Victor the Crab October 28, 2014 Share October 28, 2014 Louie Gohmert is a very, very stupid man. Stephen's smackdown of him was absolutely epic. I hope Gomert freaks out over this like the small person he is. 4 Link to comment
peeayebee October 28, 2014 Share October 28, 2014 Yes, that was an epic takedown. I enjoyed the interview with Viera. Loved Stephen's explanation for why it's called "The View." 2 Link to comment
attica October 28, 2014 Share October 28, 2014 How on earth do the people of Texas 1st look at Gohmert and send him back to Congress? Have they no pride at all? Are they immune to embarrassment? Surely a roadkill armadillo would do a more creditable job! Vote Roadkill 2014! 5 Link to comment
Latverian Diplomat October 28, 2014 Share October 28, 2014 (edited) I enjoyed the interview with Viera. Loved Stephen's explanation for why it's called "The View." Yeah, that was fun. She scored a couple of hits herself, as with the joke about being her real self on camera as as opposed to <looks at Stephen>, and the awards contest was great. cattykit October 29, 2014 Share October 29, 2014 as with the joke about being her real self on camera as as opposed to <looks at Stephen>, and the awards contest was great. I find myself thinking two things--I can't believe it's almost December, and I wonder how hard it will be for him to behave out of character, since he's been "Stephen" for so long. She said she won 14 Emmys, but imDb only shows 11. No matter. But I was afraid they might get down to sixth-grade gym medals. Link to comment
Victor the Crab October 29, 2014 Share October 29, 2014 NRA, it doesn't seem that you could get any lower, but you did. Hope you all get shot in the groin with your own firearms. 1 Link to comment
Latverian Diplomat October 29, 2014 Share October 29, 2014 (edited) What I don't get is how the pigeon shooting provision got added in the first place. When you're cravenly beholden to an organization with as irrationally paranoid as the NRA, don't you run every piece of legislation past them in advance? Mere human reason is insufficient to identify every possible, tenuous slippery slope to the overnight collapse of all human freedom that those guys can find in anything. It's what they do. soberdriver1 October 30, 2014 Share October 30, 2014 I'm surprised nobody has told the NRA that loving cold hard metal that kills people leads to a slippery slope into a world full of Terminators or the Borg Cube and they will be 100% responsible. 1 Link to comment
Fremde Frau October 30, 2014 Share October 30, 2014 This hashtag has been both hilarious and disturbing. Maybe John will follow-up with a "How Is This Still A Thing?" segment. Stephen has a really nice voice. I can't wait for more of that on CBS. Link to comment
peeayebee October 30, 2014 Share October 30, 2014 Excellent show. I haven't been watching the news lately, so I hadn't seen the video of the Canadian parliament or heard the explanation of what exactly the Sargent-At-Arms did. Seeing the ovation, I was tearing up as he was tearing up. Also, I loved all the Canadian jokes from Stephen, including saying "Sorry." 7 Link to comment

attica October 30, 2014 Share October 30, 2014 I was delighted with the gamergate coverage. Sarkeesian does terrific work. And Lepore's book just went on my To Read list. 2 Link to comment
walnutqueen October 31, 2014 Share October 31, 2014 attica - there's a good interview with Lepore on NPR's Fresh Air (10/27/14). Floved the shout-oot to Canada, and the long overdue apology. 1 Link to comment
