Tristan needs some goddamn self-esteem. After all the shit Miles said to him in the last couple episodes and Tristan is the one killing himself to make it all right? Miles didn't even apologize to you for what he said/did. But Tristan is desperate for attention and love, he doesn't care where it comes from. I rolled my eyes at Tristan's speech; he never seemed at all interested in Miles's as a person until it inconvenienced his fairy tale romance. Which brings me to my next point. I was trying to contain my laughter during Tristan's little diatribe. I couldn't think of a more suitable person to receive that message than the person giving the speech. Yes and yes! I couldn't agree more with the 2 previous quotes. Edited December 31, 2014 by luckyroll3 2 Link to comment

MaiSoCalled December 31, 2014 Share December 31, 2014 Somehow through all the crazy I had remained an eClare fangirl. Now, I really hope they implode and end horribly. Not because I hate them, but because I think that would be a really interesting story. Has Degrassi had a story about an epic high school love that ends horribly? (At least The Next Generation). A story to show that sometimes your high school love is just that, and it doesn't translate to the real world. I want Clare to have a happy life, with a baby or without, but it'd be great to see her having this life alone. A part of me wonders if this baby is set up for the Next Next Generation. I am interested to see how the Cheer storyline plays out as well. Frankie remains my favorite of the story. I also find myself charmed by the ditzy one (Lola?). I like that she seems to be the only one who was happily sending pictures. She's uncomplicated and I appreciate that. Link to comment

bantering January 2, 2015 Share January 2, 2015 (edited) He didn't sleep with Lenore in New York, it was just a kiss. Oh weird, I didn't know this. Claire had carried on as if Eli had actually slept with her that I thought he did. (Granted, I think kissing behind your partner's back is bad too, though less bad than sleeping with someone else, but something about Claire's acting gave off the impression Eli had slept with the other lady). mjgchick January 4, 2015 Share January 4, 2015 (edited) I thought Claire acted out that way because he kissed another girl while she was sick? I'd probably have that in the back of my head wondering if I get sick would he do it again or go even further? Will he be so stressed out to doing it again? I'm so sad that the baby wont be Drew's of all the people to mature on this show and have it be believable enough to make me like them it was Drew. I also liked the chemistry he and Claire gave off each other. They were both single and it wasn't some epic romance. It was two people who spent a lot of time together and ended up being attracted to each other. *Sigh* but of course on Degrassi everything has to be some damn complicated especially with stupid Eli. I really hope Maya and Miles don't happen mostly because I'm sick of Tristan guilt tripping Maya when boys find her attractive. I get that the writing for her is annoying but she rarely does things to really hurt people. I will say, I do like that Tristans storyline isn't about him being gay. I just wished he actually had a storyline. Like isn't his parents going through some stuff? Can't the show bring Maya and Tristan together by her being there for him while his parents act a fool around him? I cannot with the child porn storyline. I hope this goes some where as in Zoe is still dealing with her rape, who ever is leaking those post gets caught and suffer consequences. Edited January 4, 2015 by mjgchick Link to comment

I'd probably have that in the back of my head wondering if I get sick would he do it again or go even further? Will he be so stressed out to doing it again? It wasn't while she was sick. She was in remission by the end of the summer, and the thing with Lenore happened a couple of months later, around Thanksgiving I think. Also, right after Clare found out she made out with Drew and never told Eli about it. Regardless, Eli's rant was way over the top (and way out of character unless they're going to reveal he's been off his meds recently) and I don't see how they can come back from that. I'm glad Zoe finally realized she's been doing to other girls what was done to her. I'm curious to see how the girls will get punished for the photos, and whether Zoe will play it off as related to PTSD from her assault. Link to comment
Ljohnson1987 January 4, 2015 Share January 4, 2015 Isn't it funny how Degrassi has their own version of social media? Ommpchat is Snapchat. Face range is Facebook. Lone Wolf January 5, 2015 Share January 5, 2015 If they do actually get to Finals, the Power Cheer team is going to need to “Step Up” (like Drew did by putting together the crib with Dallas – see what I did there?). It seems like the energy level/complication of their routine declines with every practice. “Not Miles; he’s way too cute to be a villain.” LOL. “Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.” Guess Zoe’s mom is a Godfather fan. C’mon, we make obscure references like Phyllis Diller but we can’t directly quote what’s universally considered to be one of the greatest sequels of all time? Whore?? Oohhhhhh…how 'bout them Yankees. Zoe and Miles both got told what’s what. Frankie and Tristan's season finale; maybe a little OTT (especially the latter), but it had to be said. Wish I had a dime for every time that Snake has said, “My office.” Link to comment
aradia22 January 19, 2015 Share January 19, 2015 "Dearest, Jacqueline. Did you forget? I'm a brilliant actress." OH MY GOD. This is the Degrassi I love. So stupid. That was like Baby Showgirls. Oh, Clare. Such a good friend. Not willing to listen to Ali's issues and then immediately turning the conversation back to her. Wait, did I miss an episode? Why are things weird between Zoe and Zig? While Clare definitely deserved a set down, Eli jumped to calling her a whore way too quickly and the way it was written it did seem like he was more upset about her ruining their epic romance instead of justifiably upset about the way she's been behaving. Poor Frankie. I think she was naive enough to forgive everything if Zoe had genuinely wanted to make up and let her back on the team. Also, all this heroes and villains stuff is super forced. It was a mistake to make so many characters fans of superheroes (at least on paper). Really, kudos to the actress playing Zoe. She wasn't wholly sympathetic at the end but her performance is at least strong enough to push me in the direction the script wants to go. I did think she earned a bit of redemption for deleting the photo and while she does deserve to be punished for the vile way she's been acting I did wish that she'd gotten out of it. Actually what I'm really hoping for is that everyone will turn on Winston and we can kick him off the show. Seriously, Winston is the worst. Unlike the other characters who annoy me, he has no redeeming qualities. Link to comment
