Well, that took a dark turn. Hope Barney survives. Why would that art dealer jerk do that -- to scare Coop into not demanding his cut?

Really dark turn, the entire episode was slow and didn't really advance the plot and then boom that final scene happened. I guess Lu was texting Coop to warn him about the art dealer being mad, that guy is scum!

It was a really good episode, Hamm continues to shine, the writers are doing a good job with the kids, it's rare to see teenagers acting like teenagers on tv(watch Landman to see the opposite of that) I really hope Barney is alright, he's my favorite character.

Wow, Sam is going to be $20 million richer.

Partying in Manhattan is not a convincing alibi, Coop. You don’t have CCTV footage and phone location to back up your claim.

This episode makes me dislike Mel even more. She decides to steal the jam because she can. Being unhappy with Nick is justifiable enough for her to make a U-turn, back to Coop. What a manipulative b!tch.

I hope Barney will pull through. Good luck with the medical bills, Grace.

Coop is in way over his head now.  Cops are investigating the murder and though he didn’t commit it, the cops will look into him, which might put his extracurricular activities at risk of being discovered.

Mel for being a counselor or at least someone who advises other people doesn’t seem to know what she really wants or convey it to others.  She didn’t feel seen or valued so she cheated on Coop with someone in their social circle?  One thing to cheat but whom she cheated with was a choice — or maybe just being lazy.

Does keying people’s cars or stealing jam makes her feel seen?  She doesn’t care about money, just wants their old life back, with candy which they apparently loved back in college.  She just wants their old simple things in life with some transgression on the side?

She was going to sleep with Coop in the church but does sleep with him in the hotel.  So they get back together and everything would be cool?  Except Coops criminal activity may come home to roost.

When she finds out, will she be repelled, go back to Nick?  Or will she be turned on, want to join in on the fun?

That guy seems to be showing up everywhere! (If everywhere is defined as this, Severence, and Somebody Somewhere. )

Right? It feels like every time we’re watching something we end up pointing at the tv and saying “Hey, it’s Iceland!” Good for him, though. I’ve enjoyed him in all 3 of the shows you mentioned.

He also played a beleaguered police detective in an awesome Icelandic TV show called Trapped (one season was called Entrapped), which popped up on a variety of odd channels here in the US.   I highly recommend this series if you can find it.

He was also a bad guy in an episode of the first, best season of True Detective (the Matthew McConaughey/ Woody Harrelson season).

Lastly, he showed up in an Iceland leg of The Amazing Race a few years ago.

Entitled bitch steals a jar of jelly from a retailers shop. I was hoping that Coop would go back later and give him the money for it. This  show is really sickening in the way that it shows how awful these rich ****s  are

Yeah, these shows definitely reveal a bit of that life, which isn’t terribly surprising.

Doesn’t seem like Sam did anything.  Was it the girlfriend? Or a business partner?

How much did Lu tell the art guy about Coop?  Poor Barney

I like a good trip down memory lane too, but Coop and Mel showed that they weren't essentially "nice" people. Why break into a church and use the hosts to eat stolen jam? For that matter, why steal jam, to start with? Maybe they were always jerks, but didn't have the money to be full-fledged when they were younger.

What was Barney thinking starting that fire (and burning a million dollar check)? Now he'll owe even more money for that renovation or addition, or whatever it is.

Not sure why the art dealer felt he had to have someone beat up Coop; he has the painting, therefore he has the money. Unless, the painting that was stolen wasn't authentic either. I have heard of people displaying reproductions of the art they already own, just so it wouldn't be stolen. Kind of like some women wear reproductions of their valuable jewelry. Personally, I think if you have to go to those lengths then why bother to have the original item - just stick with the fake and be happy with it.

They were setting her up all season to be unhappy and passive aggressively expressing that. Remember when she keyed someone's car after having a session with an angsty teenager who said he did it just because he felt like it? She is like anyone who shoplifts - but particularly people who can well afford what they are stealing. She is doing it for thrill and for working out her need to be "bad." She is just a small potatoes version of Coop.

Barney was totally soused. He wasn't thinking at all. I was impressed he managed to notice the fire and put it out.

I don't think that was about the art - it was about Coop interfering with his sexual assault of what's-her-name... The art dealer had him beat up for revenge and to establish his power in their dynamic.
