S07.E17: Mutiny and the Bounty

Recommended Posts

I hope the ever annoying skip tracer Randy at least paid for Nolan’s new roof before he forgot his password or whatever stupid thing they came up with to get rid of his money. More realistically would have been his bitcoin losing all of its value.

Talk about weird. Nolan’s half brother is Pete Davidson, right? Well, they kept talking about him, and he kept popping up in commercials.

The whole Randy plot was ridiculous, with Wolfgang Puck of all people and some sports person I’ve never heard of making cameo appearances.

Hey, but at least we were spared an appearance by the legless liar. (Well, only semi legless)

Yay…Lucy made sergeant! Our long national nightmare is finally over and Lucy and Tim can be together…or can they? Of course Lucy is now on the night shift so once again the lovers are tragically parted…

Gimme Elijah. Gimme the red-hair-lawyer-lady.  Gimme Elijah plotting with the lawyer-lady.
Hell, gimme an army of serial killers and their copy cats.
I am desperate here... I could even tolerate 3 (three) Bailey-centric episodes in a row.
Anything than this idiot with the German accent and the humor that maybe (big maybe) 5 years old can appreciate.

At least it was only the one idiot, cause during the whole episode I was terrified the second one (Nolan's moronic bro) would also appear and I would just self-combust...

Rest of episode was fine. Mama Lopez was a riot. The ADA story was sad.. and yay for Lucy. I do not care for that musician and I am glad he is leaving for Europe even if I live in Europe. hmmm.. I am having second thoughts now..

Maybe I missed it but did Randy give credit to Mel Gibson for the plot?

I wonder how long the bounty hunters expected to stay in San Quentin State prison before they could enjoy any bounty.

Nolan using the Dirty Harry gambit and being surprised that it worked was gold.

I didn't know going in, but I liked it!

I predict Wesley is going to make a late jump into the election race.

I get it is easier to shoot in daylight but especially as a training show I always thought they should have more night work. They even had a "night general" in season 2 who we didn't see taking over at night. Like Sergeant Bradford being a Metro liaison in the station during that storyline I bet Sergeant Chen finds her way around to the day shift

I think we’ve seen Lopez’s in only one other episode (I’m recalling the one where her passel of brothers are all acting like fools — but I may be wrong), but I remember liking the actress a lot, and hoping we would see more of the character. I even liked the parallel-besties friendship with Harper’s mom.

Maybe broadcast standards are monolingual? Or S&P folks make assumptions about the language spread in tv audiences?

ETA: I don’t need any more Elijah in my life either. And if the indestructible redhead were to have an unfortunate but conclusive encounter with a rogue helicopter, a falling piano, a spontaneous gravitational anomaly, or some other suitably cartoonish end, I would feel bad briefly, and mostly for the piano.

Michael Trucco’s storyline would have been much more meaningful if we’d gotten any inkling that Del Monte had a family before now.

It’s always Ridonkulous M’s fault.

Ugh!  I forgot that she's running around causing havoc.

Fine, Lucy made sargeant.  Whoopie!  Still don't care about her and Bradford and their will-they-won't-they since even if they do, TPTB will torture the true believers and annoy the rest of us in return.

I don't ever need to see Randy again or hear about Nolan's half brother and his wife.

I also suspect that Wesley will get thrown into the DA's race though I don't see how that would make sense with his baggage.

I did like Angela's mom helping to take down the swindler.  And I appreciated seeing the actress who played Nyla's mom since she's been around a long time.

Not looking forward to next week.

I checked the Reddit sub and it is all about Lucy and Tim. I dunno the ages of the commentators but they write like 11-13 years olds, "Oh Lucy smiled at him!" "Oh Tim grined!" "Omg they are so cute"!  It was kind of awkward...
I actually like this couple, I do not mind them at all. I just don't enjoy when writers tease and tease and tease a pairing to prolong the story. It seems I am the minority! :D

I'm not on Reddit boards but I judge by YouTube videos where genre shows generate a lot where network procedurals rarely generate any interest. Maybe a few ex cops will comment on lack of realism which generally see them quit watching and commenting on after a season. And then there are the political players talking about the "cop-a-ganda" of network cop shows.

People talking romance is just probably a bigger audience than those talking about fake policing.

This show was incredibly stupid - but still enjoyable for some reason.

A three nano-second shot of Chekhov's bartender and the entire remainder of that sub-plot was laid bare before us. They draw down om the abandoned mall. The only ambulance in LA (the one with Bailey in it) shows up. Skip-tracer Randy drives his truck in there, meanwhile the whore they're there to save escapes. Bradford says "There are no Friendlies left inside!"  When did Skip-tracer Randy get out then?

Skip-tracer Randy is an asshole. And too stupid for anybody to believe was real. (Ditto for Nyla's mom.) I hope we don't see Skip-tracer Randy again. Unless the only alternative is that complete shit Pete Davidson. (How does he get on the show?  Does he pay them?)

The DA whipping out a pistol and getting to business was a shock, but first he should have gone full throttle in reverse and totaled their getaway car. I expected the California norm from him. "Guns are bad - give them BJs instead!" Of course, the kid getting clipped was inevitable. "See? Told you not to use a gun!" But I guess when a couple guys with MAC 10s come at you..... Pity the MAC 10s were firing like like UZIs (Rat-a-tat-a-tat!) and not real MAC 10s. (Bzzzzzzzzt!) But the MAC 10 will empty a 30-round mag in 1¼ to 1½ seconds. Or more like ½ a second with the 10-round mags that California law demands. These guys would obviously be using California compliant magazines, right? I mean, they might be willing to ignore laws that say "Don't murder people," but it's not like anyone would dare ignore a Gun-control law. Would they?

We all knew from the start that if Chen went for Sergeant she would not only pass, but that she would be top of the class. Some night-action might be an interesting new direction for the show, But as @Raja said:

I bet Sergeant Chen finds her way around to the day shift.

Never really liked Celina. Not sure why. Maybe it was decorating the shop with crystals and burning incense. She don't do much of that these days and my opinion of her has improved a bit. But don't give a rat's ass about her personal life.

Who was the guy that Skip-tracer Randy paid to have tea with Bradford? Somebody who was supposed to impress? Fail! And if someone I admired came and said they were going to spend time with me because they had been paid to do so? I'd tell them to get lost because my admiration would be in the toilet the moment I heard that.

At this point, I can only assume that the actor who plays Randy has blackmail material on the producers. I can think of no other reason for them to keep bringing him back. Does anyone actually like him?

I did think the character of Skip Tracer Randy was better utilized in this episode than previously.

So we are reintroduced to Nolan's half-brother's girlfriend this week, a character I forgot about and care not about. Very tired of Skip Tracer Randy. Not sure how many more characters I have forgotten about will resurface...oh, yeah, Criminal Mastermind Man who escaped from prison many episodes ago comes back next week. He will probably hook up somehow with Criminal Mastermind Redheaded Woman AND Criminal Mastermind Elijah to criminally mastermind a plot to overthrow the entire US Government with that top secret thumb drive stolen from the government employee on the bus. Too bad all they really had to do was work for Elon Musk 's DOGE racket. A lot easier and cheaper than billboards and hiring bus hijackers!

Kiki Hernandez currently a LA Dodger utilityman. Tonight, he is playing first base subbing in for the World Series MVP and many times National League All-Star at that position Freddie Freeman.

I'm sure if ABC could have gotten the once in a generation athlete Shohei Ohtani they would have.  Just a piece of the World Series champions when FOX has the rights to World Series suggest another personal relationship got Hernandez the cameo.

I have   this feeling, that most of us here are not the current target group of this show :D

I'm far past the targeted demographic for ad supported TV. I don't even think CBS still wants me.
