Lantern7 December 25, 2017 Share December 25, 2017 @Brattinella . . . just so you know, there's a Robot Chicken forum. And yeah, they usually bring their A-game for the holidays, especially when Seth McFarlane played Santa. 1 Link to comment

Lantern7 January 3, 2018 Share January 3, 2018 (edited) "Ohhhhhhh, so THAT'S why Chubby sounds like Morty!!" And this will be airing Sunday tonight at midnight-12:45. Then we got SuperMansion at 1, which . . . why? What's the point of running a show that late, even in the age of DVR? ETA: Two more clips from Hot Streets: extended trailer and behind-the-scenes/characters. Edited January 4, 2018 by Lantern7 Link to comment

I DVR'd this in the hopes it would be a parody of those Lifetime women-in-danger flicks. I haven't watched it yet, but sounds like it's not worth it. Adult Swim -- at least on my cable company -- has removed "Bob's Burgers," "American Dad," and "The Cleveland Show" from their on-demand offerings. That's disappointing, since it was my go-to when nothing else was on. 1 Link to comment
Lantern7 January 8, 2018 Share January 8, 2018 I was okay with it. Just going nuts upon the Lifetime movie genre. Next week: back-to-back Hot Streets at midnight, half-hour of The Jellies at 12:30. Link to comment
Sandman87 January 9, 2018 Author Share January 9, 2018 I have learned through bitter experience that [as]'s idea of a live-action "parody" of something is to take it and deliberately make it suck, so I gave MMIDWMJF a pass. 1 Link to comment
Lantern7 January 15, 2018 Share January 15, 2018 (edited) So . . . Hot Streets. I think that might last for a while, though the neurotic dog might be a bit of a drag. And he's a drug addict for Murder Powder. And Chubby has nipples, while is still weird for me. We got standard characters (hardened leader, dopey secondary male, suffering female, dog), but it feels go when they turn into the skid towards the insanity. ETA: Does it make me a bad person if I'm a little put off Adult Swim won't be airing "Return of the King" from The Boondocks on Martin Luther King Day? They used to do that. If they stopped due to protests, I would totally understand. Edited January 15, 2018 by Lantern7 Link to comment
Sandman87 January 16, 2018 Author Share January 16, 2018 Chubby Webbers seems more...intense now than he was in the pilot. And I learned all sorts of new information about mummies! Link to comment
Lantern7 January 22, 2018 Share January 22, 2018 I checked Wikipedia . . . Hot Streets only has eight episodes. That's why I'm holding off on suggesting threads for a new forum. Same deal with Apollo Gauntlet. I think Hot Streets will become a fixture on Adult Swim. I mean, we got wallet light sabers, murder powder, and knowledge wizards! Link to comment
Sandman87 January 23, 2018 Author Share January 23, 2018 It's the little things about Hot Streets that make it great. For example; the fact that Branski and French drive a car that has two steering wheels. Or the fact that a TV newscaster has the lightsaber skills to fight alien invaders. Link to comment

Lantern7 February 5, 2018 Share February 5, 2018 @Brattinella . . . aw, it's pretty good. I mean, it deserves a second season and not much else, but's it a nice way to kill 15 minutes. Forgot to mention last week: The Eric Andre Show is still at 1 a.m., and that's followed by Tim & Eric Whatever. Seriously, if they had stopped at Tom Goes To The Mayor and moved on to stuff away from AS, I would've been awesome with that. At least with TEAS, you have Eric destroying the set in the first minute and Hannibal Burress. Link to comment

Lantern7 February 7, 2018 Share February 7, 2018 (edited) Heads up: [AS] is running Hot Streets in the 12:30-1 a.m. slot. I thinking this was last-minute after "Bractagon" got aired twice. ETA: Is Hot Streets one of those cartoons where most of the people behind it are completely baked? I mean, things were bizarre when Jen contracted Typhoid, and Chubby sold himself for sex in order to get stuff to save her life. Edited February 7, 2018 by Lantern7 Link to comment
Sandman87 February 8, 2018 Author Share February 8, 2018 Thanks. I'm gonna be looking for an opportunity to use the line "French, mount my niece!" in my daily life. And Rock Throwing Rick was probably the first cowboy rock ninja in space! Link to comment

Lantern7 February 12, 2018 Share February 12, 2018 If there's a second season of Hot Streets, I'll ask for a forum. I liked the bizarreness and the approach of that. The finale wasn't about tying up loose threads . . . more like, "Hey, this is it, might as well make lots of callbacks." And I can dig that. Next week: Hot Streets starts over in the 12:30 slot, something called Soft Focus with Jena Friedman at midnight, followed by a special episode of The Eric Andre Show. The week after: half-hour block of new Mr. Pickles. Um, yay?? Link to comment
Sandman87 February 13, 2018 Author Share February 13, 2018 If anyone had asked me, I would have sworn that Fronch was never going to appear again after the Satanic Nursery Song episode. Instead he came back and became the hottest thing in porn. And Branski lost...gasp!...his cool! Peeny Squeezy turned out to be all bark and no squeeze. And Dracula is a dirty cheater. He must have been using SPF 50000 sunblock, playing baseball out in the sun all day. Also slightly curious as to how Dracula got the deed to the headquarters building. And it was nice to finally see the real star of the show, Chubby Webbers, get some appreciation from the other regulars. Link to comment
Lantern7 February 19, 2018 Share February 19, 2018 (edited) Heads up: the Jena Friedman special ran long, and everything got bumped back 4-5 minutes. Also, I think I recognized my alma mater's campus. I'll have to check. As far as Adult Swim stuff goes, it could be worse. They could've had Eric Andre running out the "quad" dressed in nothing but ranch dressing, chased by the character known as "Kraft Punk." That would be a step up from anything involving Tim and/or Eric. The other Eric, I mean. ETA: "Quad" in quotation marks because I'm not 100 percent certain to what that pertains. Lantern7 February 26, 2018 Share February 26, 2018 Heads up: Mr. Pickles is still airing on [AS], and the third season began tonight. And I spent the second season completely forgetting a forum was set up for it in 2014. Once again, I really don't want to be alone watching this. Link to comment

Sandman87 March 2, 2018 Author Share March 2, 2018 Just watched the first episode of Final Space. The premise has potential, but unfortunately they decided to make the protagonist too annoying to watch. Kind of like The Box from the Progressive Insurance commercials, but louder and harder to understand. 3 hours ago, Lantern7 said: Okay . . . this? Ballmasterz appears to be what results when The Superjail! production crew invites the FLCL production crew over for an all-weekend marathon of binge-drinking and playing Runequest Trollball, and then the survivors decide that they should make a show out of it. Matt K March 2, 2018 Share March 2, 2018 (edited) TBS's app had the first two episodes of Final Space. I watched those and while I found the show fairly enjoyable and I'm interested in some of the overarcing stuff they set up I do agree that the main character isn't great and I found his one-sided relationship with Quinn problematic. But hopefully the next few episodes will tone down Gary's personality (hopefully through an actual character arc). I'm really hoping Close Enough gets a similar treatment as Final Space, airing on both Adult Swim and TBS. It probably will since it's a Cartoon Network co-production. I can't wait for Close Enough to actually air. Edited March 2, 2018 by Matt K Link to comment

Lantern7 May 13, 2018 Share May 13, 2018 To review: 1. Today is the finale for Mike Tyson Mysteries. Or at least the end of new episodes. Some of the humor is strained, but the absurdity makes up for it. 2. Next week, Robot Chicken returns at 11:30. 3. Also next week, the debut of Joe Pera Talks With You at midnight. I think I saw the late-late-late night origins, and it didn't impact me that much. Here's the teaser: And starting tomorrow night in the 1-1:30 block: Children's Hospital and NSTF:SD:SUV::. ApathyMonger May 14, 2018 Share May 14, 2018 Harvey Birdman is now Attorney General! Good for him. https://www.polygon.com/tv/2018/5/14/17351672/harvey-birdman-attorney-general-adult-swim Quote Adult Swim is bringing back one of the series that helped the network make a name for itself this fall: Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law. The mash-up of classic cartoons will return for a half-hour special later this year, titled Harvey Birdman, Attorney General. Adult Swim dropped early plot and casting details as part of an in-character press release. The gist: supervillain President Phil Seben (again voiced by Stephen Colbert) has appointed Harvey Birdman as the country's new attorney general. But Harvey isn't going to use the position to serve President Seben. Instead, he's using the power of the judicial system to get him out of office. Hopefully. 1 Link to comment
Sandman87 May 15, 2018 Author Share May 15, 2018 Last night's pilots: Tigtone - The King's Quest franchise meets Metalocalypse. Dark but funny. Also insane. The animation is pure Uncanny Valley stuff. I'll watch it if they pick it up as a series. Chuck Deuce - Surreal beach things. Moderately entertaining if one likes surrealism for its own sake. Incidentally, "chuck the deuce" means to make a peace sign. Trap Universe - Mean and nasty, in the same way that SpikeTV's attempt at a Ren & Stimpy restart was. Thumbs down. The Shivering Truth - Animation that looks like CGI pretending to be stop motion. Plot and narration are pure Xavier: Renegade Angel. Somewhat watchable. 12 hours ago, ApathyMonger said: Harvey Birdman, Attorney General No, just no. Not even going to give this one a chance. Link to comment

More news: The Venture Bros. goes to the 12:30 slot, Robot Chicken repeats go to 1:00. Hot Package airs at 1:15. This week's 4 a.m. mindfuck is Final Deployment 4: Queen Battle Walkthrough.
